Finally, finally Warner Bros has decided to “finish it” and partner with retro game collection specialists Digital Eclipse to bring the original Mortal Kombat games to PS5 and PS4.

Much like with Atari 50, Mortal Kombat Legacy Kollection is more than just a compilation of retro fighting games: it’s a digital documentary, featuring behind-the-scenes footage and as many versions of the classics as the team could get their hands on.

That includes arcade versions of the likes of Mortal Kombat through Mortal Kombat 4, as well as handheld ports and everything in between. Many of the games will be playable with rollback netcode.

So, what are you getting? Here’s a list, with even more to be announced:

  • Mortal Kombat – 1992: Arcade, SNES, Genesis, Game Boy, Game Gear
  • Mortal Kombat II -1993: Arcade, SNES, Genesis, Game Boy, 32X
  • Mortal Kombat 3 – 1995: Arcade, SNES, Genesis
  • Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 – 1995: Arcade, SNES
  • Mortal Kombat 4 – 1997: Arcade
  • Mortal Kombat Advance – 2001: Game Boy Advance
  • Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance – 2002: Game Boy Advance
  • Mortal Kombat: Tournament Edition – 2003: Game Boy Advance

And yes, Digital Eclipse is going to be absolutely packing this with artwork, design documents, and much, much more. It’s a dream package!
