@Oram77 my PS3 disc and UMD are both in good working order. Disc rot seems fairly rare. I've only discovered that my Blu-ray of Stardust was affected. If it should happen I have no qualms looking into cfw's on my obsolete hardware as I own these games, disc rot or not.
@KeldorTheCursed @Dom_31 @Chaotic_Goat @DennisReynolds @Krlozgod He critiques a game, perhaps harshly, but does that allow many of you to call him all the things you do? So many don't even take a moment to think and just spread hate. He's got an opinion about a game for goodness sakes, leave your pitchforks at home.
From where I stand I think 10-15€ would have been more fitting, looking at indie gems that are similarly priced. The scenario (boy kratos) doesn't look like something very inspired, but I'm glad to be proven wrong.
I do get the annoyance. Had some coop games where coop was available after playing the first chapters solo. Really puts a damper on a planned coop session. Try to sell that to kids who want to both play.
Anyways, still not enough reason to put on a fit. I hope they just patch it up however.
Super excited, a state of play where basically anything can happen (or not), and silent hill on top of it, guess I'll be up until 2am.
Silent Hill f has really exceeded my expectation and can stand proudly next to silent hill 2. Actually a shame that it released the same year as expedition 33, because both were goty material.
@StitchJones I'm no expert but I think the cut is fine for certain stews, like Nigerian fish stew or soups. Many people in the world who do like the meat on some bone.
Doesn't need any more build-up until the month before release imo. Sony often overexposes their exclusives with too many trailers and dedicated deep-dive state of plays. Just tires me out for games that I'm dead-set on playing anyways.
@McBurn it's cashing in on both ends. Kids with loads of time who are trained on the idea that games are free and you pay for this or that pretty skin or what not as one business model and a recap retail release for traditional gamers with limited time as another business model. They could only win from it because they're not loosing those kids who expect things to be "free", and selling existing property to a different kind of audience.
@get2sammyb but without the bloat, focus on story and fast progression. I'd be willing to pay for that. These live service games don't respect our time.
@get2sammyb @McBurn Agree with McBurn. If a good live service game finishes a few seasons, they should take it, rework it to have regular RPG progression without the grindy mtx economy and sell it as a 50-70€ game. That'll be 50-70€ more profit they'd have made off of me than through their life service.
It's really a compliment to the worlds and characters that hoyo has established over the years and a great way for newcomers to catch up without it feeling so daunting. It's also a good way then to get new players on the current live service season.
Great studio, especially the Fuga trilogy is an underrated gem. So whatever original game they release I will follow closely. I was also hoping for a switch 2 upgrade of Kakarot, especially with the Daima DLC still releasing.
Great selection! I like a mix of games that don't belong to the category "if you wanted to play it that badly you'd of bought it by now". If we'd be getting the likes of GoW Ragnarok and so on we'd just get stuff we'd most likely have.
@Stepan during the PS2 days I was rather put off by yakuza's fighting system after coming from shenmue's weighty, virtua fighter inspired fighting. The fighting of early Yakuza Games just felt very impactless and you'd often just finish fighting animations into empty space despite positioning Kiryu in the right direction. The games have improved on that over time. They often add ridiculously acrobatic fighting styles, but as long as you can choose I find it's ok as long as the moves feel impactful.
@Stepan just tried the switch 2 demo and I'm currently slugging through pirate yakuza. The battle system of y3k definitely has more weight to it and the animations of y3k are so much better. The lighting is also really good on the switch2 version. Pirate yakuza has this extremely ugly contrast and oversaturation, independent of HDR. Bottom line and I'm sorry to say... pirate yakuza is absolute trash on all regards! Gameplay, story and visuals. The best compliment I could give would be that it would make a pretty PS3 game.
Kiwami 3 is shaping up to be a great release, despite the internet trying to manufacture issues.
They're slapping Nezha on everything these days. Went to check out what the fuss over those hideously animated Nezha movies was about. Not my cup of tea. Legend of Hei 1&2 and Nobody which all came out recently... amazing Chinese animation.
They're very industrious. Hope they dont stretch themselves to thin alongside the announced SH1 remake.
Rule of Rose would be quite neat, though I doubt it. We're also getting the fatal frame 2 remake, so something original would be preferred. Horror fans are eating so well at the moment.
Actual reviewers, differ as you may, aren't really the problem, but rather user-reviews that are misused to review-bomb, extort and harass.
Accounts that regularly review in extremes should either just be deleted or only allowed to score +/- 2 from an average 5 in order to force them to something their thinking sorely lacks... nuance. Maybe we'll then get more useful opinions rather than mean spirited agendas.
Sorry Rayman, your birthday's cancelled. Your business daddy is broke.
Though seriously, ubsoft has delivered very solid single player games with star wars outlaws and AC shadows, but the online trolls really killed them off. All reports on bugs were super hyperbolic. I really hope they get out of this pickle, but there's a group of online ghouls and their entourage who just have a perverse pleasure in watching and actively assisting things to fail.
@Stepan and now you got a new breed of "Yakuza purists" who complain about any minor differences to the original as well. I don't see any point in that except the insufferable imagination that these complaints make them sound like refined gamers. Push square and others are also always just fishing for unwarranted outrage.
This is Spiderman puddle level of nitpicking. Admittedly, going on these screenshots the lighting is off, but watching side by side video comparisons over a longer period, the remake is definitely better looking. And yes, Yakuza has always reused assets, but that is how they managed to tell their amazing story in a efficient, cost effective way. But yeah, if you want to hate by default then I guess you can lay that out negatively.
Also these sidelining Ichiban blames are beyond ridiculous. His last game just released 2024! Judgment is troublesome, but that's buyers fault for not showing up despite it being great. Generally dumb internet meme culture is to blame that we got pirate yakuza. When that was announced y'all sung a different tune, praising it's craziness.
Lastly, ai accusations are also just taken from thin air.
Yakuza has un/fortunately reached the level of popularity where it's become cool to slam it. Gamer internet discourse is just the worst.
Looking forward to this in order to wash the bad taste of pirate yakuza away. Even considering it's tongue in cheek premise, that "game" is a serious downgrade in writing, pacing, animations, character design etc. The psp games and feudal Japan games worked as spin-offs, pirates however, sheesh.
All the tough guys who don't need this sorta thing. On the other hand, anyone can "git gud" if they're single, no responsibilities and preferably live in their parents basement.
This is mostly to bypass difficulty spikes if you don't want to spend the few hours you might have repeating an area over and over again, and then turn it back to normal.
So yeah, stop embarrassing yourselves with your gamer pride.
It's very distasteful to base it on Ebola. It's like they took resident evil 5 (which I don't find as problematic as some would want you to believe) and ask themselves "how can we make this, but insulting!".
If they want a disease to base a game on, here's one for grabs: Man-Flu Madness!
@PuppetMaster I'm sure Japan's new prime minister is very happy with him. Work, work, work till you drop dead. Kohima is passionate though with what he does, so in his case it's a good thing.
@LieutenantFatman Sheesh... was thinking exactly the same, so I went and checked out the character art of the PS1 version... it's the same except that the ugliness is upscaled for the remake. Definitely not Yoshitaka Amano. So much for nostalgia goggles.
Megaton Musashi, Inazuma eleven, Professor Layton are all great games and Decapolice looks plenty original to me. People writing L5 off are just overreacting to a nuanced statement.

