Konami’s all-time classic X-Men: The Arcade Game is coming to the PS5 with six-player online and rollback netcode.
The 1992 beat-em-up is considered among the genre’s finest, and was briefly ported to the PS3 in 2010, before being delisted a few years later.
The game will be included as part of a new compilation from Limited Run Games named the Marvel MaXimum Collection, featuring various retro Marvel titles from over the years.
They are as follows:

- Captain America and the Avengers (Arcade, Genesis, NES)
- Silver Surfer (NES)
- Spider-Man and the X-Men in Arcade’s Revenge (SNES, Genesis, Game Gear, Game Boy)
- Spider-Man and Venom: Maximum Carnage (SNES, Genesis)
- Venom/Spider-Man: Separation Anxiety (SNES, Genesis)
- X-Men: The Arcade Game (Arcade)
Obviously, there are a bunch of different publishers involved here, including LJN and Acclaim as well as the aforementioned Konami, so this must have been a bit of a nightmare from a licensing perspective.
It also means there are a bunch of obvious titles missing here, like SEGA’s Spider-Man vs. The Kingpin, which would have fit right in.
But we reckon what’s included makes for a sturdy package. All of the games will be enhanced with quality-of-life features, like in-game rewind and save states.
There’s no release date attached to this just yet, but Limited Run Games has been announcing these compilations and then deploying them quite quickly, so don’t be surprised if it’s out relatively soon.
