Obviously they delisted the ps2 versions so those who don’t have will be forced to open their wallets. I have all 3 but still very intrigued. And we can’t play III and Vice City on Xbox one/Series anyway. Good point on the soundtrack as it should be fully intact as they DO have tons of money to restore any expired licenses. The other thing i was thinking to the first commenter here is if I remember right III and Vice weren’t even 3G in size and SA was 4-5G so with that I’d imagine the whole remaster package shouldn’t exceed say 20G in size, which wouldn’t be bad at all. Price will be another story but we will see but I’m gonna guess 40 bucks. $60 would be pure GREED!

Believe it or not my only concern here is what will happen with all the precious Midway/Atari Arcade classic game properties WB owns!! And there’s a ton of them too!! Not that WB has been doing anything with them last few years but we don’t want them to fade into oblivion which classic video game preservation has been a hot topic and concern for this industry these days! Thank goodness my Midway Arcade Origins collection disc is backwards compatible with my Xbox one and series X!! 👍
Ok Sony good news! So now I’m wondering If anyone out there knows the answer to this question: If I deactivate one of my PS3 systems so I can activate another with a larger hard drive so I can download more games, will I STILL be able to play the games I have downloaded on that deactivated PS3 and will it also still run my physical games on that same deactivated PS3?? 🤔🤔 if anyone knows I’d appreciate the answer before I go ahead and pull the trigger lol 😂
As if this whole thing isn’t bad enough you’d think by now Sony would lift the limit of two PS3 consoles to download digital purchases!! Just terrible news!! This is the sort of thing that has modders salivating and I’m glad I have my modded Snes classic with 240 psone games on it!! No choice now really! This makes it all the more necessary. Meanwhile you can get more than just FF 7 on PS4 currently. The Crash and Spyro trilogies come to mind and Crash Racing too. Either way I’m very disappointed with Sony that we have NO way of bringing our PS3 digital PURCHASES FORWARD!!! Lord knows what I spent in that storefront!! 😫
@thefourfoldroot agreed. I predominantly buy physical too. Always have. Digital has no trade in value although one could argue that stores like Gamestop has dismal trade in values anyway. But I keep the older games anyway as I’ve also become a collector over the years more than a gamer now due also to a lack of time with work, kids etc . But the other thing with emulation or backwards compatibility to me is I think most gamers would agree that there’s always a bunch of older games we always wanted to try out but never had the chance. So Whatever option you choose to play older games, I’m sure glad they exist!
@deathaxe I’ve always felt that backwards compatibility for older games is a great feature to have available to us on new consoles going all the way back to Colecovision with the 2600 adapter, the Atari 7800 running 2600 carts and the Sega Master System adapter they made for the Genesis. Pretty convenient I feel.
@thefourfoldroot of course I still have those consoles hooked up as well (my Fat PS3 to play them all) but it’s for me more about the convenience of playing your older games on current gen hardware and maintaining your digital purchases going forward. Besides how many consoles can you have hooked up at the same time anyway lol. And most like me are concerned about the digital aspect of your PS3 purchases and what will happen with the money we invested in them, not the physical games as much.
@vapidwolf I’m willing to bet that many hardcore gamers still have their psone,2 & 3 physical libraries like i do hence the desire for backwards compatibility on ps5. And I’ve never even played a game on my cell phone lol
Understanding that the PS3 is a complicated beastie to emulate, there’s absolutely no reason why PS5 shouldn’t be able to run psone, & PS2 discs right out of the box!! No excuse Sony ...PS3 I’ll let you slide even though that’s the one I wanted most!!
@huyi you think you own these games but you really don’t when they do this sort of thing. While I own over 550 physical PS3 games and thank goodness for that, I still bought so many PS3 digital games over the years that my 250G slim doesn’t even hold em all. I have a white 500G brand new that I never set up as I was preserving it in case my 60G FAT fully BC PS3 or my PS3 slim dies on me. But maybe now with this announcement I should hook it up now and redownload as many digital games as I can possibly fit lol. Thanks for nothing Sony!! Slightly related and At the very least I was hoping that ps5 (which I don’t own yet but WILL get the disc based system) would be backwards compatible with PS3 Or at least psone & PS2 discs. @Flurpsel I’ve rediscovered BF4 again recently after unpacking my games after us moving plus i had to download all the maps that I already owned and then it hit me that I didn’t remember some of the maps at all! Lol sooo I jumped in and been playing it as much as BF1 & 5 lately lol. Yea depending on the map I’ll swap over to engineer or assault but medic is my favorite. I guess I also just don’t have the patience to snipe. I prefer more direct action. In fact I try to avoid even spawning in on a sniper in your squad ha ha because usually they’re so far away from the action. Far as the vehicles i like the ground vehicles but no flying for me lol I’m horrible at it especially the planes & Jets! ☺️
@Flurpsel I don’t really snipe much (cause I suck at it lol) but when there’s a really good sniper out there it can be quite frustrating. I try to stick with the medic as I like to rack up the points with revive and dishing out the Med packs. ☺️
Looking forward to the next entry! I’d pick BF over COD any day of the week! I enjoyed/still enjoying every BF entry since it all began with 1943! In fact I just recently rediscovered BF4! Awesome!
Oh man!! Ive been hoping for this since the day I knew about Night Trap hitting PS4 so I’m in! Day 1! I really enjoyed this on the Sega CD back in the day! Now I can play it without the grainy quality video! Now we just need Road Avenger, Cobra Command and Time Gal next please!!

Nice to know but doesn’t even scratch the surface of the PS4 library. I was under the impression we were going to have full ps4 backwards compatibility if not digital than at least physical?? Bad enough the rumors of BC for Psone, 2 & 3 never materialized

@KidBoruto yea i went back the way i came the problem was i had forgotten how i came in! truthfully i had to rely on YouTube to get me through a few puzzles in Rise but otherwise got through it with no problems. Amazing game. Didn’t touch the DLC either - just too many games in my backlog lol

Played and enjoyed the heck out of Rise. Now playing Shadow and I’m stuck in a cave that seems as if I completed all tasks but can’t get out of the cave. Worse yet, the option to travel out of there from the campfire is unavailable!! 😤🤷♂️
I guess our dreams of BC for PS3 and prior systems is not looking too promising 😔 I could live with BC for psone and ps2 at least. That alone would be awesome! ☺️
@RawnDawn I’m really looking forward to this one & if you liked what you saw then check out the Dishonored games also same developer here. AMAZING franchise and all 3 games on sale dirt cheap right now. This Deathloop trailer has a very similar play style to Dishonored and at first I thought it was going to be a new Dishonored game on PS5 lol.
If you never played Dishonored I suggest you check it out for only 6 Washingtons! Amazing game. Such great atmosphere, graphics, action and adventure with light puzzle solving!
Great news for those who missed a great remaster! I own a physical copy on PS3, Wii U and 360! But I Would love to see Capcom take the next step and bring it to PS4 & Switch!!
