Re: Talking Point: What Free July 2021 PS Plus Games Would You Like?

TheMysticOne

@Bleachedsmiles i can see your point of view, yet i am not actually paying for something i don't want, i've been a PS Plus member since PS3. So i only paid for the games even when online was free.

So i am still only really paying for the games (i have played online in the past and may do so in the future but that doesn't matter as i pay for the games anyway so online is effectively free) and in real terms PS is cheaper than when it was launched.

My point was that people want a merger between 2 services and a price increase, so forcing a price increase on people who are happy.

PS Plus 47.6 million
PN Now 3.2 million

So people want Sony to merge the services and give a hike to 44 million customers. Not me thanks.

Re: Talking Point: What Free July 2021 PS Plus Games Do You Want?

TheMysticOne

@GADG3Tx87 So you want me to pay more for something i don't want?
I have PS Plus, i get a year when it's on sale. I have a nice catalogue of games which i don't play very quickly.
I currently do not play online and i have no interest in PS Now.

I do agree that the current model isn't perfect, but i am happy with what i get and don't want to pay more.

Also what do you suggest for countries where PS Now is not available?

On a side note, Death Stranding would be a nice addition and The Outer Worlds

Re: Talking Point: Did Sony Lie About PS5?

TheMysticOne

@get2sammyb
'but there are still questions over what developer Guerrilla Games could have achieved if it wasn’t forced to target ageing hardware'

This disrespects developers suggesting they cannot treat PS4 and PS5 as 2 different systems, it's like saying the PS5 version of a game is held back by the XBOX/Switch versions.

They are different systems with different strengths/weaknesses yet get many of the same releases.

There is nothing to suggest Gorilla haven't focused totally on PS5 then scaled back to PS4 or even that the game does not use the PS5 to its full potential because it just doesn't need to.

Re: Poll: Is PlayStation Plus Video Pass the Right Way to Expand PS Plus?

TheMysticOne

As long as the price doesn't go up. It's highly likely that the content they are offering will lose them very little from other outlets.
For me Sony turnover so much money from PS Plus that they could have devs make games just for Plus, they don't have to be AAA and they can release them later for retail on all platforms to maximise revenue.
At least then nobody will be able to say that they have played/own all of the games.

Re: Soapbox: Why Do You Replay Games?

TheMysticOne

I guess you've never watched a movie twice either

I've only replayed games that i can go though with different play styles, such as Fallout 3, Dragon Age, etc
Played Oblivion loads, wish they had trophy patch for it, i would have gone back to it again.
And also for trophy purposes, if i'm going for the plat.

Playing through linear games such as Uncharted are pointless to me, like you say too many more games to play.

Games that can be different everytime are worth it.

Re: Over Half of Players Completed Ghost of Tsushima's Campaign

TheMysticOne

It always surprises me how few people actually complete games, i hope Ghost hold up well as it will only go down.

The older games get the lower the completetion percentage will be as more people are able to pick them up on the cheap to give them a try as opposed to those that have invested more.

The vast majority of games that i have bought i have completed, but those on plus i may just play for a while to see if i enjoy.

Re: Reaction: What Next for PlayStation?

TheMysticOne

In the last 18 months Sony have Aquired Insomniac Games and opened a studio in Malaysia.
Oh and released a new console.

There is bound to be a lul, games do take longer to develop and with studios switching to PS5 they cannot just throw out new games, obvioiusly they could have had some in development.
However at the start of PS4 we had a whole raft of remasters that made it appear as though the market was loaded.
This gen we simply don't need them as games are backward compatable so the market looks more barren.

Personally i think they are doing fine as long as they can maintain the good PS Plus offerings.

Good read though.

This using Bank of England inflation calculator. Will be different in other countries.

Re: Take-Two Boss Believes Players Were 'Ready' for $70 Games

TheMysticOne

Nobody is every ready for a price increase and we had this very same argument when PS Plus went up, yet in real terms AAA games even at 70 are cheaper than they have ever been. It's just a psychological barrier.
Yet like others have said it's nonsensical to pay 70 when in a matter of weeks there will be a price drop. I currently have no intention of ever paying full price for a game ever again.

Re: Last Year, the UK's Gaming Purchases Were 85 Per Cent Digital

TheMysticOne

As others have said not surprising, given the past year.
Since the PS store came online with PS3 i have i believe bought 2 games digitally.
I do however subcribe to PS plus so have effectively have around 9 or so years of games on tap, so well over 200 games just on my PS4.
For the rest i usually buy used when they get below the £15 mark, however if i were rich i'm sure i would throw more money at games early.

Re: Talking Point: What Content Do You Want from Push Square?

TheMysticOne

@get2sammyb Hi thanks for responding, sat down for 30 minutes to check a few things out.
The main thing that sprang to mind was back when we first had the PS5 breakdown. Instead of having one article summing up, there were at least 10 short ones, all on the 18th march.

This did eventually morph into the ultimate guide, which is now a guide, not just a series of links.

And whilst i was back in march i came across this

https://www.pushsquare.com/news/2020/03/nioh_2_update_1_05_available_to_download_now_on_ps4

New patch for Nioh 2, if you want to know what it does click this other link.
I have noticed that more recent patch updates have included the notes.

