Lara Croft is one of the most iconic protagonists in gaming, so every time she gets a new voice actress it’s big news.
Keeley Hawes most recognisably played the character from Tomb Raider: Legend through Tomb Raider: Anniversary, before ceding the role to the younger Camilla Luddington for the survivor trilogy.
But reimagining Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis and Tomb Raider: Catalyst will see seasoned voice actress Alix Wilton Regan step into the heroine’s iconic shorts.
Some of you will be familiar with her work from a variety of different games, including Cyberpunk 2077, where she played Alt Cunningham, to name one.

In a press release, Amazon Games said that “Regan’s dynamic portrayal of Lara reinvigorates gaming’s most iconic heroine with fresh spirit and depth, marking a new era in the Tomb Raider franchise”.
And speaking on Instagram, the star said that “being revealed as the new Lara Croft is the absolute highlight of my career to date and surpassed even my wildest dreams”.
Legacy of Atlantis is effectively a remake of the original game, and so takes place after the survivor trilogy. Meanwhile, Catalyst occurs even later than that, so it’s clear dev Crystal Dynamics is looking for a more confident, mature Croft here.
We reckon Regan’s going to do a great job!