Glad that people aren't going for any artificial drama here.
Re: Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3's Multiplatform Approach Won't Affect Graphics, and Here's Why
I think they'll do well for themselves to focus on pc, playstation and switch, unless Xbox is super simple, then they can do all.
Silly that they have to explain themselves, that Sony dweebs don't wet the bed about their "lost privilege". Explains the some sourpuss comments.
Re: Rainbow Six Siege's Metal Gear Solid Update Is a Match Made in Stealth Heaven on PS5, PS4
Not enough espionage for my taste. They need to add Johnny English, Austin Powers and Bill Murray from that spy movie as well.
Honestly, huge mgs fan, but do these crossovers get anybody who isn't invested already, to play a live a service game!?

Re: Yakuza Kiwami 3's Dodgy Visuals Will Be Fixed in a Launch Day Patch
@Flaming_Kaiser maybe only the ps5 Version is affected but the lighting in the switch 2 demo seemed perfectly fine.
Not ideal as a physical game collector, but it's gonna be patched out at launch and we'll have a fun remake to play, just as we did with kiwami 1&2.
I don't really have an opinion on the recast situation.

Re: Try the Spiritual Successor to Parasite Eve, Coming to PS5 in 2026
Just don't have the time for demo's these days. I remember playing the crap out of PS1 and PS2 demo discs, but those days are long past.
Usually just run a demo for a few minutes to see if the performance is fine, especially when considering having compromises for portability on switch.
