As we move deeper into August, the looming release schedule is starting to get busier. With so many games on the horizon, here's what's keeping us occupied this weekend.
Aaron Bayne
I'm squadding up and getting tactical this weekend with a bit of Ready or Not.
Jamie O'Neill
While I can't decide if I'm more nostalgic for the first, or the third game, I'm still stoked to play Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4.

It's just more Donkey Kong Bananza for me!
Sammy Barker
I’m working through the new Demon Slayer game for review, but when I’m not playing that I’ll be continuing to enjoy Tekken 8’s story, which is as off the rails as you’d expect.
Stephen Tailby
I'm all about Death Stranding 2: On the Beach at the moment, so I'll be making deliveries and restoring infrastructure across Australia this weekend.
That's what we're playing this weekend, then, but what about you? Is there anything in particular that's holding your attention right now? Let us know in the comments section below.

My addiction for Diablo 2 kicked in ... again!
This game is a masterpiece! I just beat Hell difficulty with my paladin and now I am on my sorceress on the 3rd act in Hell.
On the side (IF Diablo 2 let me!) I will play Ghost of Tsushima and S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl. I have never played Stalker before, only watched it. I hope for some Fallout-ish experience
Happy gaming everyone
Completed Donkey Kong Bananza last week, but I might watch my son play it. I love the game.
That said, returning to Death Stranding 2 is the next project, which I also absolutely love. I’m just struggling to find time to play the PS5 though and the Switch 2 is much easier to squeeze sessions in at the moment.
Unless I decide to pick up something at random for Switch 2 in the near future (like Ragebound if it reviews in a way that tells me I need to play it, or unless we actually get a Direct soon and there’s some heavy hitters launching sooner than we could’ve guessed) I’ve basically got my gaming slate wiped clean for DS2 for the summer. I do work today though…
Baldur’s Gate 3. Absolutely loving it and it’s my first CRPG, now I’m willing to check out more.
Loving Diablo IV so more of that!
The odd run or 12 on Balatro as well so nothing new here really.
Have a great gaming weekend Pushsquarians! 🍻
Continuing Donkey Kong Bananza ❤️
Nothing much this weekend, off out day drinking today. If im not too hungover tomorrow then will carry on with the brilliant death stranding 2. Have a good weekend everyone.
Continuing with Cyberpunk 2077 on PS5 which I am loving so far (coming up to around 15 hours).
And inevitably wasting a bunch more time trying to complete my latest Gold run deck on Balatro, my true obsession.
Take it easy and have a good one peoples.
Stopped playing Diablo 4 and deleted it due to the enemy scaling making the whole thing pointless in single player. Might start Cyberpunk if I feel like it. Mainly still on the 3 games that I’ve been working through in the background for a while: Pirate yakuza, Eiyunder Chronicle, and Monster Train 2.
Greetings, good people.
Today I'm going to watch new Mission Impossible, so not much gaming time. Yesterday I finally finished Atelier Lulua. Truly a wonderful charming game, but true ending grind takes forever, so I'm deciding if I just can watch it on youtube and move on to next game.
Also I started Wuchang. Yes, PC performance is far from perfect, I get stutter when entering new area, but luckily in actual battles everything works fine. And the game is very beautiful, much prettier than grey stone walls and dark caves from everyone's favourite developer. And while I have yet to encounter interesting enemies, skills and spells system makes combat much more engaging than From ever done.
That's all for now, have a great weekend.
Kingdom Come Deliverance, which is finally getting going after 10 hours or so, plus some Balatro, I completed a red deck run yesterday after weeks of trying, I'll go on to green and black now.
Hoping to finish the superb Avowed on GamePass, such a great fantasy RPG set in the Pillars Of Eternity universe.
Also just finished Onimusha Warlords on PS4 - such great nostalgic memories of playing this on PS2 back in the day, even some of the horrific puzzles !
Also gonna dabble in online scraps in MK1 and Streetfighter 6 ...tune in to watch me getting my fat ass kicked !
Have a great weekend guys and gals ❤️
I’m heading back into Batman:Arkham Asylum as I fancy going for the plat. I will slowly come to regret this later; 😂 so I bought best solved cold for some mystery solving fun times.
I am playing where winds meet beta
Bought KCD2, at a camp, fed the mutt, horses looking as realistic as RDR2's, oooooohhh I know I'm in for a good time, this is my kind of game!
Saints Row The Third Remastered on PS5. It’s still a fun game today and you can’t go wrong for £4.99! The updated graphics look good too and it runs at a constant 60fps no matter how many explosions there are. I originally bought it to play co-op but my brother and I couldn’t connect so I decided to continue it on my own. My only other problem is that the HDR is way too dark and even maxing out the games brightness doesn’t really fix it.
