Re: PS5 Fans Hope New Firmware Update Fixes Issues

Dubbicakes

I'm surprised this is all happening. I've had the better part of a week with my PS5 and so far the only issue that I've had is Spiderman Remastered kicked me back to the home screen once. I've Platinumed Astro, Spider man Remastered, and half way to getting the platinum with Miles Morales no issues.

I'm glad the one thing that's consistent between all first impressions is the controller is comfortable and its features are genuinely innovative and not gimmicky.

Re: The New PS Store for Web, Mobile Is a Dramatic Downgrade

Dubbicakes

I'm fine with the overwhelming amount of empty space, and banners that are way too big for no reason. What I'm not fine with are zero sorting or filtering options. The last store wasn't awesome but at least I could sort by newer titles, or what's cheap, or filter for games specifically so that I don't see a sea of in-game currencies and DLC.

Re: Soapbox: Screw Sony's PS5 Game Pricing, I'll Just Wait for Sales

I believe the cost of games being so high to produce is the bloat from executives or higher ups in general having such high salaries instead of production costs themselves. If a company that makes some of the largest, most detailed, most immersive worlds in the industry can make their games for a $59.99 flat price tag with no microtransactions at CD Projekt Red than any developer can.

@mvhess I'll agree with you that graphics don't make the game, but a poor art style will always sell less. Also, you're confusing effort with skill, just because 1+1+1+1+1=5 doesn't mean that 5 took much skill to achieve. My point is, I'm sure they've done a lot of work to make this game as a whole, but their efforts show how little skill they have at making games in general.

@mvhess Mocap is incredibly easy to the point that indie devs and mobile games use it constantly. 170 people and 2-1/2 years of development and it looks like a cheap mobile game. Just because you're willing to deep dive into their development and find a tiny glimmer of something special doesn't mean over 100 million others are. To the average consumer, which is the majority of people who buys games no matter the genre, looks matter and this game looks like garbage.

It's just a lazy, or incompetent remake. They seem to be the sort of developer that has very basic art or modelling with little substance so they turn up all the particles and lighting hoping it'll fill in for how lifeless and bare bones the game is.
The super low res textures on everything doesn't help either, you can count the pixels in the floor tiles.

Re: Talking Point: Could PS5 Be Delayed?

Dubbicakes

Click bait nonsense. "Could" suggests you have reason to speculate, which you don't and you said so, something a little less click bait is "should". There are also zero "rumors we've read" of a delay with Sony even sending out pre order emails to dash that.

Re: Feature: Ghost of Tsushima - 7 Things We Want from Future Updates

@Shigurui I do play all those games and enjoy them very much, Yakuza especially. I'd rather look at a loading screens that specifically tell me when I can play than to be forced to watch Jin feed his horse for 20 seconds wondering when my PS4 will catch up to let me start playing again. =]
Also, RNG systems are directly disrespectful to player time for longevity and not simply failing to respect a players time with fluff. There's a big difference in the two.
