I think they're keeping the game connections out of the trailer and for the actual movie. At the same time, I think it won't do cheap easter eggs only for recognitions sake (unlike mario galaxy, MCU/dceu, ready player one). Of course a cynic would say "it's just got the name slapped on it" but you could say the same about re7 and the grace bits of re9. I believe it's more clever than just trying to appease fanboys, because that's seldomly a good choice.
Oh please, the arguments about this causing so much drm trouble for regular customers is just a limp admittance of completely yielding your consumer rights and being fine with that. These "bad tinkerers" bring loads of innovation by trying to make the most out of their own hardware, which is in their right. Piracy never messed up the game for everyone else, but rather corporate greed and obsession with control. For goodness sakes, don't be such tools.
Dunno, I'm fine with U4 but I definitely preferred the lighter tone of U1-3. Felt like they had to give it the grown-up treatment after the last of us, full with unnecessary artificial interpersonal drama that just didn't need to be there.
@PuppetMaster I love the length of the resident evil games. Uncharted and MGS games also have such perfect lengths that invite for repeated playthroughs. The average survival horror is around 10-12 hours, and re9 is 6h in a speedrun, not a first-time experience.
I don't get why people expect extremely long play times to justify it's price. Sure, it shouldn't be over too fast, and some RPGs should be epic time sinks, but there's nothing I dislike more than a game that doesn't respect the players time. Especially as console gaming is increasingly becoming a ≥30 demographic, we don't have that much time!
Awesome, can't wait. What would be cool to shorten the wait would be a PS5 update with slight visual enhancements and the option of a directors cut, where the games length is shortened and condensed. Even the Devs said that despite it being a great game, is was just too long for a horror game. Having a shorter directors cut would definitely move me to replay it more often.
Let's see, down the line I can see myself giving it a shot. Of course not an optimal launch. We can throw all imaginable snark and negativity around, but it won't make gaming any better. Enjoy the good stuff, and other stuff can be good down the line. There's no reason to be impatient as none of us are running out of games to play.
People here sure need purchase-choice affirmations 😅 Maybe pushsquare can make an 8-hour sleep meditation with gentle whispers like "900€ are absolutely worth every cent... when you sit directly in front of the screen", "if you got a pro, you are a pro", "the games will come".
Seeing the pixelated studio logo just made me feel very fuzzy 😀
There are few things I like more than Japanese cinema. Not just the zany stuff every weeb connects with Japan, but actual cinema like from Ozu, Koreeda, Kitano, Fukasau, Kyoshi Kurusawa, Suzuki,...
I hope they will make more than just anime adaptations.
So many games focus on visual fidelity and forget about good animation. This one does both and it shows. The fluidity and movement detail really elevates it from the rest. Day 1.
It's true and a good sentiment. Just irks me to think that Devs have to oftentimes make these appeasing statements to avoid unjustified witch-hunts, outrage and slander. We've had several cases of placeholder Artwork or flat out misunderstandings causing a weird crowd of people trying to destroy reputations.
Absolutely more Uncharted together with their new space IP! As much as I appreciate both games, I don't wanna hear the words "the last of us" anytime soon. Sony took it too far shoving it down our throats.
What a wasted opportunity. These physical releases should be a retweaked edition, where they remove the gamble and grind elements and offer a summary of multiple events/seasons, just presented in a more conventional single player campaign. A faster way to get players up to speed on current events. If it were so I could find value in it. This is just a waste of money and more plastic garbage.
Yeah, there's a memory shortage, but it doesn't justify a price increase like that. Corps are just using this to test what they can get away with, without taking the blame. Also, as things are going for open ai, they might be out done for by the time the ps6 goes into production.
@MrPeanutbutterz agree! story wise absolutely. I haven't seen many games that reach cdpr's extraordinary writing, both in main and side quests. However, I had game breaking bugs playin w3 at release.
Crimson desert looks like it offers fantastic gameplay, but yeah, the story won't even come close to w3.
I can imagine this to be a masterpiece in a year from now. People seem to forget, especially after cyberpunk, but the Witcher 3 also became the masterpiece it is after many, many patches.
I wouldn't dismiss it right away. It'll become more sophisticated over time, latency and ghosting will reduce and I can imagine this to eventually become indistinguishable to the naked eye. However, it always needs to stay an option on top of stable native frames.
I doubt anyone wanted to undermine pssr2s launch, but whatever push square. This is I believe most embarrassing for DF however. All the gushing about it felt so acted and cringe worthy.
This is the title I'm most looking forward to. I been clambering for a new Onimusha for years, unfortunately the dragon's dogma people were louder.
However, the way the gaming community is, I think not enough people will show up to actually buy it. I really hope they do, but it's hard to imagine. The same goes for Okami 2. I guess the world just didn't deserve clover studios, but I'm happy we still have platinum.
@TrollOfWar it's really a piss poor showing, and I could imagine that even if they should try to reach out to actual sources they'd not get any replies because of lack of credibility. Once in a while we get nice little pieces, usually when the crew is traveling to Japan, and I do compliment it in the comments, but other than that it's just milking some rando social media rage bait.
Been saying for ages that pxplay us a superior solution.
I got it on a phone with a mcon controller (like a pspgo) and an 8inch tablet with a telescopic controller (like a better psportal) and I play those over the internet far away from home. Simply fantastic.
It was a joke, not a serious statement. However, I could imagine some publisher exec demand such a thing. If you make something to appeal to everyone it ultimately appeals to nobody.
Classic console gaming were long dead weren't it for the fantastic work of Japan's big publishers: Sega, Square Enix, Capcom and of course Nintendo & Sony (to a limited extent). Konami is also stepping up and reclaiming it's spot it once had. My money goes to them and to all the wonderful indies. The big American publisher's however have truly failed the medium and wrecked the business with it's overblown budgets and wreckless handling of labour.
I can't tell the difference of 1440p Vs 4k, I can't tell the difference between everything over 40fps, I don't know if HDR is on or off unless I check what my TV says, and ray tracing I can only recognise in some instances.
You know what I do recognise in an instant is bad animations, but nobody ever talks about that. Even a low detailed game can look outlandishly good when the animations are done well.
Uncharted can go in different directions. Either branching out from one adventurer to another (my preference), or have Nathan Drake be like James Bond or the Simpsons, never aging, yet always contemporary. I could see both working. It's pulp fiction, so I don't see it being "depleted" from a story perspective.
