Early production stills often don't convey the look. Add some colour grading, grain, good cinematography and most importantly motion and we're looking at something completely different. As long as I don't see a trailer I'm not worried.
That's an exceptionally unflattering comparison. Almost looks like a bug. There are in game character model comparisons between ps5pro and switch 2 that don't look as tragic so it baffles me how df got these side by sides.
People should be pissed about Sony (and many others) buying, mismanaging and closing good studios. All due to a widespread delusional capitalism where things are never good enough, management oozes toxic optimism and markets are expected to grow indefinitely. It's not feasible, it's destructive. I'm in the medical field and the same is happening there.
I never heard of a ghost of Tsushima anime. Why does it have to be legends? Just because it's anime doesn't mean it has to include fantastical elements. Some of the best anime is grounded in reality.
Oh please, not this topic again! Bloodborne is my favourite from software game, yet still, this incessant begging for a Bloodborne remaster is beyond annoying! Just as bad as the silksong crowd, but finally, they got what they wanted and the world kept spinning.
If what he's saying that the gameplay will be new I'm very happy about that. Norse GoW gameplay was a reimagining of the greek GoW gameplay and yet stayed true to it. It did the same but brought you closer into the action and added more depth. Sorta like the jump from SNES Metroid to Metroid prime. Don't let the nostalgia goggles or purist fanboyism fool you, this is a definite upgrade!
Awful, and an obvious case of mismanagement by the parent company.
One thing that bugs me is this part: "Schreier writes that the studio has spent the last year or so pitching new ideas in an attempt to decide the company's immediate future."
Why not have them work on another remake instead of letting their wheels spin for a year. I'm sure you can pitch ideas on the side as well or have a small group dedicated to it if necessary.
Somewhat cringe and it just sounded like stock gametrailer music. The performance parts just seemed like it added beat samples over the existing generic music. Hard to tell from the trailer though.
@PuppetMaster crouching was the only thing added, which didn't add anything to the gameplay, and equally didn't break the gameplay either. It was basically identical to mgs3 subsistence. This isn't twin snakes, where the added mgs2 gameplay actually made the game super easy. If you play mgs Delta on harder difficulties the ai is in line with what you always had.
My point being, a remake should be bold and not just a highdef reskin. Delta missed its chance by A - being lazy or/and B - having no balls to change things up in fear of nostalgia misled fanboys.
Fanboys tore apart twin snakes as well for it's "over the top" cutscenes, despite every flippin MGS game having baths**crazy, over the top cutscenes ala Kojima. FF7 remake being bashed for subverting story expectations and adding optional yet fun side content, not bloat. If people want the Greek GoW as they know it they should just dust off their old consoles or boot up an emulator. They can even add highres textures and all.
@Oram77 my PS3 disc and UMD are both in good working order. Disc rot seems fairly rare. I've only discovered that my Blu-ray of Stardust was affected. If it should happen I have no qualms looking into cfw's on my obsolete hardware as I own these games, disc rot or not.
@KeldorTheCursed @Dom_31 @Chaotic_Goat @DennisReynolds @Krlozgod He critiques a game, perhaps harshly, but does that allow many of you to call him all the things you do? So many don't even take a moment to think and just spread hate. He's got an opinion about a game for goodness sakes, leave your pitchforks at home.
From where I stand I think 10-15€ would have been more fitting, looking at indie gems that are similarly priced. The scenario (boy kratos) doesn't look like something very inspired, but I'm glad to be proven wrong.
I do get the annoyance. Had some coop games where coop was available after playing the first chapters solo. Really puts a damper on a planned coop session. Try to sell that to kids who want to both play.
Anyways, still not enough reason to put on a fit. I hope they just patch it up however.
Super excited, a state of play where basically anything can happen (or not), and silent hill on top of it, guess I'll be up until 2am.
Silent Hill f has really exceeded my expectation and can stand proudly next to silent hill 2. Actually a shame that it released the same year as expedition 33, because both were goty material.
