Judging by the hints from Intergrade and the mobile Ever Crisis it'll most likely be something related to FFVIIR and it's branches to have it all wrapped up in one nice complete remade basket. Or it's a dormant series like Tactics making a return.
Bought the base game for $12 bucks at target last summer, kinda happy my backlog has kept me from playing it 'til this upgrade happens. Hopefully the base game looks half as pretty as the DLC because it's gorgeous. =]
Absolutely love the Division series, will not support it as a free to play game. All this will mean is extra grind and an overwhelming amount of microtransactions.
The irony of the situation is the fact that Epic is in court for the exact thing Sony is protecting itself from in their clause. Sony literally made Epic sign a contract that would prevent them from favoring microtransactions more on other platforms or side stepping them completely like they did with Apple and Google.
It's sad that people are angry at one company for being greedy when it's simply just a protection from publishers who are known for pulling actual greedy schemes like this.
Every single update this game gets is convoluted and monetized, and I understand it's a free to play game, but its starting to get old for players like me who genuinely enjoy the game and who feel it's gotten far greedier since they broke off from Activision.
Sony doesn't have a library great enough to make this service worth it to a mass audience. Especially when their audience just wants something as worthwhile as Gamepass. Not to say Sony doesn't have great movies, but they're few and far bewteen.
@Grimwood Wrong on so many levels, the consumer can make an informed assessment of the steakhouse by reading reviews and listening to customer feedback.
This mindset that developers deserve any form of support just by existing is a load of garbage. Prove your worth and maybe we'll let you succeed. This last decade has been hell for releases, nearly every triple A title has released half baked, buggy, or straight up unplayable. Days Gone was a buggy mess at launch and they paid for their incompetence. Higher game prices this generation will only make consumers think harder about their game choices going forward.
@Taylorzombie Try to stop me.
You fail to realize that while this is great for fans it's an incredible waste of resources.
I love these games and agree with you that it is exciting, but I'd rather they not waste their time and resources on games that are perfectly fine and playable on current gen hardware.
The only feature I want is the ability to switch the PS button back to the PS4 press and hold. It's been 5 months and I still accidentally hold it to bring up the quick menu.
Genuinely impressed by this. The only thing I can say it needs is a little change to the lighting so to not feel so globally illuminated and to make the colors a little more vibrantly pop.
Would also love to see this game tie into the toys themselves, nothing Skylanders level, just like a code to unlock cars that match the same car you just bought or something. No doubt that'll be a microtransaction sink instead.
@UltimateOtaku91 That's the difference between a trillion dollar company and a 45 billion dollar company. Sony relies heavily on their profits to function, while Microsoft, or in this case Xbox, hasn't made a profit in years and burns through billions a year because they have eff it money.
I don't usually play sides, but this generation Xbox is playing dirty and buying everything to throw their dingdong around just to assert dominance. It's lame. I say that as someone who's enjoyed all their consoles and have been subbed to Gamepass for years on both Xbox and PC.
It's hilarious when developers expect players to buy anything extra from them when they've already burned them with the initial purchase. They've done next to nothing to make up for the mess they sold and they want a reward, not happening.
The site is mindbogglingly counterintuitive, they've had to have seen a dip in sales since its launch. Not having screenshots or trailers completely kills interest in a game that forces people to go to other platforms to learn about them. Not having DLC or advertising related games also diminishes discoverability and harms sales. These are the bare minimum basics of visual merchandising and for a multi billion dollar company it's baffling that they've missed that.
It's constantly on sale for under $20 bucks and that's well worth the campaign, and if you have a friend or two the game is a blast. Does get old quick though, but it's fun for a good week or two.
@BloodNinja Don't listen to them they're a stupid liar, Playstation store states and I quote, "INTERGRADE is a bundle that includes both REMAKE and the new episode featuring Yuffie"
@rpg2000 Stiff animations, lifeless player faces, flat simple textures, and mindless drones in the crowd cheering for no reason. Looks dated, sorry. =/
Looking through my platinum trophies the other day I noticed that Ghost of Tsushima had a 13% and was pretty shocked, triple A titles usually hover around 4% or less, at least for the humble 12 I have.
Awesome, they gave us everything we've always wanted and more than gave us the middle finger and locked it to mobile. Can't wait for the console/PC ports with cheap controller support and lazy upscaling like they've done in the past with FFXVPE, Chrono Trigger, and all the Final Fantasy rereleases.
Just a reminder to all the people here saying it's still selling well and whatnot, the game has regularly gone on sale for $20 since about September last year. Heck, I picked it up for $11.99 at target in October. It's a bargain bin title that would benefit more from Sony purchasing the rights to give it away than they make in stores.
I still think it's unlikely, but just pointing out a flawed stance on the why nots.
Honestly, just judging by my circles alone the people who have the most drift are the bunch who play competitive games or just don't understand they can tilt the stick without slamming it. It's the same story with people who don't dust their consoles out and then blame Sony for it over heating, a little self awareness goes a long way.
I know it's just the artstyle, but I hope that design of Sonic is what we'll have going forward. Simple, streamlined, and slightly smaller, less lengthy than usual.
it blows me away that this game almost came out a couple months ago and we still have no clue what the point of the game is. I mean, sure, it's destruction derby, but show us something other than the obvious daily skin shop platform this game is going to try and become.
The menu closing thing and setting resetting are the only things I've experienced listed here in 57 hours.
Edit// Didn't see the crashing bit, that too.
If I were them I'd divert all devs into the bug fixing / next gen upgrade effort to get it out sooner than they previously planned. Luckily I'm playing on PS5 and so far my experience has been very smooth with the exceptions of a crash every couple hours or so, nothing to soil the game for me though.
@Odium What I instantly noticed was the textures were less blurry and bump mapping seemed to be enabled giving textures a little more texture. It'll be nice when the actual PS5 version comes out in a few months.
Eh, I'm having a good time on PS5, especially after todays patch the game looks a little prettier too. The crashes are a little annoying, not enough for me to hate it.
Not surprising, Ubisoft like Bethesda are horrible at optimizing games. They're incredibly creative teams and make some of my favorite stuff, but when it comes to actually creating the games they're some of the laziest, or maybe just incompetent developers on the planet. Probably the latter because they hire the cheapest fresh out of college developers possible instead of investing in talent.

Sony loosely modeled the new party system after Discord in the most feature basic sense so it only makes sense to go the whole way at this point.
