In the absence of Dino Crisis, TeamKill Media's upcoming shooter Code Violet looks set to fill the void.
The PS5 exclusive sci-fi action horror title has been on the radar all year, and was expected to launch back in November. Unfortunately, it hasn't hit its launch plans, and has been delayed to 10th January 2026.
However, with this delay comes some good news: Code Violet has now gone gold, meaning the game is effectively finished, and the remaining time will presumably be spent squashing last-minute bugs.

All this news comes via a lengthy statement posted on the studio's social accounts:
In a nutshell, the team ran into some issues relating to "unlocking entitlements" for the game's deluxe and pre-order editions, and to circumvent all that, it's decided to simply release one standard edition of the game.
This version will include "all the bonus outfits, items, and perks", so those who wanted the deluxe editions won't be missing out. That said, anybody who pre-ordered the deluxe edition will be receiving full refunds.
TeamKill Media is working to get Code Violet back up on the PS Store for pre-ordering.
It sounds like we'll be seeing more gameplay and trailers of the game in the lead-up to its launch in the new year.
It's been a bit of a bumpy road to release, then, but despite the delay, this seems like a net positive outcome. Hopefully the game can deliver a good experience that's worth the wait.

People should really be aware that the developers of this game are the same ones who made the terrible Quantum Error (2023). I do not believe their upcoming game is going to be good at all.
@iNightfarer Was about to say, these Devs have a TERRIBLE track record/history, and nothing shown about this would lead one to believe this will be any different... Don't understand articles like this about it? 🤷♂️ Do people not know? Are they just blinded because it's kinda like Dino Crisis? Whatever 🤣
@MrRhysReviews maybe we should worry about our own self stop worrying about what other people do with their own money
The sensible part of my brain tells me to steer clear of this because it looks like trash, but my lizard brain just wants to blast dinosaurs 😅
@Slayer25c Wow, yes, thank you for your valuable insight 😒
Are these the guys who also made Son and Bone? Because the dino animations in that weren’t great. I mean the game as a whole was one repetitive slog so I have no hope for this!
I don't have high expectations for this, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't morbidly curious. I would love some solid B games.
I would be 100% skeptical about this game and wait for reviews, something about it just seems off...
@Oram77 What seems off is their last game stands at 3.5/10 user score on Metacritic, and this title seems just as overly-ambitious for a team of 4 people.
This looks like 100% AI slop.
Doesn’t help that these same people made Quantum Error.
Announcing "gone gold" and "delay" makes me think they really don't understand what "gone gold" means.
Not that anyone in the industry does anymore, more like "gone bronze", then patch it after release to get to silver, celebrate the 1 year anniversary by finally going gold.
We're all paying to be beta testers these days.😩
@Oram77 the fact that it's only a digital release and no physical editions will be available is a red flag already
There's not much fan fare for this anyways, and people can wait for reviews. If anybody just pre-orders stuff blindly and it turns out to be a dud only have themselves to blame.
Despite looking like it being made by Unreal assets and ai, the trailer had a fun A or AA charm to it, but I'm not holding my breath.
I want it to be good. I've just replayed Dino 1 and 2. But I know it'll be bum nuggets. But still dino's and guns....
I’m definitely going to play this at some point, but probably not until it inevitably goes on sale.
Remember, Cyberpunk went gold and was subsequently delayed.
@Slayer25c I don't think warning people about a dev team with a very dodgy track record in quality is unreasonable. It's a mere heads-up rather than a call to action.
Please can we just have a new Dino Crisis, or a remake?
They should have delayed it for another year.. from what I've seen it still needs A LOT of work 😬 some of the jankiest animations out there
I’m just not sure. The gameplay I’ve seen…there’s just something weird about it. It just doesn’t feel like a real game. Here’s to hoping I’m wrong.
