Who Is Playing Wolverine in Insomniac's PS5 Game?

There will only ever be 1 Wolverine.

From the video I watched earlier I think he's going to nail it.

He won't get a fair shake by some though I imagine

Not seen enough to make a fair judgement yet but it seemed good enough to indicate he has strong potential to play the role well.

@Damage99 Here we go again. Poor Liam will replace a beloved actor who’s become synonymous with a character and catch hell for it. Guy can’t catch a break lol.

Not convinced yet on the casting but maybe just have to see more. Anyone else think we're going to get some Mary Jane sections in the form of mystique?

@AhmadSumadi Mostly I was being cynical but yah, it's an uphill battle. It's not impossible but there is a reason he's beloved and synonymous with the character. Put that against how there have been 10+ Superman, Batman, Spiderman, etc. I mean, it speaks for itself.

Sometimes a performance just knocks it out of the park such as Mark Hamill's Joker or the late Kevin Conroy's Batman. Amazing performances that redefined the characters. There is a chance for this to happen with Wolverine but it will be tough to upstage Hugh Jackman.

Hugh jackman is wolverine no one can replace him it's like trying replace robert englund as freddy krueger I hope this guy does well though but I know it would cost to much have Hugh jackman

@Damage99 Heath Leger could’ve been this for Joker had he gotten a chance to do more films. Chadwick Boseman was great as T’Challa but I feel like since he only did 1 film that they should recast the character. I get it though with Jackman though. He did Logan for 2 decades. Hard to change after that.

Anyone wondering why this guy looks familiar. He was the second Spartacus on that show.

There was a brief moment very early on in the trailer where I thought it was Jason Bateman playing wolverine 🤣 but thank christ I was wrong..

Never seen anything else with this dude in, but he seems to be doing a good job from what we've seen. It's never enviable to step into a role which has become synonymous with a certain actor but he could win people round.

It's interesting that a few others have said that Hugh Jackman is the only Wolverine (jokingly or otherwise). I get it though, it's hard to see any other after he's had the role after all these years. For me personally, it'll always be Cal Dodd. His Wolverine voice is ingrained in my brain after hearing it so much as a kid in the cartoon and Capcom's Marvel fighters. I do like Insomniac's choice though. Can't wait to see/hear more.

He was very good as Taron Malicos in SWJedi Fallen Order - the fallen Jedi on Darhomir near the end.

I thought his voice was great and from what we've seen in the trailer it looked like he has nailed the performance. I'll obviously have to wait until I play it to see exactly how good he is in the role but that trailer has left me confident he'll be able to pull it off.

Much like the original cast of the Harry Potter movies will always be known for those roles, Hugh Jackman will always be the wolverine👀

Sure Hugh Jackman is iconic but he's not the first Wolverine nor he's irreplaceable. For people like me who grew up with X-Men: The Animated Series and fighting games like X-Men: Children of the Atom, Marvel Super Heroes, and X-Men vs SF back in early 90's, Call Dodd is THE Wolverine.

I only watched Spartacus season 1 though so i didn't know Liam replaced the first actor who passed away (RIP). From the trailer, so far i think he did a good job.

Massive Spartacus fan, very happy for him to snag this role. And the game looks better than I thought it would, pretty stoked now…

Only thing I care about is hoping he can wear normal clothes instead of always yellow spandex

@Deljo I think it was fine, aside from the fact that they milked it a bit. But, it was in part cause the actor that played the first Spartacus died.

Honestly, he seems a lot more Wolverine, in physique and in enthusiasm for the role, than Hugh Jackman ever did. I've also never been the biggest Jackman fan, so McIntyre stands out to me. Finally a Marvel-Insomniac game that I'm actually interested in!