This weekend i will be playing some more of the fantastic Ready or not and some Pikmin 4 on the switch with a little EA WRC and maybe some GT7 on the wheel. A nice bike ride with the wife and Fantastic 4 at the cinema. Have a good one.
I’ve not had much time for gaming recently but have a relatively free weekend so I’m looking forward to getting lost in Death Stranding 2 some more.
@TheArt it took me over 120 hours to beat the game and most of its content and I still didn’t want to stop playing. You’re in for a good, immersive time.
Still playing through Death Stranding, I think I’m not too far off the platinum. So good! I’m starting to think of a palette cleanser for afterwards. I’ll no doubt get the GT7 races in which I forgot to do yesterday. Closing in on 20M so I’ll get one of the super fancy cars soon, then there will be 7 left to go!
Just finishing off Donkey Kong Bananza, I've done the main story and post game quest, so just mopping up the rest of the Banana's. This game is amazing and has one of, if not the best end sequence I've seen in a game which i won't spoil here.
Once I'm done with that, it'll be back to finishing Death Stranding 2
Will today be a day to get back in to CyberPunk 2077? 🤔 And if it is, will I spend most of my time exploiting the photomode to make purposefully creepy, weird and grubby V photoshoots like this:
Chances are quite likely.
Really won’t have much time to game this weekend but when I do I’ll be squeezing in some time with Dying Light 2. Hope everyone has a good time gaming this weekend. Cheers!
A game I keep playing when I subscribe to Plus is Slay the Spire. No card game, except for the Gwent-Golden Era, has come close to the level of attachment and replayability.
Also, I have started Banisher: Ghosts of Eden. So far, I like that the Nightmare presents such a huge challenge to the protagonists in the very beginning.
I am also trying to finish Death Stranding. It is going somewhat slow.
I’m still slogging through Clair obscur on the 5pro. I also impulse bought a switch U so fast fusion and donkey kong bananarama on it.
Gonna play a bit Street Fighter 6 and after that i'll just chill for the rest of this weekend.
Maybe i'm gonna watch Fantastic 4, heard it's a solid movie better than any Marvel movies after Endgame except Deadpool and GotG vol 3.
I'm having to redownload everything on to my PS5 had to reset it this morning because none of my controllers would connect to the console. Hopefully get some Borderlands 3 in when I've reinstalled everything.
I just finish playing one of the greatest video games ever in the incredible crash bandicoot 1. in n sane trilogy. Crash bandicoot is one of the most iconic video games protagonist ever. The graphics. The gameplay.the boss fights. The soundtracks is incredible. will be playing fan favorite in the excellent mafia 2 definitive edition. And I will also be playing one of the best video games ever made in the amazing sleeping dogs definitive edition.i will be watching legendary sitcoms TV 📺 comedy shows in the Jeffersons. Good times.different strokes. Sanford and son.word up son
I'm having a break from VR since it's just too hot to comfortably wear a headset right now. So I've been trying out the shortest games I own in order to clear up a bit of the never-ending backlog. The standout this week was Blanc, a cute animal adventure where you control a wolf pup and a fawn with each stick (like in Brothers game).
Looking to finish off Veilguard - story and platinum - this weekend, after being distracted by game after game. The writing is so clumsy I get the criticism, but it's a really enjoyable romp with great combat and stunning environments. Recommended.
Started a mage run in Demon's Souls. I've always had a plan to try and complete the entire Soulsborne series using only magic. Looks like it's begun
Playing Horizon Forbidden west (PS5 version) for the first time, so far I'm loving the game, dare I say it's leaps and bounds better then the first one. But I have to agree with people who say Aloy doesn't shut up, you walk into a room/puzzle and she'll immediately blurt out the answer...
Xenoblade Chronicles X: It's been quite interesting meeting other alien races such as the Ma-non or the L and slowly researching the different areas of Mira. Elma is of course a great leader to follow, but I also like Gwin and Hope. It's definitely different than the rest of the series, but I like that it has its own unique flavor.
Cyberpunk 2077 on Pro - third time I’ve started this game and I’m now loving it. More AstroBot & Horizon ZD remastered too. On Series X - Call of Duty MWII, AoE4 & aiming to try out Wheel World too. Have a good weekend folks.
@Zuljaras ...the STALKER games are great, but nothing like Fallout really. They're very much old school PC survival shooters, can be very difficult and obtuse but are superb. The recent STALKER 2 is utterly brilliant
Greetings fellow video game enthusiasts. It’s all about Ys X this weekend. It’s the last weekend before the Edinburgh fringe starts so I’m about to be a busy boy. Video games.
Watching Lions V Australia atm. Epic game so far. Delighted to see this performance from Australia.
