Wow, it's a milestone issue of WAYP yet again. But we'll save the big celebration for 700 next year. This week, we're keeping things short and sweet.
Aaron Bayne
I've got a review game on the go which I can't talk about yet, but I'll also be quite keen to check out RuneScape Dragonwilds with some mates.
Jamie O'Neill
Reaching 650 issues is another nice milestone for WAYP, and while UEP Systems' PS1 snowboarding game has its faults, I'm enjoying Cool Boarders on my PS Vita as a snapshot of extreme sports games in 1997, before Neversoft revolutionised the genre two years later.

I'm finally going to start The Blood of Dawnwalker this weekend. I'm free of reviews for a little while now, so I want to invest a lot in the new RPG.
That's what we're playing this weekend, then, but as always we want to hear from you in the comments section. What are you playing and why? Share your selections in the comments section below.

I have a ton of options but I think I'll settle on playing some MGS Peace Walker since it's now on modern consoles/PC. I haven't played it since it released on PSP so it'll be interesting revisiting it all these years later.
I'm going balls deep into Wolverine.
Probably could have worded that better. Ah well. I stand by it.
Have now placed Final Fantasy Remake on hold currently. Whilst I finally start Silent Hill 2 remake. Due to it recently being announced to leave Extra. Thought it the perfect time to check it out. Was gonna wait until Halloween but this has now pushed the playthrough sooner. And then also abit of Tekken 8 with the son. He has just gotten into it recently and is learning the ropes with Marshall Law. Happy Gaming All
Blood of the dawn walker duelist difficulty is brutal damn you platinum trophy 😂
I've been in bed sick for well over a week so to counteract all of that boredom I've been gaming, and will be this weekend too. Mostly I've been walking the lands of various games and taking in all they have to offer, one of those games won't come as a surprise.
It's quickly working it's way into my heart, and while it borrows some mechanics from other games I've never played anything like it before. I haven't run out of things to see, do, or poke to death with my big spear. That's one part of the game that I didn't think I'd focus on all that much, combat. I knew it was required but I didn't think I'd enjoy it as much. Weeks of spending time in the game means my attacks are faster, hit harder and the game is keeping up by throwing what might be some of my favourite bosses of any game right at me. Without any spoilers I'd have to say that Crow Caller is definitely up there as a favourite. I really like the combat cinematics of each boss fight too and they really do shine. I still can't get over the size of the game world either and still have only seen a small portion of the map. Also I'm a reindeer now.
For yet even more walking I've returned to what was and is still a masterpiece (in my opinion) This is my ninth trek through the lands of Shropshire, otherwise known as the village of Yaughton. Everybody's gone to The Rapture was one of my first walking simulators (thank you @Th3solution) a genre I thought I'd have no interest in, it didn't sound all that exciting. However the story is brilliantly written, it's intelligent, emotional and the score compliments it beautifully. Everything about it on that first playthrough evoked some kind of genuine response. And though I know each story beat and piece of music like the back of my hand the experience of being in that setting and world never loses that original spark, it's really unique.
I originally played it back on Plus+ and on a whim. I shouldn't like it, I prefer to create/build and Teardown is all about destruction/chaos, but that chaos is controlled to such a degree that destruction itself becomes an art. I've spent hours in some levels just working on the prep and planning that goes into carrying off the perfect heist. Prep for me usually involves marking out routes with cans of spray paint, removing walls, taking down whole structures standing in the way, kitting out vehicles, and really pondering unique and efficient ways to get the job done. A big draw for me this weekend is that it's gotten yet another community Mod pack and each one offers something new to see, destroy or visit.
That's it really Happy Gaming Weekend Folks 🍵
Edit: I won't win over and favours with that French village for this one, but needs must.
Playing Dawnwalker. Damn, this game is in rough shape. Push Square's review was spot on (if not a little generous). So, respect. It's fun but needs some serious patching.
Hoping to get the Wolverine platinum ahead of getting Dune Awakening next week.
Nearing the end of Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance. What a trip. I imagine it will take my gaming time through to next week as well. The customization options are deep. Great exploration.
After that? I'm really looking forward to taking the plastic off of Onimusha and need to finish Trails in the Sky FC since SC is now sitting there looking at me.
Go Steelers. Go Buckeyes.
Have a great weekend, everybody.
Finishing first Control(what a game!) before diving into Resonant!
Hope i can make a dent in it before Ocarina and GTA6.
I think I want to dip into Alien Trilogy on my Anbernic SP wannabe. Maybe some Final Fantasy Tactics or Front Mission? I am working so boo.
@GirlVersusGame my seven year old adores Teardown. He is constantly showing me the hijinx he gets up to.
I've achieved the platinum trophy for Bioshock 2 on PS3 last weekend and this weekend, I plan to 100% the game with the few trophies left from Minerva's Den DLC.
After this, my second playthrough of Bioshock Infinite begins.
On PS5 i will be playing Trails in the Sky Remake 2nd Chapter, Aniimo and Echoes of Aincrad.
On Switch 2 it's just Fire Emblem Fortunes Weave for me this weekend.
Son is playing Adventures of Elliot. I don't even know what to play now that I beat Beast of Reincarnation. I've thought about doing post-game of Pragmata, or maybe picking Mina the Hollower back up again. I just don't enjoy how difficult the latter is. I'm not a "git gud" kind of guy. I suck at Elden Ring too.
It's late on Friday, what's happening? Anyway, inevitably I will be playing Skull and Bones. Even after nine months solid.
Finished:
Beat this game again for the 2nd time and i still enjoyed it quite a lot despite it's slower pace & survival horror focus compare to the usual rip and tear Doom.
