Re: Namco's Arcade Oddity Armadillo Racing Makes Its Console Debut on PS5, with Trackball Support

Regarding Sega yea idk what the hell they’re doing but we will know they’re sitting on hundreds of classic arcade titles I would easily pay $10 per for most of them! I don’t get it!

  • I LOVE what Hamster is doing but honestly with the console ports it there’s no English then NO SALE for me. Waiting for better selections so keep em coming!
  • regarding the trackball I’d love to get hold of one just to play a proper round of Arkanoid!!

Re: Sales Data Paints a Very Grim Picture for Physical PS5 Games in the USA

joey302

As a collector, I will always prefer to buy physical games over digital whenever possible unless:
It’s only available digitally.
Disc requires any partial or full downloads and what’s the point except for having the box art.
“Online mode and/or account is required”
The Digital version is dirt cheap so I don’t get screwed that bad one day when they shut it all down.
Problem sometimes is that the publishers release a digital version and then 6 months later they announce a physical version and that never helped physical sales. Not everyone can afford to double dip! But even when I buy digitally I look out for “offline only” (purchase) or “online and/or account required” (no purchase) because as we all know once those servers are killed that’s that.
I also feel that after the Covid lockdown people just stopped hopping into their car to go to GameStop, Best Buy etc and really accelerated the transition to digital over physical. That all said again, physical will always be my preferred choice whenever possible and now it seems those days are numbered! 🙄🤬

Re: Poll: $1,000 and No Disc Drive - Is PS6 Dead on Arrival?

joey302

As an added thought and of course wishful thinking on my part, I would EASILY pay 2 GRAND for a PS6 right off the bat IF it played ALL previous PlayStation system disc libraries all the way back to psone!! THAT would definitely be worth my money and I’d probably buy 3 of them over time LOL 😝 one can dream!

Re: Poll: $1,000 and No Disc Drive - Is PS6 Dead on Arrival?

I used to always be a day 1 launch console buyer but in this case I will sit tight for a long while just on price and eventually IF I buy it will depend on the set up. No doubt backwards compatibility is going to be a thing for most despite no disc drive and thank goodness for that for digital purchases at least. HOPEFULLY like PS5 they will put out an optional disc drive attachment that will run PS5 and dare I say PS4 discs?? Just as I was hoping PS6 would FINALLY bring us some true native PS3 backwards compatibility too! Ughhh.

Re: 'You Will Own Nothing and Be Happy': PlayStation's YouTube Comments Are a Horror Show

Another terrible non consumer friendly decision Sony made here! I’ll just bet the use of emulation is going to spike big time. As it is I have a few emulated Genesis mini and SNES/Nes and OG Xbox consoles with thousands of classics that wouldn’t normally be available today due to licensing restrictions etc. Say what you want but it’s really the only way to enjoy most games you grew up with that simply aren’t available anymore and NEVER will be again.

Re: Arcade Classic Arkanoid Hits the Bricks on PS5, PS4 Very Soon

joey302

How’s it gonna be with a PS4/5 controller?? Can’t possibly compare to a trackball, mouse or dial controller. Very important or the game as much as I love it, is worthless or near unplayable which would be a shame as it’s one of my all time favorites from the Amiga days- WHICH HAD A MOUSE BTW. lol

Re: PS4 Will Still Get New Games in 2027

joey302

Well the Atari 7800 is getting lots of new games today and that system launched 40 years ago come next year. lol
PS4’s installed base is so huge it still cannot be ignored by developers today.

Re: Halo Confirmed for PS5, Remake of First Game Out in 2026

joey302

Damn!! Like as if Sega had published Sonic on the Super Nintendo! Crazy stuff! But now I’m curious as to who the hell is ever going to want to buy an Xbox ever again? Now or next gen if there even is one. I don’t fully understand Microsoft’s strategy here. While I understand they will make money with software sales on PlayStation, I feel this will effectively kill the Xbox hardware lineup. 🤷‍♂️

Re: Sounds Like Sony May Finally Be Starting to Wind Down PS4 Support

joey302

I have a ps5 on one tv and a 4 on the other. Between the 2 and with external hard drives on each, I have just about all the games I want access to ready to go. I don’t know what these services are being cut, but as long as I can still play my ps4 game library, I’m good. After all we can still play ps3 games so the same should apply here for the 4.

Re: SEGA Trademarks Arcade Paradise Potentially Hinting at Compilation Bundle

joey302

@romanista played Daytona 2 last night. Such a beautiful game. And VF2 such a classic fighter! And I agree with you…how the HELL has Sega not yet released a classic compilation of ALL the arcade classics they’ve released via these Yakuza games?? It’s outrageous that they haven’t!! lol it almost borders on stupidity! 🤷‍♂️

Re: SEGA Trademarks Arcade Paradise Potentially Hinting at Compilation Bundle

joey302

The vault for Sega’s classic games arcade and console is very deep! Too many to even list! But I’d die for a new compilation! Hope this is going to happen! Even if it’s over several volumes!
If it does happen then the only collection of classics we’d still be missing after all these years is the Midway/Atari arcade classics! Maybe the new Atari can swing it since they’re collaborating with Warner Bros on the new Mortal Kombat collection and supporting the 7800 console again with fresh titles! That would be awesome! 😎 🙏

Re: Rumour: Sony Wants Warner Bros' Gaming Assets, Like Mortal Kombat

joey302

Sony just don’t forget the collection of Midway & Atari Games classic arcade games if you move in for the kill.
Defender - Joust- Robotron 2084- San Francisco Rush- Hydro Thunder- Gorf- Satans Hollow- Gauntlet- Paperboy- Smash TV & a ton of others! Warner hasn’t done a damn thing with all that classic IP since PS3!!

Re: Physical Game Sales See Dramatic Drop-Off in UK as Console Market Struggles

joey302

Hey I always go physical whenever possible so I’m doing my part. I do buy digital games but usually ones that don’t have a physical release or unless the digital version is REALLY REALLY CHEAP! Also being a collector, I still run to GameStop or Best Buy (maybe Target) once a week to see what sales are available. Problem is their selection is getting smaller & smaller which leads me to eBay or Amazon. As far as preservation goes, I’ll be there every time when stuff like the Bubsy or Gex collections hit. Gotta show your support and appreciation for that!
