Re: Destiny 2 Finally Brings Back Trials of Osiris Next Month

Its_badW0lf

As someone that played thousands of hours between this game and the first one, I can safely say this will not fix the current state of the game.

A title that aims to be free to play but really is fleecing it's players with the new barebone season model - with the season pass gimmick included - contributing absolutely nothing but the same washed down recycled "horde-lite" activity, returning weapons and armour and maps while actual endgame is left to one raid with the same ol mechanics every year at this point while all the new and exciting looking gear is only available in the cash shop - this franchise is a slap across the face of the players that stuck by it and made it what it is today.

Endagame like Destiny? Coming from a die hard Destiny player that made the jump to PC when the game went to steam I can tell you that not even Bungie has figured out how to make a live service game, they have however figured out how to alleviate the playerbase of their cash to get the coolest stuff in game while recycling everything else but the cash store.

Destiny Y2 was an example of how live service games should work, maybe not the 3rd season so much, but current Destiny is a shallow experience that looks only to engage your wallet.

FF XIV on the other hand is a much better example.

Re: PS Now's February Update Adds The Evil Within, LEGO Worlds, and Cities: Skylines

Its_badW0lf

@get2sammyb yeah, I can only compare it to XGP and every time there's an update on new games added there's some strong games in there, most of them brand new.

I'm considering PS Now because my PS plus is running out and I have no real motive to carry on since I switched to PC, so Now feels like the way to go - but I've played most of the exclusives and the rest of the offer just doesn't seem that great in comparison, which makes me wonder if I'll have any time to jump from one to the other or consider it once I ran out of gamepass games I wanted to play.

Re: Game of the Decade: Destiny Paved the Way for Games as a Service

Its_badW0lf

@kyleforrester87 I remember...first Vault of Glass completion still pops up on the load screen of D2 with your names on it... Good times!

@DonJorginho I have to agree with you there, I'm still playing D2 every week, but their current monetisation of the game is absolutely ridiculous, and lets not forget the fact that the game as it is now as lost all PvE and PvP endgame focus in detriment to a horde mode objective based thingamabob that comes and goes every 3 months but it's effectively the same thing. Current season is a snooze fest and I'm dreading the Dawning launch today with yet another expensive suite of skins and bullshit for way too much money. It has become a FOMOfest basically.

But the game itself and its model, it does deserve a place in these lists.

Re: You Can Now Make Music in No Man's Sky with Latest Update on PS4

@LowTech not sure about the building someone else's base but I have gone to other players bases to get some resources from their farms, that was hilarious. Not stealing mind you, people are nice and just advertise the location of some insane farms. But I haven't played in a year, so not sure if any of that changed.

Re: You Can Now Make Music in No Man's Sky with Latest Update on PS4

Its_badW0lf

@LowTech nah, last I played I just randomly found people about the planet, and you can join or have others join you. If you go closer to the center of the universe you'll find the settlements, there are a few official "colonies" where players have gathered.

It's pretty much what they said, minus the huge sandworms.

Re: Deal: Get a Year of PS Plus for £30 This Black Friday in the UK

Its_badW0lf

@Hengist I mean I have a sub until 2021 and I haven't touched my PS4 or any of the free games since the GamePass on PC came out - last time I logged in was to turn off the auto renewal for the subscription to Plus.
Paying a few quid a month for an expanding gallery of hundreds of games including newly released MS owned and first party studios...I don't see where there even is competition, other than Sony exclusives, but that isn't enough to bring me back, and I really wanted to try Death Stranding, but at this point if someone gives it to me for Xmas it'll sit there cuz I just can't be arsed turning the console on, when I got the PC right there...

Re: Guide: Will PS Plus Be Required on PS5?

Its_badW0lf

PS Plus is one of Sony's best services?!

Are we paying for the same PS Plus service? The only service worse than PS Plus I can think of is the Nintendo one. Sony needs to step up its game when it comes to staying relevant on the Subscription Service side of things, paying more money for less on games and often their quality isn't an acceptable deal, far from their best service...

Re: Sony Thinks PlayStation Is Too Big to Ignore

Its_badW0lf

They're gonna go through another 260 vs PS3 on the next generation in my opinion. Their services are worst than MS in terms of Plus vs Game Pass, the fact that the neXt Box is gonna incorporate game streaming and a box all in one and Playstation is just dissing it is just not very good at all.

Sure they will have exclusives and such but that will be mostly single player. The way I see it I will be getting and Xbox for 90% of my gaming needs including multiplayer and a Playstation for a few exclusives and maybe VR down the line if it improves radically.

Re: PS Plus July 2019 PS4 Games Announced

Its_badW0lf

Looks like Sony had very little to do with the previous month's 2K freebie as suspected...

If I didn't need the bloody thing for online multiplayer I'd be so done with PS plus by now, prices go up, quality goes down. Good going Sony!

Re: CD Projekt RED Fully Focused on Current-Gen for Cyberpunk 2077, PS5 Version Is a 'Maybe'

Its_badW0lf

Respect to them - work on the game you have before you try to make more money off of it on other platforms.

If only all developers had this game focused approach instead of keeping their eyes on the dollars, the gaming industry would be in a much better place.

More passion project full games with a clear vision that offer what it promises on day one and then some, less incomplete, broken, identity devoid, steaming piles of microtransactions.

Re: Talking Point: Should Sony Introduce a Game Pass Subscription of Its Own?

Its_badW0lf

Everybody is saying how Microsoft didn't capitalize on Sony not being at E3, but what I saw was MS set itself up like Sony did at the end of the 360/PS3 cycle.

And not just in terms of IP or studio power. Microsoft as stepped up and shown itself as a pro consumer company with this E3. The Game Pass offer is incredible, pretty much unbeatable in any current subscription services. On the other hand, Playstation Plus is demanding more and more of you and delivering less as time goes on. Hopefully they will be pressed by the great value offer from MS and do somehting about it, or I'll just go ahead and get a PC for Stadia and Game Pass.

Re: The Division 2 Sales Didn't Meet Ubisoft's 'Ambitious Expectations'

Its_badW0lf

@Eldritch And in that line of thought the reason why R*'s Red Dead Online 2 is failing is because the people that were playing GTA:O are still engaged with that game and have invested heavily in it to get back.

There's one option in this type of game, you either release a superior game to whats already existing with added bonuses to get people off other games and into yours, offer more content and better features, or you're going to release a barebones experiment that won't keep people for long.

And for crying out loud stop cannibalizing your own products, you can't sell two live service games to the same people and wonder why it's failing.

Re: The Division 2 Sales Didn't Meet Ubisoft's 'Ambitious Expectations'

Its_badW0lf

Problem is, with a games as a service model you realistically have enough time to put into one game of that kind, then you build a little community around that game and it's hard to move on. Let's just say it was fortunate that Destiny 2 made it's recovery with Forsaken when it did, or this would've been quite different I believe.

I would've given it a shot but I'm too busy with Destiny, so it's pointless to invest into another game when I know I have so much to achieve there right now.