Since i finished Doom 3 which was quite intense game, this weekend i'm gonna play games with brighter / cheerful vibe and don't involved demons that jump scare me from out of nowhere 😁
Have a nice weekend everyone 🍻
@LikelySatan Your child is going to go far you've raised them well. It's actually gotten really popular because of it's mini-games too. I was originally going to try one random level and see how it played, that turned into days. It's also the closet thing we have to Stuntman until the new one launches.
Also I don't know what an Anbernic SP is but I'm still trying to finish that Trilogy on Playstation One, then Predator on PS2 followed by Alien Versus Predator on PS3. I'm working my way through the franchise, Alien 3 has been the hardest but I love the music. Aliens Colonial Marines has been the worst, Dark Descent has been one of the best. The thing that's slowing me down on the Trilogy is that it's so depressing, the sound effects are great, the xenomorph designs aren't bad, the lack of lighting is so rough.
@MistahChimp Congrats on your first weekend post, I hope the study prep went well.
Runescape, good game. Dashings of Vietnam, love that game.
For me it’s all about Onimusha Way of the Sword and I’ll be pre-ordering Control Resonant this week, unless Dawnwalker pulls me in a different purchasing direction. Ninja Gaiden 4 is also on sale at the moment! Decisions!
Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave. Three hours in, I think we’ve possibly got Capcom’s first competition for the GotY trophy this year. It just feels so right from the start of it… I’m so glad it feels very Three Houses already.
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D - Arrived in Dodongo's Cavern to deal with an infestation.
Dragon Warrior (NES) - I'm tracking down Erdrick's Token now and grinding to Level 18.
Angry Birds Stella (Windows Phone) - Nearing the end of this one slowly.
I got Fire Emblem Fortune’s Weave on Switch 2, so that’s gonna be the main game for sure. But I’ll have time for something else too. Probably get on WWE 2K26, Street Fighter 6, or Fatal Fury COTW.
When the baby is sleeping, Mortal Shell II baby!
I'm on my second playthrough of Star Wars: Zero Company going for the platinum.
It's a decent time and quite relaxing but doesn't feel very Star Warsey.
@GirlVersusGame Anbernic makes portable emulators. The SP is just what it says on the tin, an SP clone. I just love 4:3 gaming in that form factor.
And yeah my youngest is in to really cool stuff. He loves Turok, Mario Maker, Rayman, TABS, and Goat Simulator. He is trying to git gud with Kero Blaster rn too. I hear people say that all kids play is Minecraft and Fortnite but do not find that bears out at all.
i’ll be playing ball x pit and syberia the world before on the 5pro. i’ll also be getting annoyed by the menu’s in starfield on xSx.
Had a few weeks of no gaming due to a Menorca holiday and a wedding but looking forward to getting back in the gaming groove. So, hoping to finish and plat Wolverine which ive enjoyed but the more I play the more flaws you come across. One level really outstay its welcome, its too hand holdy and the enemies get repetitive but overall an enjoyable 7/10.
Ill also probably try Runescape Dragonwilds now its hit Plus and im doing a run through of GTA 5 again in first person mode, on a trophy blitz. Its still one of the best games ever made.
Ive got Zero Company , Dawnwalker and Onimusha giving me jealous looks from the backlog pile. A great time to be a gamer eh ?
Have a great weekend guys and gals ❤️
@Eadgar Minervas Den is superb. One of the best slices of DLC ever
@shonenjump86 I cannot wait to play Fire Emblem but bought so many games recently and a huge backlog. It looks amazing
I will continued playing one of the best video games ever made in the excellent metal gear 5 the phantom pain definite edition.and I will be continued playing the amazing instant classic judgment. I will watch my pittsburgh steelers 💛🖤 play.i will watch legendary sitcoms TV 📺 comedy shows in family matters.good times.the Jeffersons.sanford and son.different strokes.martin.the wayans brothers.married with children.and saved by the bell.word up son
Beat the fantastic It Takes Two. Fares deserves all the success and Gotys he got. Absolutely incredible with imaginative scenarios and a very moving, earnest story. At most I can criticize some of the humor for being a tad cringe but it made me cry by the end. 9.5/10.
Star Wars Zero Company: I think I am on the final set of missions as it seems a certain Clone Commander needs help. Enjoying the game a lot though I think it lacks the depth and I can already feel myself getting anxious to finish it. So far it's between a 7.5-8.5 for me.
I also have Wolverine Pre-installed. Will likely start it today or tomorrow, Also going to buy Resonant: A Control Story today.
In gaming Adjacent news- I saw RESIDENT EVIL (2026) and it was a solid 4/5. A great movie with a weird ending but a very interesting conceit from the PoV of those who leave the tapes and journal entries in the game.
Completed Judgment.
And now 10 chapters into Plague Tale Innocence which i picked up in the recent PS Store sale. They have done a fantastic job building a world that is equal parts beautiful and terrifying, as well as creating children leads who aren't bloody annoying.
Once that is finished onto Jedi Fallen Order.
The 35 game completion target in 12 months is still on....well... target
More Black Flag Resynced
Since Tuesday I'm addicted to Ball X Pit. It's the same videogame crack as Vampire Hunters. Just one more round and before you know it's three hours later.
Last weekend I started Hell is us. Great atmosphere, Haunting soundtrack and no hand holding. I'll continue this when I'm done with Ball X Pit.
Hell let loose Vietnam. I love the flamethower in this game!
Have a great weekend!
I beat Cronos: The New Dawn and I thought it was excellent. I took my time, too, clocking in approximately 30-hours to complete on Xbox Series X. I managed to unlock most achievements during my first run—finding all cats, comic books, and travel logs. I am now a third of the way through on my NG+ Hard mode attempt to mop up the remaining achievements for a 100% completion.
