I know we’re only in August 2026, but I’ve been thinking a lot about 2027.
After a bunch of delays to avoid GTA 6, 2027 is already steadily becoming a massively stacked year for PS5. I mean we’re getting a new God of War game six weeks into the new year.
So over on the Push Square YouTube channel, I’m breaking down 20 games that have confirmed 2027 release dates or release windows. There are franchises making their PlayStation debut, long-awaited remakes, and the next games from critically acclaimed developers.
I’ve deliberately not included anything that could launch next year, like Alien Isolation 2, which currently doesn’t have a confirmed release window. We’re sticking to hard facts with this one.
That means I’ll be talking about a game like The Wolf Among Us 2, which I’m still in disbelief is even releasing next year. It’s been like 13 years since the first game launched and nearly a decade since the sequel was announced!
Anyway, check out the video and let me know which PS5 games you’re personally dying to get your hands on in 2027.

Let's not forget all the Level 5 games that keep getting delayed; maybe 2027 will be the year of Professor Leyton and DecaPolice lol
Stacked and also the last year of discs so I’ll be stacking up!
I don't want to watch a video, I come here to read articles. 🤷♀️
@CrazyOldDave agreed
The great race to get your game out before the discs die. Or else people like me will throw rotten tomatoes at the developers (it’s a joke)
Code Veronica remake is top of my list, also Tomb Raider!!!
I keep seeing comedic videos of guys sitting down, turning on their PS5, scrolling through games, then turning off the console. The headline is usually “The state of PS5 right now”. The comments section usually is full of people in agreement.
Anyway. I don’t get it! There had never been a time in gaming in which there has been so much to choose from! There’s something for everyone! There’re so many highly regarded games I’ve still not played because I’m finding lesser known gems (Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden, Echoes of the End, A Plague Tale: Requiem, etc,) that are so great.
A playstation website putting an Xbox in their thumbnail. Shameful.
@AhmadSumadi Sometimes it's the effect of having too many games ironically. They put on the console, everything feels overwhelming and they end up not playing anything. That's why some people rush through games or want short games because they are in a hurry to finish up their pile and then it feels like a chore and they dont appreciate each individual game. It helps a lot to focus on a few at a time and resist the urge of buying too many.games.

But ... but ... but ... discs! ... Not ... allowed ... to ... enjoy ... games ... Only ... allowed ... to ... moan ... about ... end ... of ... physical ... gaming ... Must ... hate ... all ... PS5 ... news ... Must ... not ... play ... PS5 ... games ... Aaarghh!!!
For me console gaming ends with GTA VI. I will get that one, play it till I vomit from it and then I'm out. The future of modern gaming and PlayStation looks too bleak for me.
Of course I am aware that GTA VI is a big part of that future, and that it is shaping it in this bleak direction though.
