@PuppetMaster Leon definitely and probably Chris, but Jill hasn't been seen since Revelations, which was a side game and took place before 5 (I'm not counting the CG Alcatraz movie she was in). I feel like she, and Claire to a lesser extent, deserves a lead role in another game. The last mainline game where Jill was playable was Nemesis.
I bought a Legion Go S, Steam OS version with the Z1 extreme chip mainly to play Black Mesa...and the game crashes at the same point each time - monorail ride at the beginning, going into a larger area. This was my first and last foray into the portable PC space - at least with PS5, I know most games will at least be playable, if not at launch then with subsequent patches.
I really don't care either way about sprint. I just want a waypoint marker that can be activated whenever, because it is way too easy to get turned and lost in the various levels of that game.
@Cvantez Exactly. Seemed worth mentioning that their relationship is closer than - "used to be an advisor for Trump during the first term," which was already four years ago.
@TheArt Honestly that's one of my favorite things about Uncharted 4, how the shoulder strap is clearly visible when a rifle/long gun is on Nate's back, and then when holding it, the strap moves around as he does. Heck, when you get into the jeep, he even takes the gun off and sticks it next to the driver's seat. The level of detail in that game is truly impressive.
I don't like how the shotgun and submachine gun don't have a visible shoulder strap while mounted on the character's back. It may seem nitpicky, but that always irks me. Like, how is the gun staying there? Is their back magnetic?
@FullMetalWesker Exactly my point. 1 & 2 don't work in the same film because 2 takes place several days after 1. It was just bizarre to see STARS Alpha team landing at the Spencer Mansion around the same time that Claire shows up. In fact, it makes even less sense because the first half of 3 takes place before the 2 as well, but in the film, Jill is still inside the mansion, and Brad gets killed right off the bat in the helicopter.
I just want to see RE1 on its own properly turned into a film. Even a semi competent director could use the Spencer Mansion as a character in itself, and there's plenty of backstory involving what led to it becoming infested to help fill a 90 to 120 minute film.
@PuppetMaster I wasn't a fan of the RE3 remake because of the cut locations, and yeah, it seems like there's been nary a mention of Sheva since 2009. Honestly, I'd take any of the heroines over another Leon story. And it's wild that we got two Ethan Winters stories before anything with Rebecca, Claire, Sherry, etc
@AdamNovice Seriously! The last game that she was playable in was Revelations, which released in what, 2012? And technically that took place before the events of RE5. I know she was in the last CG film, but Jill is definitely deserving of her own mainline game again. No offense to Leon the character, but it feels like he gets a disproportionate amount of attention compared to Jill.
@mary1 I was talking about how the original characters were used as opposed to Alice and a slew of others who never appeared in any of the games, as well as the Spencer Mansion, RPD, and Raccoon City itself. Compared to the six Paul W.S. Anderson films, it was closer to the source material, but obviously not close enough because the events of RE1&2 did not happen at the same time. That was the point I was trying to make. And honestly speaking, Jill and Leon being race-swapped was the least of that film's problems.
Didn't love Barbarian, but I thought Weapons was incredible. Slightly optimistic about this, but at the same time I wish a director would adapt JUST Resident Evil 1, with possibly some RE0 sprinkled in as flashbacks or something. Welcome to Raccoon City fumbled the ball because Johannes Roberts, for some reason, decided to cram BOTH RE1&2 into a single 107 minute film, and the story suffered for it, despite the faithfulness to the source material that was attempted.
@Westernwolf4 Tbh, I've played it on Switch, PS4, and Android, and I've yet to finish it. It starts off very interesting, with you building up and managing your officer and detectives, while tiptoeing between two rival crime families and a less than helpful - if not hostile - mayor.
But after awhile, the game gets quite tricky and a little arbitrary, in my opinion. You can decide which officers to send on a 911 call, but a lot of the time the callout will end in failure even if you sent what you thought were enough high-level officers (100 is like the baseline). But if you send too many on one call, you'll have to ignore another subsequent call because the officers you sent out haven't returned yet. Plus there's certain objectives you have to complete by a set date: earn x amount of money, don't let a particular crime boss gain too much power, etc.
The problem I have with all of this is that, to my knowledge, there's no save system. So I if you happen to mess up and miss any of these objectives, then it's game over and you have to start over from the very beginning.
I had Game Pass back when my Series X still worked, and I just didn't play enough games on there to justify paying for it. The last game I played through on Xbox was Starfield, and I was playing only that for about a month. Aside from a few specific games that I wanted to play, I just didn't feel like downloading and trying the vast majority of titles on there.
@ApostateMage Seriously! One of the first gameplay videos showed V walking in her apartment in third person before transitioning to first person. But yeah, ultimately the game ended up being great on PS5.
Cyberpunk would've greatly benefitted from a conversation system similar to Deus Ex Human Revolution, Mass Effect, etc, that allows you to actually see your V talking and what they look like, instead of just your hands gesticulating. I'd love to see this added in a future update but I doubt it'll ever happen.
@Spedfrom I generally agree with you. I found Lady Dimitrescu to be one of the most overhyped villains in my opinion, and the first person perspective was kind of wonky. Like when you switch weapons, Ethan does it so fast that he appears to have more than two hands.
I've played all of the games, including Judgement, and finished all except Gears 5. Honestly, I'm just waiting for remasters of 2 & 3 to be announced before I even think about playing this on PS5, as those games are still stuck in their original 360 versions and are in far greater need of sprucing up.
@get2sammyb This kind of reminds me of that game Agony a few years ago. There was so much talk about it possibly being censored, and then it released and was a complete dud. Not saying Hellraiser will turn out the same, just that it seems similar, at least to me.
@twitchtvpat True, but I always appreciated RE3 because it let you actually explore Raccoon City after the first two mainly had you in the mansion and police station.
What should've happened to begin with, considering how well the first game sold on PS4 and likely contributed to Ninja Theory being acquired. But still, better late than never.
@LiamCroft Thank you for mentioning Cyberpunk, because every time I hear about a game going gold, I think about how that was delayed after the announcement 😆
I generally enjoyed Starfield - played close to 130 hours until I neared the lackluster ending and ran out of steam before my Series X decided to call it quits. So I'll definitely be jumping back into this once it launches on PS5, my preferred console, and am interested to try out the quality of life stuff that was patched in since I last played.
Aside from Forza Horizon 5, I'm seeing games in this top 10 list that all would've come to PlayStation anyway had Microsoft not made the fairly unprecedented move of purchasing two of the largest publishers in the games industry.
I tried getting into Warframe a few years ago, but I had absolutely no idea what was going on with the story. Appreciate how Digital Extremes goes about their business though.
I generally prefer stories that are told chronologically and don't jump around. The chronological mode worked wonders for Beyond Two Souls in my opinion, and I'm looking forward to playing through TLoU 2 again now.