I’m now starting Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave. I’ve wrapped up the prologue and decided to start as Dietrich. I’m in Part 1; chapter 4, and his story has been great.
There are two issues I have with the game. First is the character models—some of them are hideous and really oddly designed, such as Fabio’s eyes and Baozi’s smile. The second is the lip syncing with the dialogue. It doesn’t match what the characters are saying.
Aside from that, in my opinion, Fortune’s Weave is already a better game than Engage—a game that left me immensely disappointed. Fortunately, no pun intended, this new entry could be on the same level as Awakening and Three Houses.
I am going to be spending the weekend playing resident evil 4 in VR. I couldn't pass it up for £8.79 and my first hour or so has been quite the disturbing experience but in a good way. There are the inevitable dirt 2.0 challenges too and seeing as the psvr2 is out maybe I'll squeeze some GT7 in as well. Have a great weekend folks 👍
I've actually managed to finish both games I was playing from last week 🙂
Blood of the Dawnwalker - finished and platinumed! This game really nails the things that in my opinion are the most essential parts of an RPG - story, worldbuilding and lore. I've really, really enjoyed playing this game even though its technically not perfect and despite personally not loving the time restraint. I also really recommend players to make a manual save at around day 22 or so so you can explore the different endings, they are worth it imo. Also really hope we get more Dawnwalker in the future 🙂
Star Wars Zero Company - also finished the campaign, but definitely not platinumed (that trophy is no joke)! Surprisingly long campaign, took me around 24 hours to finish but I've really enjoyed it even if it got a little repetetive in the end with enemy types and missions not being very varied. As I've said before, pretty perfect setting for a game like this though 🙂
Have a great weekend you all!
Something on Evercade, probably Batty Zabella after completing The Curse of Illmoore Bay, or continue with Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen.
Depending on my available time, maybe Hot Wheels Unleashed 2, Sea of Thieves, Transformers: Devastation or Hi-Fi RUSH.
Happy weekend everyone!
The stars are calling me. My physical copy of No Man's Sky just arrived.
Have a great weekend!
Greetings fellow video game enthusiasts. This weekend I'll be playing Metroid Prime 4 and Final Fantasy XIV. I've also been hankering to bust out the PS Vita, so I might do that. Happy gaming time everyone.
@TrollOfWar love my Evercade.
Diablo 4, dragons dogma 2 and Avowed.
Wolverine for me.
I'm enjoying it so far, looks great runs well but can see why it's not for all. Invisible walls in 2026?
I'm playing a game called Silent Hill 2 remake. So far it's a bit like The Sims, you wander around town, go in the shops and interact with all the quirky characters you meet. I'm not sure where to go next, but a guy called Pyramid Head has invited me to his apartment later. Should be a laugh!
Just about to finish clair Obscure (amazing game) and then Spiderman 2 next on the pile
@KingPev I’m not too far into FE but definitely enjoying what I’m playing so far.
Wolverine- loving the story and combat
@LikelySatan Same. I find the Evercade platform exciting and had some of the best fun in recent years on it.
Trails second chapter! Been waiting a long while for this and I'm very keen to get started this weekend...
Any rest time from the Trails and I might play a bit more RDR2 - I have it set up on Steam Machine @ 60hz and swore I'd replay it once it was 60hz.
Whatever you and yours are playing, I hope you have fun.
I'm going to see if I can make a proper dent in Stellar Blade this weekend as I look forward to the Control Resonant release on Tuesday. I'm finding the combat pretty fun if a little repetitive and the game looks and runs beautifully on Pro... but there's something a little soulless about it story-wise in particular. Still a very good game overall and engaging in short-medium sessions, that I will aim to finish.
The Blood of Dawnwalker 🩸🧛♂️
@old_gamer74 Good to hear you're on target, Control Resonant will take me to 21/30 played and 15/30 completed (if I complete it). So I'm a little behind but really enjoying this year of gaming and not letting an arbitrary goal stress me out too much!
@Marquez yeah I do need to keep my head in the game, as they say, and not focus on arbitrary targets. Have had great fun though playing and completing games that have been in the backlog for a while. Other than 007 I haven't played many new games
I won't have too much time to play this weekend but still going through Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, what a brilliant game, even better than the first. Thinking about getting Control Resonant as I'm a big fan of the first game but I'll have to see what my bank balance is like.
I'm playing that Pirate Majima Yakuza game that I keep forgetting the title of.
Gotta play a Yakuza game every now and again!
Pokémon Pokopia: It's pretty cool figuring out how I cook, build railroads, or introduce industrial furniture and trying to carve out a settlement into the mountainous Rocky Ridges, with a well-integrated volcanic/mine interior chock full of Fire and Rock newcomers. The game gradually incorporates more advanced technology that fits geographically and allows for hours of experimentation.
Stuck in a bloody premier inn for 9 nights due to my boss being cheap. I had pre bought Graveyard Keeper 2 with a view to playing it on release and brought my Portal with me, but the crappy Premier Inn wifi can’t handle the steaming, so I’m stuck not playing anything this weekend, nor indeed next.
Oh well, maybe GK2 will have some bugs and such ironed out by then.
@GirlVersusGame hope you are feeling better soon. Sickness is such a drag! At least you have some great games to keep your mind busy. And EGTTR is certainly one of those! An absolute masterpiece imo and having grown up around places like Yaughton it really takes me back to being a lad. For a follow up may i recommend Still wakes the deep from the same developers Chinese Room. They are the best in the genre at what they do and can’t wait to see what they come up with next!.
