The PS6 could well be launching in 2027, but that's not stopping the more than decade-old PS4 from getting completely new games. At The Game Awards overnight, it was confirmed that Mega Man: Dual Override will come out for PS5 and PS4... in 2027.

This means the PS4, first released in 2013, will receive an entirely new title 14 years after its release, potentially while a new PS6 console two generations after it enters the market.

Of course, as a third-party publisher, Capcom has mostly free rein to choose what platforms to put its games on. Mega Man: Dual Override will also be launching on the original Nintendo Switch, which is likely why a PS4 version is possible.

Besides this very small list, though, the PS4 has practically been left behind in terms of AAA releases. Mega Man: Dual Override is comfortably the furthest PS4 game out, confirming the old system will see a new release in 2027 — 14 years after it first launched.
