This is great i hope all developers implement this, i'm not a frequent COD player but Zombies would be gone straight away.Loads of games have bolt on multiplayer that i've never touched.
Also if we live in post-SSD what crazy new technology are you using?
@zupertramp Maybe in the longer term, but Devs have said that because of the SSD games will actually be smaller as they don't have to duplicate things. I'm surprised Pushsquare haven't mentioned this in the article as they have reported on it previously.
To all those who really want the wishlist, yes it makes it easier to re-find games that you are interested in or see if they are on sale. However a wishlist is also a marketing tool enabling Sony to see which games the most people want. The most popular games on wishlists are less likely go go on sale or have big discounts, also they are less likely to go onto PS Plus or PS Now. If a million people want a particular game why discount it or add it to a subscription service?
Yep total waste of money from Sony, advertising something that sells faster than they can make them. Either they have a boat load more on the way or they paid for all this in advance.
I skipped through most of that, it was so boring. The UI was probably the last bit of info i wanted. I launch a game and i play.
I has raised the question of do i have to waste time logging in everytime i turn it on like he did. Also this thing will suck so much power it's going off unless i'm downloading, no rest mode for me.
They could easily release just the base games on PS5 and have all the DLC on XBox only, extra sales and content to persuade console switchers. They could even do a Tomb Raider and also release the XBox version earlier too.
@StonyKL Absolutely, i very rarely buy games and i've just downloaded a few games from PS Plus to play. (Lords of the Fallen, Deus Ex, Knack). There are around 250 sat in my library and even though there are loads of them which i have no interest in there are still many which i have not yet played that i want to. Still annoyed that i forgot to add Yakuza Kiwami when it was on, though still haven't played Yakuza 4 or 5 from PS3 Plus
@rjejr I still haven't finished Witcher 3 either, but as they are upgrading it for PS5 for free, i think i will wait to play the DLC.
Though it will probably be christmas next year before i get one. £399 with a game or two, and some saved up PS Plus games. That's assuming we get one every month ans not just the library thing.
£399 so for me it could be a wait, so that's around $520 today (yes i went somewhere else to work it out), so it could be anything when i get around to it. That's for the disc model, i would never buy the digi only
Sony hands out a brand new game to 41 million people and 8 million of them decide to have a go, quelle-surprise. Shows that 30 odd million aren't currently interested, that interests me. Hope they keep the numbers up tho, something different from FPS, be nice if Sony had done this more often. Obviously PS5 games on plus with have to be new ones looking forward to adding them to my library.
This is the way things are going, large numbers of games now are digital only, but what doesn't help is when you release a new big game and don't have enough copies.
Oh, roll on September then, i played MW2 10 years ago, not about to play it again. Fair enough for younger players. Had a look a fall guys, not for me. Maybe sony could send me some of that £10 store credit love instead.
After UBI gave away Watchdogs 2 on PC, it's not a bad shout. Just replaying Mirror's Edge Catalyst, but as i have drive issues, a digital version would be most welcome. But as it's on Access i'm not holding my breath.
Of course i would, i had PS Plus long before online was included. PS Plus has never had a real term price increase (annually) so for me online was still effectively free. As long as they add a PS5 game i'm not bothered at all.
I hope it is true to the game that everytime the characters travel somewhere the enemies have insta respawned within minutes.
This killed the game for me played loads of it but eventually it ground me down, i think the final straw was i was on my way somewhere fought through a ton of enemies, realised i'd gone the wrong way and had to fight them all again to get back.
Hmmm, i would have liked the expansion content to have been put into a sequel. I'm not about to drop almost £50 to play the extra content, maybe they'll release it on PS3, now that would be awesome. (and unlikely)
But for those who have never played it, i really enjoyed it, enough to get the Platinum.
This sort of move won't help the shift to digital but will keep the used game market alive. Which obvioulsy means less for the publishers. A much lower price point with digital only releases would actually gain them much more income and then when physical is dead they can fleece us all they like. Long live physical.
Do we think redeemed means added to library or actually played, as i add everything to my library even if it is of no interest to me, as in 2 years time it may be. i can't see the graphic myself as for some reason the blog comments cover half the article in firefox
Like Meatloaf said '2 out of 3 ain't bad' Looking forward to giving Tomb Raider a playthrough, and will have a go at Erica somewhere down the line. NBA 2K20 not for me at all, but not complaining
Are these game lengths for the main campaign or all playable content? For me main campaign around 15 is a sweet spot, but it wholy depends on the game. sometimes i like to do as much as possible, sometime i just run through the main campaign. It all depend on how much the story grabs me.
I didn't read all the comment (most) but Layden failed to mention a contiuously growing player base, so games may take longer and more money to make, but they can sell many more copies.
Also a 15 hour game, would be cheaper to make and would probably sell more at £40 instead of £55, but would people not see it as AAA because of the price?
And here i was thinking that the only reason for launching a digital only model was to stop peoples kids testing how much they can shove in the slot. Everybody knows Playstations love jam sandwiches.
@Its_Carl_Y-all Totally agree, i played through origins multiple times, forced myself to finish 2 and Inquisition is still sat on my shelf, i'm just at the castle camp thing, i can't even remember what it is called. I understand it gets better after that, and i will get back to it, it's just shifted to the bck of the backlog.
This looks great, why it's taken over 20 years since the last one like this is crazy. Playing x wing and tie fighter probably contributed to me failing my degree and yes i do regret it, education first kids.
This was easily one of the highlights of the show, for those that didn't play it the first time around, get this and enjoy. For those who plan to get this again, enjoy again.
I think it looks amazing, the controller sucks still though, gonna need me one of those remotes too.
@RenanKJ @get2sammyb I did a quick calculation from the disc slot and the console on the stand (using pixel counts as percentage) , height came in at 38cm, (PS4 is 28cm). Shouldn't be that far off unless they have special PS5 smaller discs
Quick calculation tells me that, if the controller is the same size, the PS5 is almost 40cm high in the stand.
EDIT: if drive slot is 12cm (as PS4) console is 38cm high in stand.
The PS4 is 28cm, if true wow that's one big mother
Well still not sure about this, but if the game has giant hotdog zombies in it i think they are onto a winner.
Will defo get it eventually, does look great.
Well i was wrong about there being 3 games, but now we've had 2 sims followed by 2 primarily multiplayer games, tho i enjoyed WW2 campaign. So next month i hope for 2 nice single player RPGs, they don't have to be the best or newest. Assassin's Creed, Watchdogs, Dishonored. Something like that will be great, get to work please Sony

