You might recall that, a couple of years ago, SEGA announced many new games at once in an effort to revive many of its beloved franchises.
So far, only one of those games has made it to market — Shinobi: Art of Vengeance — while the rest remain under wraps for now.
However, in SEGA's latest earnings report, covering the third quarter of its financial year 2026, it sounds as though there might finally be some movement.
The company says it's planning to "release four major new titles for mainstay IPs" within its next fiscal year, which will be between April 2026 and March 2027.

Later in the report is a release schedule for announced games, and while there are no dates attached, it lists Virtua Fighter, Crazy Taxi, Jet Set Radio, Golden Axe, and Streets of Rage — all games we know are in the works.
It's possible, then, that some of these will be coming sometime within that aforementioned period; the idea that we could all be playing a new Crazy Taxi within a year or so, maybe less, is very exciting.
"Mainstay IPs" may well also mean the likes of Sonic the Hedgehog, Like a Dragon, and other active series. The four games SEGA is talking about is probably a mix of everything, but it's exciting nonetheless — we're looking forward to seeing what it has in store.
What do you hope to see from SEGA this year? Tell us in the comments section below.

Fingers crossed for Crazy Taxi, one of my favourite PS2 games that needs a remaster, sequel or at least bringing to the PS Plus Classic catalog
For the life of me I never understood the appeal behind Jet Set Radio.
It felt like something the media and a select group of fans raved about, but I never met a single person in real life who liked it!
Then again I was the only person I knew IRL who owned a Dreamcast at the time!
Give me Golden Axe every day of the week though!
@Mattock1987 Tell them I want the Sonic Adventure remakes, but they aren't doing it untill the games are a success.
Very fond memories of JSR on the Dreamcast, a lot of fun.
Been thinking where have these gone. Really it's OutRun I want back, 2006 is still one of the best arcade racing games ever made, but theres no easy way to play it on modern systems. I still have the PC-CD version, PSP and Xbox. Missed Online Arcade on PS3 before it was delisted.
@PacPern123 Me too, it seemed so weird the sequel was on Xbox, Dreamcast felt like where the game belonged, still remember downloading pictures on the internet browser to the VMU and using them as graffiti, seemed so novel at the time.
How about a new Daytona?
I wonder if they count remakes as new titles? If so Persona 4 Revival is for sure one of the 4.
I have JSR on the Dreamcast & X-Box 360.
The X-Box 360 Version is a Dual Disc with both JSR & GT 2000
on it.
Bring it on!!!
I’d like to see any of their classic racing franchises return, including Sega Rally and Daytona. But do they still have the talent to deliver?
Jet Set Radio and Crazy Taxi please.
What if Persona 6 finally comes out this year? It’s surely audacious enough to challenge GTA6.