For me personally having finished up BB 100% platinum I moved onto something a tad more serene last night with Farm Sim 25. Here’s to you weekend 🍻 🥂 👋
I'm going to the cinema with my sister to see Spiderman since I haven't seen it yet.
I'm going to be playing and finishing off Wolverine, I'm going back to Borderlands 4 and playing it again with Loveless the hacker and the rest of the dlc. I'll also be playing 007 First Light since it got path tracing for PC.
When I’m gaming with my daughter. Lego Batman legacy- mayhem mode very fun for what it is. We cranked up the difficulty much more challenging.
When I’m free onimusha and Wolverine is on deck. If not this weekend next weekend
Wolverine. Having a great time with it. If I finish it this weekend I'll wrap up the plat, then go back to Onimusha.
I’ve been playing Ghost Recon Wildlands with the new patch. Contrary to popular opinion, I think Breakpoint is better - however it’s still fun. Realistically I think I will get bored and not sure I will finish it - it’s massive!
Date Everything has been a strange experience! I doubt I will ‘finish’ that either though, whatever ‘finishing’ it looks like.
I also have the theatre and some DIY at home, plus watching Reacher and a Marvel film night, so I’m all outta time to play anything new.
@GamingGod Thank you and I don't know how non-gamers handle it to be honest, we visited a children's unit last Christmas for the same reason. I like doing toy drives but didn't consider that children have to deal with that side of things too. It was definitely very sobering, I'd assumed they went home for Christmas, they didn't and since my Christmas was one-month behind theirs/yours we did visit on Christmas day. Health is something I try not to take for granted, you were there recently yourself so you know what I mean.
An absolute masterpiece imo and having grown up around places like Yaughton it really takes me back to being a lad.
I've mentioned it before but I do use open-worlds to exposure therapy my way through agoraphobia and Everybody's Gone to The Rapture was no different. The most standout moment for me was when the entire screen went black (scripted) my anxiety spiked then I looked up and saw that vast star-map for the first time. It was instant calm, I'd never experienced anything like it before, and then the score hit too, I don't have the words for that. I tried to explain it on here that night and couldn't, I still cant.
It's a series that like walking simulators sounds boring until you actually try it, then it's all tedding grass, tilling hay, milking cows, making moves and starting grooves. Construction Simulator is another good one that rarely gets mentioned. Hours to dig holes, collect and pour cement, lay the foundations, then start to build the actual structures.
There's a new one called Evolution, so far I haven't seen any console details but it looks good. It's not just construction but demolition too and in the Developer footage they were putting down bricks one by one then spreading cement with that flat looking cake server thing. I want to do that too. The emphasis is on demolishing and clearing derelict sites to build newer more efficient buildings and things. I still need to try Ignite too and they have a Park Ranger game on PC now that doesn't look too bad. Seafarer is one of their games too, Tetris with shipping containers. That's why I never get to those huge Triple-A franchises, there's a simulator for everything and I want to try them all. Except Lawnmower Simulator, that really was not a good time, I think I fell asleep playing it.
After finishing Death Stranding 2 and The Blood of Dawnwalker I’ll most likely be sticking to Wolverine this weekend but so far I’m really enjoying it. 5 hours in and I’m not getting sick of the combat yet because it’s just really satisfying. Plus it’s a nice change of pace to play a linear story driven game after two open world ones.
Other then that I might also play Active Matter or Halloween if I fancy some multiplayer.
Pc- still need to finish onimusha but currently addicted to coop stellaris.
Ps5- Blood of dwanwalker loaded but i kinda of wanna finish mafia 3 dlc so on that.
Switch- Got orbital but for now Fortunes Weave is my current play through.
Xbox- Control resonance once it comes but likely ill be on gears but nothing on xbox till end of the month
I'm on Cycle (day) 22 of Star Wars: Zero Company. Apparently the game takes between 30 and 40 Cycles, so I'm definitely over half way now. Has to be said, the game is superb. It builds on XCOM 1 & 2 by adding in a dash of Gears Tactics. It is so well done, and I love the fact that you can build your characters differently, and even change their specialisations too.
I would love to see a second game made, but with the studio having been made smaller following the release of the game, there is a chance that this is the only game we will get, which would be a real shame...
Just a little mafia 3 and finishing off a couple achievements on resonance a plague tale that I have left over.
Happy weekend folks 🙏
Finally jumped in on Stray. I’m not a cat person, but it’s pretty good. Very endearing.
Rolled credits on Onimusha yesterday. Enjoyed it but I feel like some reviewers and content creators gave it a pass on some of the flaws because the semi open world Kyoto stuff was god awful repetitive filler that needlessly bloated the game. Had to do final boss on Story mode as parry focused stuff is tough for me but glad I got through everything else on Action because some late game bosses were damn hard. Originally planned on getting Control Resonant next but I’m going to pass after looking at multiple reviews. I’ll do Yotei dlc and Witcher 3 update next before Phantom Blade Zero which I’m hoping will challenge RE9 for my personal GOTY.
@StrickenBiged You will be a cat person by the time you finish the game, I've heard so many people say the same thing 'so I have a cat now'. They went for that real life DLC.
I am playing the wonderful Trails in the Sky: 2nd Chapter. The start is more intense and emotional than I anticipated. This one really pick up faster than the excelente 1st Ch. I know another fantastic journey awaits!!
I am still playing God of War: Sons of Sparta, being surprised with the amount of sidequests and things to do in this game. And it's challenging...
To finish this week list, Alan Wake 2. Already seen the cool musical sequence (if you know, you know). Let's dive more into darkness.
I wish a good weekend folks. I had a very hard week, so some rest is very welcome.
