Lana Del Rey’s voice is a perfect fit for James Bond, and she may have been recruited to croon the theme tune to IO Interactive’s upcoming 007 First Light.
We’ll be frank with you: there’s a lot of speculation doing the heavy lifting here.
But here is the fact: Lana Del Rey has registered a new song named First Light with ASCAP (or the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers).
The rest is purely speculation, but fans believe the title of the track paired with Lana Del Rey’s voice and image could mean she’s going to croon the title sequence to the upcoming release.
Honestly, while we don’t think there’s anywhere near enough here to get too excited, we can see it.
Lana Del Rey would have been an amazing fit for any of the Bond movies, so to have her in the game would be a real coup.
It’s obviously 007 tradition to conclude the first major set-piece with an elaborately animated music video, as a noteworthy pop singer belts out the title tune.
The theme of these songs is often based on the name of the movie, so we can see the First Light link here. Could it be a coincidence? Absolutely, but we understand why fans are getting excited.
Whoever’s singing the song, this will likely be a big marketing beat for 007 First Light ahead of its launch on 27th March.
Want to know our guess for how this is going to play out? As a world premiere, Geoff Keighley will have whoever’s recorded the song perform it live at The Game Awards as part of a big 007 First Light promotional segment.
You heard it here first, folks.
