Ghost Recon: Wildlands PS5 1

Ubisoft appears to be preparing an updated and enhanced version of PS4 open worlder Ghost Recon: Wildlands, as per a new graphic uploaded to its Xbox Store page.

On the listing for the Definitive Edition, an image highlights a "major update" that's yet to be released or confirmed by the French studio, which talks of 4K and 60 frames-per-second support. It also highlights a new mission being part of the update, and since it's called Last Rites, I assume that's what the extra quest will be called, too.

Here's the graphic in question:

Ghost Recon: Wildlands PS5 2

While it didn't really set the world alight critically at launch, Ubisoft offered strong post-launch support to Ghost Recon: Wildlands, which helped to improve overall opinion surrounding the PS4 game in the years after. This updated Definitive Edition already contains all that extra content: two pieces of DLC, a Year 2 Pass, and various customisation packs.

That Year Pass 2 contains the following:

Splinter Cell Pack
Weapon, weapon skin, 2 NVG goggles, pair of gloves, 3 camos
Soldier Equipment Pack
U100 weapon, JPC vest, military shirt
Infantry Forces Pack
ACU shirt, Mayflower APC, covered advanced combat helmet
Active Duty Pack
UMP 45, PenCott LN, Blast Face Shield

The title is currently only playable at 30FPS and won't render at 4K, even when played on PS5 in backwards compatibility mode. Therefore, such an update to Ghost Recon: Wildlands would be pretty substantial.