Just on Thursday we had an article at 4.15pm announcing Ratchett & Clank, then another at 5.30pm about the price.
Did we need both?

Having looked back the short articles that i seem to remember that don't really provide any info are now few and far between , so you have my apologies for that, i do think i am mainly refering to articles that could be one that are split up.
However like i said, you guys need the clicks.

Also it is me, if i am looking for something and i find an one of those articles that is a series of pictures that you have to click through to get all the info i just won't read it and will look elsewhere.

Since i found Pushquare it is very rare that i visit anywhere else and that's down to the team you have.

Thanks for reading, keep up the good work.

Re: Talking Point: What Content Do You Want from Push Square?

TheMysticOne

I know you guys need the clicks, but sometimes there are just too many click bait stories.

Better thought through poll answers, not saying they can't be funny. If i recall correctly recently you had a poll about getting a PS5 and your answers assumed everyone here would be getting one literally as soon as they became available. Not everyone shared this opinion.
Robert did add an answer later to accomodate such a response, but this doesn't always happen.

After an article has been live for maybe a day any legitimate comments that have valid points relating to it are generally ignored, i know you probably can't go back and read everything.
But it would be nice to see some responses to comments that aren't made within an hour of the article going live, especially as many are relased in the midle of the night.

I visit this site at least once a day and really like it, i get that you guys are probably gamers first and journalists second, vast majority is great keep it up.

Re: Feature: Our PS5, PS4 Predictions for 2020 - How Did We Do?

TheMysticOne

This is what i posted on 4th Jan, in the 12 predictions feature.

'

To help manage price points there will be 2 launch consoles, a standard black edition and a white non-disc drive version.
Sony will announce cross gen play on all multiplayer titles between PS4 and PS5, so you can still play COD and FIFA with your poorer friends.
Fallout:New Vegas will be announced for PS5 with no graphical improvement but with virtually no load times.

At least 2 of these will happen.'

I'm sure someone shot me down for suggesting a digital only model.
Shame about New Vegas

Re: Sony Processing Cyberpunk 2077 Refunds for PS5, PS4 Players

TheMysticOne

It's getting to be a bit of a joke now, especially seeing all the games listed.

Maybe games shouldn't be allowed to be released unless they are playable (this verified independently)

At least some went above just fixing their game, No mans Sky - loads of free content.
Assassin's Creed Unity, they cancelled their season pass and gave away the story DLC for free.

Re: Poll: Are You Buying Cyberpunk 2077?

TheMysticOne

@Pac_Bot Good luck with that, i'd like to know too but Pushsquare don't seem to review anything on standard PS4 anymore despite most people having them.

I'm sure someone somewhere will publish/report something

Re: PS3 Gets a Surprise Firmware Update, Available to Download Now

TheMysticOne

I play Civilization revolution almost everyday, i think i'm actually addicted.
Also playing Blag Flag.

I bet Sony and publishers could actually still make some decent money from the store if anyone managed it, i'd take the UK job for commission only. Not everyone can afford newer systems, it would be interesting to know how many active users there still are out there.

So i won't allow myself a PS5 until PS3 is done.

Re: Poll: Do You Actually Play Your PS Plus Games?

TheMysticOne

None of those answers..........

I play all the ones that interest me that i haven't played in the past.

I generally have a scan through your reviews first. But there are so many only a really dedicated gamer could play them all.
But this can take years for me.

Re: UK Scalper Group Claims It's Snagged 3,500 PS5 Consoles

TheMysticOne

@get2sammyb iI've said it before and i'll say it again, Sony could have very easily set up a system where you couldn't purchase a PS5 without a long term active account and lock your pre-order with a code for that account that you have to input when you first start up your PS5 transfering your PS4 profile.

No new profile can be added for 12 months. It makes scalping pointless as they can't buy them, it makes stealing them pointless unless you hang onto them for a year..

It does stop new users, but hey loyalty has to count for something.

Re: PS5 Scalpers Are Selling Systems for $1,500/£1,000 on eBay

TheMysticOne

Said it before, Sony should have done a deal with ebay to take down all PS5 listings, but of course unless you have fixed selling fees ebay will be making a nice packet out of this too.

Sony could have simply sold launch PS5s to existing users, which is locked to your profile for a year, zero scalping then

Re: Poll: Did You Get a PS5?

TheMysticOne

@ShogunRok None of the above.

No, but will definitely get one in the future but not 'as soon as possible'

Seems that sensible option is missing from your poll.

Re: New PS5 Stock Sold Out in Minutes Through Official PlayStation Direct

TheMysticOne

I wonder if there are some at Sony headquarters thinking
'Hmm we could have charged a little more for these'

I do think the pricing is right but someone in accounts will be thinking this.

I also think Sony should have done a deal with ebay and facebook not to resell PS5's for the next 6 months or so.
Or only sold the first batches to existing PS4 users and locked the console to their profile for a year.

Re: Demon's Souls (PS5) - PlayStation's Best Ever Launch Game

TheMysticOne

Just a shame it's only a remake and not a whole new game.

But i suppose there are loads of people out the who will love to replay and many more that have never played it.

Still waiting for New Vegas PS5, still haven't finished it, the load times are what kills it for me, may get back to it.