@StitchJones I'm no expert but I think the cut is fine for certain stews, like Nigerian fish stew or soups. Many people in the world who do like the meat on some bone.
Doesn't need any more build-up until the month before release imo. Sony often overexposes their exclusives with too many trailers and dedicated deep-dive state of plays. Just tires me out for games that I'm dead-set on playing anyways.
@McBurn it's cashing in on both ends. Kids with loads of time who are trained on the idea that games are free and you pay for this or that pretty skin or what not as one business model and a recap retail release for traditional gamers with limited time as another business model. They could only win from it because they're not loosing those kids who expect things to be "free", and selling existing property to a different kind of audience.
@get2sammyb but without the bloat, focus on story and fast progression. I'd be willing to pay for that. These live service games don't respect our time.
@get2sammyb @McBurn Agree with McBurn. If a good live service game finishes a few seasons, they should take it, rework it to have regular RPG progression without the grindy mtx economy and sell it as a 50-70€ game. That'll be 50-70€ more profit they'd have made off of me than through their life service.
It's really a compliment to the worlds and characters that hoyo has established over the years and a great way for newcomers to catch up without it feeling so daunting. It's also a good way then to get new players on the current live service season.
Great studio, especially the Fuga trilogy is an underrated gem. So whatever original game they release I will follow closely. I was also hoping for a switch 2 upgrade of Kakarot, especially with the Daima DLC still releasing.
Great selection! I like a mix of games that don't belong to the category "if you wanted to play it that badly you'd of bought it by now". If we'd be getting the likes of GoW Ragnarok and so on we'd just get stuff we'd most likely have.
@Stepan during the PS2 days I was rather put off by yakuza's fighting system after coming from shenmue's weighty, virtua fighter inspired fighting. The fighting of early Yakuza Games just felt very impactless and you'd often just finish fighting animations into empty space despite positioning Kiryu in the right direction. The games have improved on that over time. They often add ridiculously acrobatic fighting styles, but as long as you can choose I find it's ok as long as the moves feel impactful.
@Stepan just tried the switch 2 demo and I'm currently slugging through pirate yakuza. The battle system of y3k definitely has more weight to it and the animations of y3k are so much better. The lighting is also really good on the switch2 version. Pirate yakuza has this extremely ugly contrast and oversaturation, independent of HDR. Bottom line and I'm sorry to say... pirate yakuza is absolute trash on all regards! Gameplay, story and visuals. The best compliment I could give would be that it would make a pretty PS3 game.
Kiwami 3 is shaping up to be a great release, despite the internet trying to manufacture issues.
They're slapping Nezha on everything these days. Went to check out what the fuss over those hideously animated Nezha movies was about. Not my cup of tea. Legend of Hei 1&2 and Nobody which all came out recently... amazing Chinese animation.
They're very industrious. Hope they dont stretch themselves to thin alongside the announced SH1 remake.
Rule of Rose would be quite neat, though I doubt it. We're also getting the fatal frame 2 remake, so something original would be preferred. Horror fans are eating so well at the moment.
Actual reviewers, differ as you may, aren't really the problem, but rather user-reviews that are misused to review-bomb, extort and harass.
Accounts that regularly review in extremes should either just be deleted or only allowed to score +/- 2 from an average 5 in order to force them to something their thinking sorely lacks... nuance. Maybe we'll then get more useful opinions rather than mean spirited agendas.

I guess the sudden boost in ps5pro support is due to the extended console life span.
Guess the ps5pro will be treated as the unofficial ps6 for the coming years.

Re: Poll: Should God of War Trilogy Remake Adopt the Gameplay Style of Ragnarok?
Come on people. Which remake do you prefer: MGS Delta or Resident Evil 2,3,4?
I just finished MGS Delta and the gameplay hasn't aged like fine wine. Especially the high fidelity graphics paired with the aged animations felt off.
It's a remake, let them cook something modern feeling and not just modern in looks. The originals can easily be played if you want the original.
