Re: Crossplay Controversy Shifts to Sony Being Only Company to Enforce Clause

Dubbicakes

The irony of the situation is the fact that Epic is in court for the exact thing Sony is protecting itself from in their clause. Sony literally made Epic sign a contract that would prevent them from favoring microtransactions more on other platforms or side stepping them completely like they did with Apple and Google.

It's sad that people are angry at one company for being greedy when it's simply just a protection from publishers who are known for pulling actual greedy schemes like this.

Re: Days Gone Director on Skipped Sequel: 'If You Love a Game, Buy It at F***ing Full Price'

Dubbicakes

This mindset that developers deserve any form of support just by existing is a load of garbage. Prove your worth and maybe we'll let you succeed. This last decade has been hell for releases, nearly every triple A title has released half baked, buggy, or straight up unplayable. Days Gone was a buggy mess at launch and they paid for their incompetence. Higher game prices this generation will only make consumers think harder about their game choices going forward.

Genuinely impressed by this. The only thing I can say it needs is a little change to the lighting so to not feel so globally illuminated and to make the colors a little more vibrantly pop.

Would also love to see this game tie into the toys themselves, nothing Skylanders level, just like a code to unlock cars that match the same car you just bought or something. No doubt that'll be a microtransaction sink instead.

Re: JRPG Inspired Edge of Eternity Adventures to PS5, PS4 Later This Year

@UltimateOtaku91 That's the difference between a trillion dollar company and a 45 billion dollar company. Sony relies heavily on their profits to function, while Microsoft, or in this case Xbox, hasn't made a profit in years and burns through billions a year because they have eff it money.

I don't usually play sides, but this generation Xbox is playing dirty and buying everything to throw their dingdong around just to assert dominance. It's lame. I say that as someone who's enjoyed all their consoles and have been subbed to Gamepass for years on both Xbox and PC.

Re: Sony Locks the Door on Legacy Web-Based PS Store

The site is mindbogglingly counterintuitive, they've had to have seen a dip in sales since its launch. Not having screenshots or trailers completely kills interest in a game that forces people to go to other platforms to learn about them. Not having DLC or advertising related games also diminishes discoverability and harms sales. These are the bare minimum basics of visual merchandising and for a multi billion dollar company it's baffling that they've missed that.

Re: PS Plus Members Think Final Fantasy VII Remake May Be Free in March

Dubbicakes

Just a reminder to all the people here saying it's still selling well and whatnot, the game has regularly gone on sale for $20 since about September last year. Heck, I picked it up for $11.99 at target in October. It's a bargain bin title that would benefit more from Sony purchasing the rights to give it away than they make in stores.

I still think it's unlikely, but just pointing out a flawed stance on the why nots.

Re: Poll: Have You Been Experiencing Drift on Your DualSense PS5 Controller?

Dubbicakes

Honestly, just judging by my circles alone the people who have the most drift are the bunch who play competitive games or just don't understand they can tilt the stick without slamming it. It's the same story with people who don't dust their consoles out and then blame Sony for it over heating, a little self awareness goes a long way.

Re: Ghost Recon: Breakpoint Still Exists as PS5 Upgrades Detailed

Not surprising, Ubisoft like Bethesda are horrible at optimizing games. They're incredibly creative teams and make some of my favorite stuff, but when it comes to actually creating the games they're some of the laziest, or maybe just incompetent developers on the planet. Probably the latter because they hire the cheapest fresh out of college developers possible instead of investing in talent.