@MidnightDragonDX 🤛
was trying runescape but didnt like it. It felt like all you do is drink and eat
Onimusha for me this weekend. Fantastic game. Dont think I'll have it complete before Control is out.
Enjoy the weekend all
I’ll be playing through the final 6 or 7 chapters of Wolverine. Not as wildly impressed with it as I’d hoped. It’s certainly a really good game but not great. Anyone on the fence about it I’d say wait for a price drop. Otherwise enjoy your time gaming and ……no rage quitting! 😉
@DETfaninATL You have no Sports or Bass this weekend?
@Northern_munkey Genuine question but what does your Wife say when you have the headset on? I've tried it but there's the added jump-scare of Someone outside of the game trying to get your attention. I'm assuming she's off painting in another room/her studio at the time? All I can picture is you punching and shooting space like you are being hit by Bruce Lee. He was so fast on Green Hornet that the camera's couldn't catch him. So surely it looks like that. And how does she safely get your attention for tea or something? with dinner you can probably smell it cooking first.
@Mr-Cage Woh another person playing mafia 3. Haha the game just like sleeping dog is considered a flop to the gta series. I bought it on launch and do agree with the reviews of it begin mid. What are you opnions on the game now that it has aged abit? I dont know if id still recommend but i cant lie i did enjoy my time with the game and still currently am. But Sleeping dog is still the one in my heart 😭 i am praying for a remake of that game
@GirlVersusGame 🤣 we have an open plan living room and I have the rear right corner at the moment for my sim rig/gaming area and the rest is hers. It's not an issue and there's not been many moments where there's a communication problem. It's bear and boz that are the problem to be honest because they are opportunists when unobserved.
@playstation1995 ....dude, youve added even MORE sitcoms to the list ! 🤣🤣
@Kakun Yeah it's an ok game I love the mafia series of games but this is definitely the weakest.
The gameplay just gets repetitive in my opinion constantly talking over districts is boring to be honest but the story is very strong that's all I'm really playing it for.
Sleeping dogs though is a good game I had a great time playing that first time around very under rated!
I have Doom Dark Ages Onimusha and The Invincible on the go.
Probably nothing for me this weekend. Found out last night that my dad’s been murdered in Jamaica. Don’t feel much like gaming.
I’ve started playing Borderlands 4 again, after having not touched it in quite a while. I had the super deluxe version (got a good deal on Loaded) so have some new vault hunters to try out.
I want to buy myself a new game, but honestly can’t decide out of Blood of Dawnwalker, Control Resonant, Dune Awakening, or Wolverine. I’ll probably play all of them eventually lol, but which to buy first? 🤔
@playstation1995 I'm borrowing some of your list. I recently started watching television shows and have been getting quite a few recommendations. I tried most old British comedies, newer ones like Black Books and Top Buzzer (Mtv show) Friends, South Park, Bob's Burgers was this week as was Archer, I'll steal your Married with Children one that sounds good, I've got a bunch of others ready to go on my to-watch shelf/list.
I'm trying Family Guy next then American Dad followed by The Cleveland Show and somewhere in there I'll try Futurama because the Simpsons turned out to be really good. I have Sons of Anarchy down too (because I heard the soundtrack) and True Blood because I saw Alexander Skarsgård, I'm adding Ally McBeal for Peter MacNicol (Janosz from Ghostbusters 2 and 'everything you're doing is bad. I want you to know this'. I have to try Red Dwarf too because everyone says it's a must see.
@DrVenture69 I added more to the list, PSMR recommended some old cartoons too, those will be VHS. I removed Captain Planet because multiple people said he's a (insert word here) I'll try Biker Mice tonight then tomorrow Gargoyles.
@AhmadSumadi Sorry for your loss, I hope you're hanging in there. And that they catch who did it and bring them to justice. It won't mean much but I was where you are at the moment, it was an accident but it wasn't really. The not getting to say goodbye part was the toughest part, all I can say is make sure you do talk to someone and try to work through it. I didn't want to but I needed to and years later I'm glad I did. It's not something you should be carrying on your shoulders for the rest of your life and your Dad most likely wouldn't want that for you either. Games helped me to hide away from it, talking helped to heal it. Obviously it didn't happened overnight, stay strong.
"Methinks I know the way. Follow me, Master."
Dragon's Dogma 2
Im deep in Dune Awakening and having a very good time running about Arrakis in the solo version, very impressed with it all!
@KingPev @GirlVersusGame all those sitcoms retro TV comedy Is in my top 10 there's more retro comedy are the best I'm from queens new york and I was there for a lot of them.sanford and soon is legendary. Word up son
@playstation1995 I lived on the Upper East Side. It's another planet from Queens but I did meet some people from Ozone Park, it was Gotti's old neighborhood. I think he moved to Old Westbury before he was indicted. I had a signed picture of him before hanging up and someone asked was it Slobodan Milošević, it's kind of funny today but I was highly offended at the time. I think it was one of Armand Assante's best roles too, he was a very good Gotti.
I didn't get to see much else but for Brighton Beach, I'd liked to have visited Hell's Kitchen and Harlem. British comedy was easier to try first, it was more dry, quieter and easier to follow. Friends was a lot more balanced than I expected and definitely a product of it's time, it was weird seeing young Joey. I'd seen him in Lost in Space too but not much else. I watched it because Matthew Perry had passed and everyone was talking about his role in the show. I probably should look into more Retro American comedy, Aqua Teen Hunger Force was my first English cartoon and that was while in your city. It was my first night there and I watched it all night then went through the box-set the next day. I don't expect there to be talking milkshakes and fries living in Jersey, but you never know.
