Microsoft has officially confirmed Forza Horizon 6 will launch next year, but it won't be coming to PS5 day and date with other platforms.

The wording is as follows: "Discover the breathtaking landscapes of Japan and become a racing Legend at the Horizon Festival in Forza Horizon 6, which will launch first on Xbox Series X|S consoles and PC in 2026, and PlayStation 5 post-launch." Nevertheless, a PS5 version is planned for the future — you shall just have to wait for it to arrive after the Xbox, PC launch.

The teaser trailer doesn't actually feature any racing, but it does confirm the sixth entry will indeed be set in Japan — as previous rumours and leaks have suggested. You can catch it above.

Speaking on the Xbox Wire website, art director Don Arceta is pleased to finally bring the Forza Horizon series to Japan after it topped fans' wishlists for years. "Japan has such a unique culture – from cars, to music, to fashion – that make it perfect for the next Horizon setting."

On the kinds of environments and specific locations from Japan that'll be included in Forza Horizon 6, it's said: "From the neon lights and towering buildings of Tokyo City – one of our most detailed and layered environments to date – to the serenity and natural beauty of Japan’s rural and mountain areas, we think players will be blown away by the open world of Japan that we have built." Of course, Mount Fuji also features in the teaser trailer.

More information and gameplay will be shared early next year, but for now, Playground Games confirms the Seasons feature will be returning. "For Japan, seasonal changes have a dramatic impact on the landscape and playable world, but also hold a deeper cultural meaning for the country and its culture."
