Ubisoft has decided to push back its PS5 remake of Rayman Legends so it can receive extra polish, despite the fact the game has already gone gold. A delay after going gold is a rarity; the only other time I can remember it happening was in the leadup to Cyberpunk 2077.
I'm sure Rayman Legends Retold will release in better shape than that, though.
Originally set to launch on the first day of October, in just two and a half weeks, it's now due out on 3rd December 2026.
"While the game has officially gone gold, we have decided to take extra time to make sure every detail gets the care it deserves," explained Ubisoft. To make up for the delay, there'll be an overview trailer published online alongside content creator and press impressions.

Ubisoft hasn't said how this affects the Rayman Origins Enhanced Edition it did have slated to launch on the same day. The remaster of the PS3 title was set to be included in all pre-orders of Rayman Legends Retold, and it has not actually been confirmed if it'll be available standalone. I assume this project has also been pushed back.
Will you still play these updated versions of the recent Rayman titles after GTA 6? Let us know in the comments below.

This is a good call if we're being honest.
Side stepping the laser beam of the GTA Death Star
"The game has gone Gold, which normally means it's finished and the primary game is ready, but the game isn't finished or ready so we've no idea why we even said it was."
But, if it means the game may come out without the obligatory massive day one patch, then I'm all for it.
Aww I was looking forward to this
Yknow what, let em cook, it'll make the game better.
Was looking forward to this on the 1/10/26.
If they have delayed to go after GTA6 then that’s a big mistake.
For £35 they should have kept the original date, now maybe too many will still be playing GTA6 to bother with this game.
I will still be buying this game on the 3/12/26 as it will make a great Christmas game.
December is going to be funny given Marathon S3 has also been delayed to December.
Rayman beating the hell out of Marathon is a real possibility.
But then again even Fart Simulator can beat Marathon player count.
You know what, this is good, my wallet can breathe and this can be my little xmas pressie to myself for being a good boy!
@Crimson_Ridley I'm going to assume the discs are already being pressed if it was just two and a half weeks out. That assembly takes some time. If anything, this more or less guarantees it WILL have a day one patch, at least the physical version.
Good. That gives Ubisoft more time to put the complete game on the disc. But they won't.... so I'll pick it up when it's $20 or less.