I'm playing Astrobot with my 4-year-old daughter, and everytime we play, we are both stunned by how well its made. I started out with Commander Keen on PC and later the first platformer on PS was Crash Bandicoot. It is so much better than anything Nintendo, and it is just a demo packaged in with the console. Its crazy.
Also, on rotation Midnight Suns and Dragon's Dogma 2.
I feel bad for not picking up Wolverine, but Midnight Suns are just more my genre and it features a (butt-ugly) version of Wolverine. I'll probably get around to playing the game soonish. I rarely actually buy games at launch because there's almost no real incentive to do so.
I missed the Friday night WAYP as I was attending a dear friend's funeral 😔
I'm slowly enjoying FF Resonance demo and I beat Star Wars Zero Company after 50 hours. Loved it!
This weekend I'm planning on finishing up The Blood of Dawnwalker. I've really been enjoying this one and am already really looking forward to a second playthrough. I've heard some of peoples favourite quests are with characters that I've killed in my game 😅
Also carrying on with Ace Combat 7 for the first time in years. Warming up for AC 8!
Have a great weekend everyone!
Finished the main story of Pragmata this week, I really hope it gets a sequel. The post-credits sequence sets it up. There’s still quite a bit of simulation to do (the Unknown Signal story) too.
I was going to replay Silent Hill F in prep for Townfall, but I fell down a Serious Sam collection hole instead.
@GirlversusGame, I’m watching Beavis & Butthead tonight, I never bothered growing up
@DrVenture69 I forgot that was a show, I've only seen the movie with Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, Robert Stack (from Unsolved Mysteries) was the agent tracking them across America. You are already off to a good start for Spooky Season in your gaming too. I didn't have Halloween growing up, people mostly used it for night clubs and things. I learned what it was from watching Halloween, Hocus Pocus and Trick r Treat.
I think Tokyo Ghostwire was my Halloween game last-year. I'll find something equally non threatening for this upcoming one. Killer Frequency is tempting, I played it a couple of times already and it never got old and the music/vibes were perfect.
@GirlVersusGame Beavis & Butthead Do America . The latest one is actually pretty good too (Beavis & Butthead Do The Universe).
The TV shows have never been fully release because of all the musical licensing rights issues, so I’m watching ancient VHS rips from archive.org. Most of the show is just them watching music videos and talking about them. So many memories from the 90’s, plus I’m building up a playlist.
I have a theory that E.T started Halloween in the UK, I don’t remember trick or treating at all until E.T came out (there’s a big Halloween scene in the film if you haven’t seen it)
Last year I played about 30 hours of Trails in the Sky remake but stopped because I went on vacation. Ive started a new game and then I’ll be playing Second Chapter.
@GirlVersusGame If you haven't already consider watching Cheers (start with Season 6 when Rebecca shows up), Fawlty Towers, Hogan's Heroes, Keeping up Appearances, The Steve Harvey show. Been watching these with the wife and really enjoying them. 😃
@3Above I started rewatching Cheers a couple of weeks ago and even Season 1 still stands up (still funny), but yeah I liked the Rebecca era best. The only downside is the DVD box set doesn’t always have the right music. No Monster Mash
@GirlVersusGame Well, I’m always playing my bass, but my Lions got their @$$ kicked on Thursday night football this week so, no - no football for me this weekend. What about you? What are you getting into besides games this weekend?
@DrVenture69 I got curious when you said you couldn't and did the Tor thing and found only these. It says 1993 to 1997, and now I'll have to watch some. These seem to be from DVDs, probably Region One/America.
Those might be the same ones you found, I also grabbed four series of the Turtles cartoons and Married With Children. Most I'll replace with DVDs/VHS in time.

@3Above I've heard of Cheers because of so many of the actors that appeared on the show, Fawlty Towers is probably one of if not the first British show I watched. I watched his alimony tour too, his ex-wife took everything he had leaving him with no car and no home. One of his ways to prevent homelessness was to go on tour and the whole tour was him talking about how awful she was, what she could buy with all of his money and he even had pictures of her at cash machines blown up for the stage. He worked his whole life for what he had and she took it overnight, he wasn't happy.
He also talked about how awful growing up in Weston-super-Mare was and how it became his inspiration for Fawlty Towers. He said he didn't need act for his role as Basil Fawlty he just tapped into his childhood and what you see is what you get. I watched Black Adder and Mr Bean after that then The Young Ones followed by Men Behaving Badly (which was so good) I have to watch Bottom too it has Rik Mayall and Adrian Edmondson. I've seen Guesthouse Paradiso, that was their movie version of the show, England does comedy really well.
I got sick last weekend so my plan to continue with Metro Exodus did not work out, instead was trying some demos on ps5 and steam deck. Especially loved Dragon Quest VII Reimagined demo so I just bought full game (good timing too as game is on sale rn on steam), this game plays great on steam deck and I´ll be playing mainly that.
And I picked up Ys Origin on current sales on nintendo switch, heard good things about this one - it´s old but still fun.
On ps5 probably continue my demo journey until Witcher 3 remastered comes out! currently not in the mood to continue Metro Exodus, will probably come back when winter starts for proper immersion
Wish you all great weekend with great games!
@GirlVersusGame Maybe. I've always been more of a dog person. The way I see it, when I feed my dog, he thinks I'm God, but when you feed a cat, it thinks it's God.
And I need that validation I guess. XD
@StrickenBiged And only one of them would eat you if you dropped on the spot. I've only ever heard of cats eating their Owners, so you probably made the right choice. A dog isn't going to serve you up with some fava beans and a nice Chianti but a cat absolutely would.
