Sony and developer Ultizero Games have just pushed out a new patch for their widely panned action game, Lost Soul Aside.
Taking the game to version 1.009, the patch includes a number of bug fixes, improvements, and optimisations to create a better all-round experience.
As you can see in the patch notes above, the update focuses mainly on gameplay optimisations. These include things like rebalancing shield durations, the invincibility window of greatsword skills, and improving ray-traced shadows.
It seems like a pretty hefty update, so anyone still enjoying the game should get it installed.

Lost Soul Aside released back in August after a protracted development period, and unfortunately it was widely criticised for a number of reasons.
In our own review, we praise the combat, but lay into basically everything else.
Hopefully, post-launch support, such as today's patch, will go some way to enhancing the experience.

I still really enjoyed this game, particularly after one of the very early patches added a bit more impact to the combat, possibly via sound and visual effects.
Was it the best, most original game ever - absolutely not, but a lot of the criticism it got was overly harsh, particularly on the character/story front which were perfectly serviceable. But, as I said, I enjoyed it - 7.5/10 would be fair.
They do really need to remove motion blur and reduce the auto save stutters though. Hoping this happens before my 2nd playthrough.
This game is terrible. Wouldn't play this even if we were in a crazy game drought. But the games have been flowing in for over a month now and the backlog grows. No need to make time for rubbish
I guess a decent released game is not happening anymore. Why release decent game if you have your payed playtesters who will pay extra for thing like early access. The thing that made the game cheaper in the past because you are playtesting the game for them.
I'm glad the developers are still doing their best to improve the game. I just wish they didn't release it with such a hefty price. $30-$40 would have been perfect. Hopefully, down the line, they'll consider lowering the price.
Maybe it’ll be worth playing in a few years.
@nessisonett probably lost to the void, only to be remembered when it appears in ps plus 🫣
The game needed more time to cook in the oven.
I bought it to support the studio but my backlog is massive and this game is getting patches till at least the end of the year so I can wait
@Rich33 One of the biggest problem with a lot of gaming media and gamers these days is if a game doesn't have a lot of yapping, long cinematic cutscenes, or deep/complex characters, they will slam that game to the ground. The mentality is like God forbid for a game to have serviceable or even non existent story and just focus on gameplay :/
@PuppetMaster
And I do like that sort of game too, but I failed to see how the story / characters here were any worse or less original than a number of other games that have been rated higher. It was fairly predictable in the most part, but as you say the story was always meant to be 2nd place to the gameplay here.
The graphics were good in my opinion except from some very poor pop in of foliage and shadows; and performance was generally good in the most part - except auto save stutters, and the occasional fairly short dips in a couple of boss battles. (Nb Pro - I cant speak for base PS5). Cut scene transitions could be a bit 'janky'.
The combat was very good, there were some good ideas here too, and most importantly, it was a fun game that moved at a decent pace and didn't often outstay its welcome in any section.
There are a lot of little minor issues, but nothing major, and certainly not things I couldn't also say about a lot of other games, yet reviews and opinions seemed to pile onto it. As I said, 7.5/10 sounds fair.
The 3 biggest issues were that it should have been £10 cheaper, Sony publishing it led to excessive expectations, and the demo did it no favours - oddly the victor boss fight from the demo is much easier in the main game, and he even has a different move set!
I didn't know this game came out. Is there a demo?
Nevermind. There is a demo, just checked. Downloading now.
Will play it when the game has an fitting/appropriate price (€40)
They really shot themselves in the foot with the €70 pricing.
