Retro compilations are becoming more and more prolific, so at this point we’re not surprised to see the Nickelodeon Splat Pack revealed for the PS5 by Limited Run Games.
This collection features a trio of 16-bit titles inspired by some of the most popular Saturday morning cartoons from the 90s. Unfortunately, there’s no Ren & Stimpy here. You stooped eee-diot!
Here’s the full lineup:
- Aaahh!!! Real Monsters (SEGA Genesis, SNES)
- Nickelodeon G.U.T.S (SNES)
- Rocko’s Modern Life: Spunky’s Dangerous Day (SNES)

Each game will be emulated in Limited Run Games’ proprietary Carbon Engine, so you can almost assuredly expect quality of life improvements, like save states and rewind – although these aren’t mentioned explicitly in the press release.
There’s also no release date just yet, but physical pre-orders will be available from 19th September to 19th October.
You’ll have three options on the boxed Blu-ray front:
- Standard Edition ($34.99)
- Blu-Ray Game
- Classic Edition ($69.99)
- Blu-Ray Game
- VHS Slipcover and VHS Tape Box
- 12" x 16" Double-Sided Poster
- Retro Nickelodeon PVC Keychain
- Sticker Sheet
- Collector’s Edition ($129.99)
- Blu-Ray Game
- VHS Slipcover and VHS Tape Box
- 12" x 16" Double-Sided Poster
- Rocko Shirt Lanyard
- Aggro Crag Light-Up Desk Ornament
- Retro Nickelodeon PVC Keychain
- Krumm Plush with Magnetic Eyes
- Enamel Pin Set
- Six Crazy Caps
- Sticker Sheet
It’s a bit of a hap-hazard collection from our perspective, but we assume licensing has held up potential other inclusions in this package.
Nevertheless, we’re always excited to see more retro games brought to modern platforms, so we’ll certainly be revisiting our childhood here – how about you?

This is one of the weirdest releases I’ve seen lol. Such an interesting yet small compilation of old Nickelodeon games.
This is really cool. I love all the retro stuff releasing. Keep it coming!
That's pretty neat, but that GUTS game is absolutely atrocious. I kinda applaud Limited Run for still putting out the dregs of gaming history. Will I be giving them $130 for it? No. No I will not.
When's Ren and Stimpy at?
The only Nickelodeon 90's show i ever watched was Rugrats, Hey Arnold, Spongbob, Ren & Stimpy, and Animorphs. So i'm not familiar with these three. But it's nice to see 80-90's show and games got some revival.
Rocko's Modern Life was classic television
I wonder, if there will be some resolution increase on "Aaahh!!! Real Monsters" ?
As much as I love Ren and Stimpy, does anybody really want more money going John K’s way?
Would love to see the PlayStation Rugrats games release, really want to replay the reptar is missing (I think that was the name of the game ) lol
Cool, me and my sister back in the day used to love the rugrats game on the PS1 with the golf mode and what not.
This is a collection I didn't expect. The selection is small but that's the result of licensing, I guess. However, the price tag, even for the standard version, is a bit stiff. I'd wait for a sale (on the digital version. You know this print run won't last).
LRG continue to push the boundaries of the smallest amount of content they can give you for the largest amount of money. 😂
Only putting those 3 games and excluding the others kinda kills it for me personally (especially for that price) since there are still other ways to play them.
@Americansamurai1
Search for Reptar I believe it was called.
I’d love a re-release of some kind for Sheep Dog n Wolf but not sure if I’d want LRG to do it though
Hopefully some day we get a port of ed edd n eddy the misedventures. Ed edd n eddy is my favorite cartoon and I remember enjoying the game as a kid.