@GirlVersusGame That’s quite a few of them, there’s about 8 seasons, I got 2 - 8 (the first season seems to have disappeared). There’s like 50 episodes in Season 5, but they’re all 10 minutes, so sometimes they do a “double episode” thing. It’s very dorky, but I still love it. Just seeing the old music videos too. I’ve rediscovered a lot of music watching it.
And I think @StrickenBiged is talking about cats expecting to be fed, and dogs loving you for feeding them. . Some cats are snooty (“You’re service has been noted, Human. You may continue to exist” ), some cats are loving. I love them all. But yeah, given a chance if you died, they’d eat you if they were trapped in the same room . (Sorry just re-read your response, you obviously got it )
@DrVenture69 I checked somewhere else and I see eight series and specials. Many comments saying thank you because like you said it's rare. Season one is there too but only lists three episodes. I did get the meaning and do relate more to animals than people so Stray was one of my favorite games, Paw Patrol too. Ravix thought I was a furry and I'm not, that was an interesting conversation because I knew nothing about furry people to begin with, we both learned something that day. I would like to meet a furry person some day but how do you even start such a conversation? I'd have too many questions for them and they would run away too fast.
It does sound a bit weird when you tell someone it's fun to play fetch/etc though, so I can't blame him for that. I told him to try it for himself, I don't think he ever did. I personally think humanity is overrated, when those lights aren't on there's no one home and it's the most blissful and relaxing feeling in the world. My friend's nickname for my Partner is Blofeld, it's pretty obvious why, I'd never be with him if he wanted me just for people things, it wouldn't work at all and neither of us would be happy.
So many people who do the human thing all day everyday seem so stressed. Have you ever seen a stressed cat/puppy? it doesn't happen, they are permanently in that zone, so by the same token I don't get stressed. People taste a little of that something when they get lost in a video-game, I just let it all go and drift away then pop back fresh and happy. It's been that way since I was about six. I suppose I watched a lot of the Aristocats or something, or Lady and Tramp, no one fully knows. I just know life is too short to not do what makes you happy and if I had to do the people thing all day everyday? oh heck no, that's awful I don't know how you stick it. It probably sounds weird from your perspective? but humanity is far too serious and in my experience life doesn't have to be.
@GirlVersusGame I’ve always said “Real life. Great graphics, rubbish gameplay” . The only time I’ve seen a stressed cat is when my old one would suddenly look up randomly, then bolt upstairs for no earthly apparent reason, it happened a few times (I loved Stray too, I really need to replay that). Any your partners nickname of Blofeld is awesome too . I’ve got that haircut too
@DETfaninATL It might be an odd question but when you play do you play for Jesus too? I ask because Matthew West from the 'my story your glory' said he did.
What about you? What are you getting into besides games this weekend?
I listened to a couple more of those Sermons you shared too but by those definitions I'm most definitely a sinner. I don't think Jesus minds all that much, it's making Someone else happy and it's done with consent and respect of a different kind. I'm sure murder is a lot worse in his book, providing of course his book is the Bible. And I still think it's better than saying 'hey kat we're at war now for God', because that made even less sense. I think I'll just pray for worse sinners I know a lot of them and they need it more than I do. I have Jesus in my heart, I'm not sure where else I'd need him, or where I'd fit him other than music. I have Saint Francis now too so I'm covered on both sides, he's all about pets and Jesus is all about people. I also saw notice of universal compassion, which translates to me as gender not mattering either, that love is just love so that's one more recurring sin expunged from the record.
Nothing, my 5Pro Console/Controller is defective. It had to be returned.
Just gonna watch movies on my Panny820 and 90" TV
@GirlVersusGame
Fell better

@Spider-Kev Thank you, I'd rather feel sleep honestly. I know it's late when I see other time-zones coming online, which is how I saw your comment about C.H.U.D. I thought you were British. What movies are you planning to watch?
@GirlVersusGame
I'm east coast USA. I rarely sleep. I'll pop online when I get up.
I used to go by the online name Tsukasa in the early 2000s. Not sure if anyone will get the reference...
So far, watched 4ks of No Hard Feelings, original Masters of the Universe. about to watch 4k of poor things.
Watched Blu-ray of Lifeguard, Jumpin Jack Flash and Freejack
@GirlVersusGame it was quite an old place (1930’s mid terrace) so I did think about hauntings. I’m pretty sensitive in general but I never felt a bad vibe in it. It wasn’t the place I wanted to live, but who I was with made it paradise, at least for a few years (a long time ago). I did once say to a friend that I have a nodding acquaintance to reality. I’m in it, not of it. So yeah, I get your point. And as Dr Venture once said “God shaves my head, I just do the sides” . I need a nap
@GirlVersusGame
Audio isn't working on Poor things, swapped to 4k of Minions & Monsters
@Spider-Kev I rarely sleep

Freejack I hadn't heard of until tonight, and it stars Mick Jagger too, I'll have to try that one eventually. Same Director as Young Guns 2 and Fortress 2, I liked the first Fortress a lot but like most franchise when they go to space it's not always great. Jason X, whichever Hellraiser was in space. Jason X might be one of the worst movies I've ever seen, Killjoy the Clown is a close second, that was a really bad.

@GirlVersusGame
Nope, username is even older than this place.
I used it on powerRangerEmpire DC++ and tokypop forums
@GirlVersusGame
Jason X was great! So goofy in a good way.
Try The Final Girls, damn good movie, homage to the TV cuts of Friday and Halloween series'
Fortress is great! 2, is okay.
@AhmadSumadi im so sorry about your loss and what you and your family are going through
@PaperAlien How does the game break down in terms of survival, combat and exploration? Are they fairly evenly split, or is there more emphasis on say, survival?
