Code Veronica remake is top of my list, also Tomb Raider!!!

I keep seeing comedic videos of guys sitting down, turning on their PS5, scrolling through games, then turning off the console. The headline is usually “The state of PS5 right now”. The comments section usually is full of people in agreement.

Anyway. I don’t get it! There has never been a time in gaming in which there has been so much to choose from! There’s something for everyone! There’re so many highly regarded games I’ve still not played because I’m finding lesser known gems (Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden, Echoes of the End, A Plague Tale: Requiem, etc,) that are so great.

@AhmadSumadi Sometimes it's the effect of having too many games ironically. They put on the console, everything feels overwhelming and they end up not playing anything. That's why some people rush through games or want short games because they are in a hurry to finish up their pile and then it feels like a chore and they dont appreciate each individual game. It helps a lot to focus on a few at a time and resist the urge of buying too many.games.

For me console gaming ends with GTA VI. I will get that one, play it till I vomit from it and then I'm out. The future of modern gaming and PlayStation looks too bleak for me.

Of course I am aware that GTA VI is a big part of that future, and that it is shaping it in this bleak direction though.

Each year for the past few years has been pretty stacked. Its why i laugh at those who complain about lack of games or lack of good games.

This right here is the major issue. I have so many friends who are really upset about the end of physical games and pretty much ready to give up on Playstation after the PS5, but because they all want to play GTA6 so much they've given in and pre-ordered it for £90. This is going to send exactly the opposite message to everyone in the industry who doesn't understand video games but has a strong influence.

No.1 for me is final fantasy vii revelations and unless Gen Atlus is also gonna launch that year it's not even close.
Spyro, Veronica and Metro round out the games I want on ps5, with Xenoblade Genesis waiting on the switch side of things for me.

I hope 2027 is the year naughty dog release intergalatic surely its time its crazy to think theyve not released a new game on ps5 excluding remakes and remasters other than that fable final fantasy crazy taxi resudent evil veronika and god of war laurey should be good and mega man as well

The very last year I will be a gamer after 35 years it's finally over, tired of the corporate greed.

Its just Persona 4 Revival for me, and Crazy Taxi World Tour/FFVII Revelation if they come out on disc. I'd like to say Persona 6 as well, but there's no chance of that happening in 2027. After these games, I'm pretty much out.

I vote Pappa the Rapper, whilst on LSD, but seeing as that likely isn’t legal, maybe a light shandy and some party poppers.

Sony may actually have done us a favour with their announcement as it will steer the conversation on things like lifetime digital licences.

Before they could say you can buy a physical copy if you wanted to retain the access now they and the governments of the world will have to look how digital products are licenced.

Rather than trying to fight for a dying medium maybe people could fight for this instead.

@ButteredCrumpet the thing is with life you'll never know when your last game is going to be, but it all started with Sonic the Hedgehog on the Mega Drive when I was 5 years old, so if I had a choice that's probably how it would end.

@Jamesy-2013 same here. I'm not happy about an all digital future but I'll just buy my games in sales. Those that are here saying they won't buy another PlayStation console are full of it. When the PS6 drops they will buy it and we will have to remind them all about the time they said they wouldn't support Sony any more..when they are here complaining about the games again.

@Dampsponge Oh my gosh, Toy Racers! That's the game I was trying to remember the other day! I wanted to pick it up when I'm in Japan, and then get a UK copy too. Just to sit in my cabinet more than anything.

I could not for the life of me remember, huh, well the more you know, thank you!

I also remember getting the 56K modem adapter, Toy Racers and then Chu Chu Rocket, it was a free Dreamcast game you could ask SEGA for on disc, and sure enough it arrived and I was hooked for a while.

The only game i'm most excited to get is Virtua Fighter Crossroad.

@PuppetMaster I’m interested in that game too, but I’m kind of put off from all the swearing in the trailer. It’s nice to finally have the answer to “what if Virtua Fighter had a plot” but I expected it to be more like Tekken in the way that plot was told.

Fable, Metro, Witcher 3 DLC are definitely on my list. Imagine being some lucky soul who's never played The Witcher 3 before then they get to play the original game, the previous DLCs and this upcoming one. I'm kind of curious about Crazy Taxi too, the Dreamcast is one of those few consoles that I haven't yet gotten to so I haven't played the original. Edit I just saw it's also on PS2 and picked up a copy on eBay.

@ShadowRJ I think you can expect VF Crossroads will have better plot and narrative than Tekken if you look at the writing team:

• David Hayter to supervise the world building
• Brad Kane as the lead writer who was one of Ghost of Tsushima writer
• Tsuyoshi Furuta as scenario director who has experienced with Lost Judgement and RGG
• Shinji Yamamoto as scenario writer who did SMT IV and Persona series scenario

@Nalim why would they bother when everything will be streamed on sites like Netflix in the near future anyway? GTA6 is clearly going to be announced for Netflix, and other publishers will follow suit.

They're tied to the PS5 for the time being, but there's no incentives to stick with PlayStation after this generation, especially when all their games are physical. I really don't think Sony has thought this through.

Is something wrong with me? I'm not interested in any of these games...(I will pick up Veronica because its new RE, but the original is my most hated RE...)

I read when I don’t have the ability to watch videos (being in the office, in public, etc.). Clicking on a post on a news website and finding out I can’t consume the content is a bit annoying. Busy for some but souls like and horror don't do it for the gamer in me. Tomb raider, Expanse, Exodus and Wolf Among are up there. Fable too but how are you supposed to fit them all in... 😂😂😂

Really only about 5 games for me so not a great year. God of war, ff7 revelation, fable, exodus, resident evil veronica. Im not totally sold on fable and its coming out at bad time. I think the complaint from sony fans is first party. That is what makes a console. Only one confirmed next year. Pretty sad this far into the generation.

1) A diatribe of words uses roughly the same amount of calories as breathing. So assuming I was close to rest state metabolically, it would mean my diatribe did indeed contain/use calories.

What you really meant was it provided no substance, was lacking in true meaning and wasn’t containing anything worth your time. See how that sounds so much more well thought out as a paragraph than what you wrote? It contains impact as a statement, yours just relates to a moot point. I barely remember what's in the next few months of 2026 I don't care. It's stacked but do I care about any of them. NOPE! XD

2027, same thing, a fair amount of big releases, do I remember them all, no, do I care. No. Gaming is bland and forgettable at this point. The industry hasn't made a compelling video game in years.

Even ones I was excited for don't have the personality or gameplay ideas to justify and are just bad.
