Re: 'I Want to Celebrate Everything I Love About the Games': Zach Cregger's New Resident Evil Movie Looks Like a Blast

tameshiyaku

I think they're keeping the game connections out of the trailer and for the actual movie. At the same time, I think it won't do cheap easter eggs only for recognitions sake (unlike mario galaxy, MCU/dceu, ready player one). Of course a cynic would say "it's just got the name slapped on it" but you could say the same about re7 and the grace bits of re9. I believe it's more clever than just trying to appease fanboys, because that's seldomly a good choice.

Re: You Can Now Install Linux on Your PS5, Transforming It into a Steam Machine

Oh please, the arguments about this causing so much drm trouble for regular customers is just a limp admittance of completely yielding your consumer rights and being fine with that. These "bad tinkerers" bring loads of innovation by trying to make the most out of their own hardware, which is in their right.
Piracy never messed up the game for everyone else, but rather corporate greed and obsession with control. For goodness sakes, don't be such tools.

Re: Here's Your Very First Look at PS5's New Alien: Isolation Game

@PuppetMaster I love the length of the resident evil games. Uncharted and MGS games also have such perfect lengths that invite for repeated playthroughs. The average survival horror is around 10-12 hours, and re9 is 6h in a speedrun, not a first-time experience.
I don't get why people expect extremely long play times to justify it's price. Sure, it shouldn't be over too fast, and some RPGs should be epic time sinks, but there's nothing I dislike more than a game that doesn't respect the players time. Especially as console gaming is increasingly becoming a ≥30 demographic, we don't have that much time!

Awesome, can't wait. What would be cool to shorten the wait would be a PS5 update with slight visual enhancements and the option of a directors cut, where the games length is shortened and condensed. Even the Devs said that despite it being a great game, is was just too long for a horror game. Having a shorter directors cut would definitely move me to replay it more often.

Re: Another Always Online, Live Service PS5 Gacha Is Getting a Deluxe Physical Release

tameshiyaku

What a wasted opportunity. These physical releases should be a retweaked edition, where they remove the gamble and grind elements and offer a summary of multiple events/seasons, just presented in a more conventional single player campaign. A faster way to get players up to speed on current events. If it were so I could find value in it. This is just a waste of money and more plastic garbage.

Re: 'The Whole Team Is Working on the Final Stages': Onimusha PS5 Release Date Can't Be Far Away

tameshiyaku

This is the title I'm most looking forward to. I been clambering for a new Onimusha for years, unfortunately the dragon's dogma people were louder.

However, the way the gaming community is, I think not enough people will show up to actually buy it. I really hope they do, but it's hard to imagine.
The same goes for Okami 2. I guess the world just didn't deserve clover studios, but I'm happy we still have platinum.

Re: 'What the F*ck Are We Doing Here?': PS5 Fans Slam Square Enix for Sloppy Multiformat Strategy

tameshiyaku

@TrollOfWar it's really a piss poor showing, and I could imagine that even if they should try to reach out to actual sources they'd not get any replies because of lack of credibility. Once in a while we get nice little pieces, usually when the crew is traveling to Japan, and I do compliment it in the comments, but other than that it's just milking some rando social media rage bait.

Re: SEGA's PS5 Games Get Good Reviews, So Why Aren't You Buying Them?

tameshiyaku

Classic console gaming were long dead weren't it for the fantastic work of Japan's big publishers: Sega, Square Enix, Capcom and of course Nintendo & Sony (to a limited extent). Konami is also stepping up and reclaiming it's spot it once had. My money goes to them and to all the wonderful indies. The big American publisher's however have truly failed the medium and wrecked the business with it's overblown budgets and wreckless handling of labour.

Re: As PS6 Delay Rumours Swirl, Fans Debate Ray Tracing's Worth

tameshiyaku

I can't tell the difference of 1440p Vs 4k, I can't tell the difference between everything over 40fps, I don't know if HDR is on or off unless I check what my TV says, and ray tracing I can only recognise in some instances.

You know what I do recognise in an instant is bad animations, but nobody ever talks about that. Even a low detailed game can look outlandishly good when the animations are done well.