@Nightcrawler71 The survival and crafting I think is little bit more important, well in the beginning hours at least, you have to make you stay out of the sun, stay in the shade, eat, and drinking especially ties into your combat with stamina and the more thirsty you get the less you damge you do etc Im sure as the game and story progresses and you unlock more things, combat and skill will become more important. Its all pretty good!
@PaperAlien Cool, thanks! Will give it a go when it comes to Gamepass on Tuesday.
Wolverine, baby!
I'm also giving Aniimo a try. So far it feels great, but I have my doubts
Board games, trail 2nd chapter remake and probably some fighting games (gbfvr hopefully since the game has just been updated ^^)
@naruball I'm after getting the Xenia game you mentioned, it's for PS2. It's the same Studio who did that awful Little Britain game, Jumanji, Paddington Bear, Postman Pat, Dr Dolittle and a bunch of other tie-ins. I'm not expecting much but I'm open to at least trying. I have to add Captain Scarlet too, I just found out about the show, watched the opening and saw it too has a game from yet again that same Studio. I hope you're enjoying Wolverine, the people who are actually playing it have been saying good things. It's just hard to balance multiple games so I'm waiting until things level out again.
Pokemon, fire emblem and sonic romhacks
@GirlVersusGame just a head-up. I'm as die hard of a fan as it gets and I still couldn't get past the first level. It's mind-numbingly bad. The ps1 game is decent in comparison.
Hope you feel better soon!
@naruball Today is a better day thank you, it was a whole week of being mind-numbingly bored, even with gaming. I'll eventually try the show too. I showed a friend your picture after a really nice comment you made recently, they said 'that's Lucy Lawless' my reaction was 'who' and then I got schooled on why I need watch watch it. I thought it was you, which is kind of funny in hindsight but I asked DET what his weird head picture was and 'it's actually my face', his explanation was he'd warped it in an App to make people smile, it worked. It looks sort of like the sun in Teletubbies if they were a grown man who played Bass.
@Dan12836666 @GirlVersusGame thank you both. Can’t believe this has happened. And @GirlVersusGame you’re right. Gaming has helped me cope tremendously. Still, I feel some shame when I’m having fun and laughing after what’s happened to my dad.
@AhmadSumadi It's understandable. For the longest time I saw enjoying anything as 'I didn't build this he did, and where is he now'. I wasn't doing myself any favors, you need to give yourself time to grieve, to heal and in-between all of that you need to give yourself permission to enjoy yourself too. This was very recent so you still might be in shock and parts of it might not have hit yet. When it does make sure you have someone to talk to.
It's self preservation, music helped me and still does. Going through all of his old vinyls, it was the kind of positive reminder I needed. That was years ago and now I do appreciate life, the good and the bad, I could have let it eat me alive, he wouldn't have wanted that for me. No Parent wants that for their child. I see it now as laughing along with him or listening along with him, then I'm sharing that something. The revenge side is non existent for me too, I know who did and why, for me the choice to do nothing was still a choice and I'm not throwing my life away on Someone who isn't worth it in the first place. Instead I'll enjoy my games, music, and the People who do matter. They get to live with knowing what they did, and I get to live with knowing I was the bigger person.
@GirlVersusGame I just got a box set of The Young Ones on VHS from a flea market this weekend on a whim. Then I seen you posting about it...Spooky
@Link41x That's the good kind of spooky. I mentioned listening to the show in the television thread recently and had to add more context because I meant the audiobook, but technically it wasn't. BBC had a tradition where they'd take the master recordings of the audio from certain shows and put them on hard copies then sell them just like Penguin or RandomHouse or any audiobook company were doing.
The Young Ones recording still included the sound-effects and the bands like Madness and Dexys Midnight Runners. Mine were ripped and converted by friends so they play through the PS5, meaning I was working my way through Crimson Desert while listening to the show. I've listened to hundreds of hours of BBC recordings like that and radio dramas, from Ghost Stories with Christopher Lee to their more recent and brilliant sci-fi radio collection. My favorite (non BBC) is the old 1940's radio dramas of The Shadow, it's a great way to learn a language too.
That was my plan with The Young Ones too, I just didn't count on it being as funny so I grabbed the DVDs instead and got through every episode in one day. The whole thing seems like one big brilliant fever dream, I still haven't found anything like it. Men Behaving Badly was really funny but grounded in reality, the old rickety gate in the wind, Tony waiting in the shed thinking he's getting lucky, it's all funny but realistic too. I've never even been in a pub but everything I saw in that show is definitely how I picture one and the 'we are sailing' episode with a line of drunk men sitting on the floor mimicking a boat singing? that better be a real thing somewhere in some British pub.
I was going to play Control tonight, but I’ve ended up scrolling through this comment section for longer than I’d like to admit, trying to work out what is going on. I don’t understand anything anymore.
@Eadgar Bioshock 2 with Minerva's Den is the most underrated game in the history of gaming. Never understood it was received, and reviewed, so poorly.
And I am playing Ghost Recon Wildlads, Balatro, and Trails in the Sky FC. And it looks Trails is going to take over.
@Othatguy I've achieved my goal and I agree with your sentiment. Bioshock 2 is indeed a fabulous game that retains what made Bioshock so memorable. Combat, in general, is a lot more polished.
What an amazing IP Bioshock is. Truly a gaming spectacle.
A minor note as well, I cannot wait to do this again and collect the trophies a second time, but this time on PS4 with the Bioshock Collection.
@Eadgar I did not love Infinite, but Bioshock is one of the truly great games ever made, and Bioshock 2 is just a riot. Minerva's Den is on the short list for best DLC I have ever played.