@get2sammyb it would be nice if they would provide you with 2 codes or you have a way of having that account on 2 PS4s as i assume you will be playing this on a pro (for obvious reasons). Then us mere mortals (that are in the majority) could find out how this runs/looks on the base model.
Black Ops 3 was given during E3/Days of play 2018 and was an extra game and we still got our full allocation. It lines up nicely with Days of Play. Fingers crossed this is something similar.

https://www.pushsquare.com/news/2020/03/ps5_ssd_could_reduce_game_sizes_and_save_storage_space
667GB is fine for me as i rarely have more than a few games on the go at once.

Re: Assassin's Creed Is Getting a Netflix Live-Action Series
As long as they realise what killed the movie, yes the animus.
If they get rid of that and just focus on the past it would have potential.
Re: Talking Point: What Free November 2020 PS Plus Games Do You Want?
Something i will actually play, it's been months now.
Firewatch, Assassin's creed, Elite Dangerous
Be interesting to see what they do for PS5, as games are backward compatable it could just be 2 PS4 games as usual.
Re: PS5 UI Revealed in New State of Play Presentation
@get2sammyb Everyone?????

Re: Star Wars: Squadrons - This Might Not Be the Game You're Looking For
@Flurpsel The power system seems to be identical to the original Lucas Arts games from the 90s.
They could have just remade all these for console.
I think a co-op campaign would be cool.
Re: Random: The Internet Is Discussing PS5's Mysterious Bolt
Thought by now you wold have updated us on exactly where on the console this is.
Is it on both or just one?
Disc manual eject screw?

Re: Poll: Has Xbox's Bethesda Buyout Made You Reconsider a PS5 Purchase?
Still looking for the
'Yes i'm buying a PS5, and will wait and see if games i want are Xbox exclusives before i decide on buying an Xbox also.'
option, this poll is basically useless without it as we don't know which games will be exclusives, if any.
Re: Poll: Will You Buy a PS5?
@rjejr I still haven't finished Witcher 3 either, but as they are upgrading it for PS5 for free, i think i will wait to play the DLC.

Re: PS Plus September 2020 PS4 Games Announced
How to raise someones hopes, write 'winner winner' as a tagline, then kick them where it hurts while they are distracted.
At least it's only been 2 months since tomb raider, so maybe another good game at xmas.

This shows that for big releases, physical is very much still alive.
Re: Poll: What PS5 Information Do You Want Most?
Just PS Plus info, my PS4 isn't going anywhere anytime soon, but i'd like to add PS5 games to my library like i did while i didn't own my PS4
Re: Poll: When Will You Buy a PS5?
None of the above, next Christmas regardless of how many games are out.
Obviously you can't cover all options in the poll.

Re: Poll: How Much Do You Think the PS5 Will Cost?

PS4 reduced to £199, pro to £249
PS5 digital £349
PS5 drive £399
Re: PS5 Is Gorgeous in Person, There Are Surprising Features

So 2 more games still to be announced.

Mirror's Egde Catalyst would be great, i need it again as my brother has beaten all my dash times and i traded it in ages ago.
Firewatch/The Order 1886 or an Assassin's Creed game would be good.
Re: Sony Reiterates Sheer Speed of PS5, Processing Is '100 Times Faster Than PS4'
