"I'm literally in the writer's room, and that's my new thing."... not necessarily wrong or egregious use of "literally", but what else would you be? I sure hope his diction isn't a taste of the dialogue GoW is receiving.
Also, I know being a gamer isn't a prerequisite to write a decent gaming adaptation, but if you're going to talk like some frat girl, at least update your knowledge beyond donkey Kong.
Love this design so much that I'm very compelled to preorder to get one, even though I hate pre ordering. Classy steel books, art books and soundtracks are the way to go with special editions rather than overpriced plastic statues and other dust collectors. On rare occasion a game like unicorn overlord comes around that has an actual physical card game, also worthwhile.
The quality of star wars games at the moment is at an all time high imo, the best it's been since the jedi knight, Kotor days. The internet is a pool of sour fanboys, but if games like jedi fallen order/survivor and outlaws would be measured by their own merit rather than everybody's two cents on the state of star wars/disney then we could honestly acknowledge that these are fantastic games.
I don't get Bethesda's appeal tbh. All their big RPGs, elder scrolls, fallout and now starfield feel like genre templates that haven't been given any personality. I do understand their relevance in game history and really wanted to give them all a shot, but just couldn't get into it. At least I enjoyed the fallout TV series.
@nessisonett yeah, the setting instantly recalls siren and fatal frame. Perhaps it's really refunctioned as a silent hill game, but it wouldn't have been the first time with silent hill the room also starting off as a different game. Funny enough, even though it irked many that the room wasn't originally silent hill, it's held in high regards these days. The cult only really played a meaningful role in sh 1&3 and sh2 and the room have their own traumas and nightmares I think the main common themes in sh are fog, Akira T. Soundtrack and the main protagonists baggage.
@nessisonett I think this is exactly what silent hill would be like within a different cultural setting. Having or expecting pyramid head and nurses across different main protagonists other than James would be a big misunderstanding of the central theme.
@homelesscretin @PerpetualBoredom im lucky that in my city we got an active 2nd hand community, both online and flee markets. We had GameStop's but they were never popular here.
@EfYI ehm, I wasn't talking about some social media dispute, or Neil Druckman. Couldn't care less. I meant the immediate rejection of a game that (possibly, we'll see) handles meaningful themes. I don't mind people of faith and I don't mind atheists, agnostics etc, but I am annoyed by a callous disregard of meaningful discourse or the rejection that multiple views can coexist.
Unfortunately a large amount of gamers are intellectually famished and their surface level, edge lord atheism can't handle any meaningful challenge and discourse.
Trailer was, as to be expected, super self indulgent, but I can't deny it's quite the visual spectacle. I just really hope the story will resonate more this time around.
@HMazzy111 they might close the season on that and do some chronological juggling to get there. Trailer made me think they'll maybe even turn part 2 into three seasons.
3rd time's the charm, right? Welcome to racoon city appeared to go in the right direction at first with it's carpenter style and then went so far from the goalpost that it felt like an act of self sabotage. Sony movies have a very spotty track record, but I did enjoy Gran Turismo.
@AhmadSumadi the game is quite alright but in no way exceptional. It feels like how I remember assassin's creed (last I played was the 3rd Enzio game). I'm just surprised that AC shadows is getting accused for a bunch of stuff that this game also does, nothing bad of course, but enough to get peeps outraged. Anyways, Ronin is a inoffensive good but not great game. Hope they fix the pc version.
How about delaying it and releasing the full package. I'm not in a hurry. I think it should include the multiplayer, since the naughty dog examples given in here didn't have a MP as popular as gears did. It's like delivering the halo master collection without MP. For me personally however couch coop is a non negotiable must have.
@Jrs1 glad you enjoy it. For me the story of the Kiryu games are the beating heart of the series. Hope it steers back to that or else I'll have to place my hopes on project century and judgment if that continues.
@HotGoomba @Bigmanfan true, Weedon is the worst in every conceivable way. Taika is great when he's just doing his own thing or doing dramedies. Love and thunder however was the worst thing MCU ever, even beneath quantumania and the marvels, which is a feat. Gunn isn't bad but he thinks he can actually evoke emotion of what's happening on-screen with some sappy song rather than deserved moments, since all he does is poke jokes at every corner until then. He hasn't done much good for DC yet, but we'll see if he learned some lessons on sincerity with the new superman movie.
Like a dragon should dial down the craziness and keep it mostly for the side quests otherwise people will stop caring about it, once the meme buzz starts wearing off.
@HotGoomba I thought the new cap was pretty good. Felt like a solid phase 2 movie. What I can't stand are the cheap laughs that became commonplace since James Gunn's and Taika's introduction undermining every character moment for giggles. Going meta just made things even worse.
This game looks solid and Amy Henning knows what she's doing.
Though I find both parts great, I already feel oversaturated by tlou after only 2 games. Same goes for Horizon and it's sequel.
I'm happy for naughty dog's new sci-fi game and am always open to more uncharted. Despite having 6 games I just never got tired of it and still love to replay them all.
Love the commitment to couch co-op, the story telling however... don't care for the oscars, but f the Oscars is quite cocky if your story telling could be a film school example for heavy handed. Still, I'm here for the gameplay when it's on sale.
Not excited about tencent, but at least they release stuff, rather than the embracer group. Still kadokawa would have been a much wiser investment than placing all chips on bungie... 1 overinflated western studio for goodness sakes! They could have gotten Eidos and crystal dynamics and probably more parts of square enix on a bargain price.
Games are too long anyways. 30h should be considered long. I'm more willing to replay a shorter game. I frequently replay something like Uncharted, MGS 1-3, shenmue... perfect length, but I usually won't replay a 40-60+ hour game unless it's Witcher 3.
He's a talented guy for sure, but 16 was the biggest disappointment, even for someone who doesn't mind action RPGs. It was almost as shallow as a mobile game.
Not shoving down anybody's throat? Sure, but them not providing the necessary tools to make it accessible for ps plus premium members is a real sticking point. Having it only on the home console makes it very redundant except for demoing a game, and I'm not getting a portal. They need to finally release an android and iOS app as well as browser support, but they don't. The streaming quality is great, but my suspicion is that they don't have the infrastructure in place for more users.
Dragon age looks very tacky but I'll put it way in the back of my backlog in the case that I get stranded on an island where for some reason I have a playstation setup... so never

I appreciate that she and aerith are not squeaky anime waifus.
Re: PS5 Console Exclusive Star Wars Game Is Still Alive Allegedly
@Ilyn I've been desperately clinging to the hope that Kyle Katarn will return in some shape or form to star wars media since the rogue one retcon.
Force unleashed was great, especially the tech for back then, but too crazy to fit canon, even in legacy days.