After that though, I got the plat for Nightreign the other night but there are a few dark bosses I want to beat too.
And then back to building roads in Death Stranding 2.
This week I’ve played, beaten, and got the platinum trophy in RoboCop: Rogue City - Unfinished Business. I think it’s exceptionally better than its predecessor, which says a lot because I think highly of the base package.
I like how the game is set in one location - a tower where your goal is to reach the pinnacle. This allows the game to set its own pace. For the most part it succeeds, though it does falter from time to time. Throughout its 10-hour runtime, the game switches its perspective by allowing you to play as other characters for a brief moment. They are short and sweet, but add context to its totally 80s-90s story.
When you get to play as Alex Murphy the game feels different to play in a positive way. The developer clearly has a knack for the first person shooter genre and it shows by how smooth the gunplay feels as a regular Joe instead of RoboCop.
I do have a few issues with the game. First, I wish there was more weapon variety. While there is large arsenal to choose from, there is only one weapon that is new compared to the first entry. To be fair, it’s a linear expansion that takes place immediately after the events of the main game, so it’s only a minor, almost irrelevant complaint. Plus, your quintessential Auto-9 feels amazing to use throughout the entire experience.
My second problem is the RPG-lite mechanics. You gain experience points and can level up various abilities, but I think the options could have been trimmed significantly. You can dump all your acquired points in the engineering tree so you can eventually unlock the ability to open all safes in the game without a combination. This is an essentially useless considering I only discovered one safe throughout the game and there wasn’t any meaningful reward. It’s not an issue that takes away any form of fun factor, but it is noticeable.
Lastly, and more importantly, the bugs. This game could desperately use a patch or two. Everything was in tip-top shape until midway through the campaign, when I started noticing dialogue issues where the NPC would go silent while speaking, or the cutscene ends abruptly when it shouldn’t have. In the same suit, I had issues where the overall sound was static, as if the speakers on my PlayStation Portal were going bad. I decided to see if it was a game issue or a hardware issue, and my television was also experiencing the same problem. To be on the safe side I booted up a few other games on both devices and it sounded perfect, so I know it was simply the game itself. Other than that, there weren’t any gameplay bugs or mission hindrances.
This might raise some eyebrows, but RoboCop: Rogue City - Unfinished Business will be in the conversation for my GOTY. It’s not perfect by any means, but in an age where every game feels like it has to be open world, having a linear experience was a breath of fresh air. I’ve yet to be disappointed by any Teyon developed games, and they know how to tick all the right boxes that I look for in the medium.
A quick side note: Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is my clear GOTY choice and it’s not even close.
I’m now biding my time until Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound releases. In the meantime, I did buy Blades of Fire since it is on sale. I have read tons of reviews and it sounds like it could be a cult classic down the line.
@Kraven I loved the first robocop whats the length like on this new content
@lazarus11 Probably 8 hours. 10 if you do all the side quests which are pretty short.
Elder Scrolls Online and Flintlock: The Siege at Dawn. Flintlock is a good game. But it’s a soulslike in a crowd of soulslikes. I feel like soulslikes need to stop coming out to be honest. Far too niche to ever actually match Souls game. I do like Flintlock though.
Close to finishing both Inscryption and Dave the Diver. Both incredibly addictive Indies.
Talking of Indies Balatro will get an outing as usual
I am actually very new to rogue like card builders.
If I like the above will I like Monster Train and/or Slay the Spire? Any chance they will hit PS Plus??
Banishers - Its growing on me the more I play, so I’m enjoying it quite a lot. Its a pretty grim tale from DontNod, I like it!
Cod WW2 - only playing short sessions here and there since I only can play when my son isnt using the Series S but it remains a fun action blockbuster 🙂
Also, Forza Horizon 5 which I’m enjoying but its going to take a while to get that platinum…
@EfYI see my post below. I should have scrolled comments first. If I like Inscryption and Balatro will I like Slay?
@thefourfoldroot1 would love your thoughts on MT2
I’ve been playing Steamworld Build, another great Steamworld game. It’s like Anno-lite, but the gameplay loop is delightfully addictive.
I also picked up Blood and Truth cheap for the VR, and may give Endless Dungeon a try.
Absolutely mullering GT7 sport mode atm. Finally got a win on this weeks daily C race at RBR last night! Also I will be on the Hogwarts grind for the platinum this evening but first taking the kids to see their nan. Enjoy your weekend peoples
DK Bananza for me. What a game!!
Silent Hill 2 remake ng+ then S.T.A.L.K.E.R
Based on recommendations I got Helldivers 2 on Steam and I am enjoying it quite a lot. Sometimes I still have no idea what am I doing and still playing solo until I learn it properly but it’s great.
I bought unknown 9 awakening for a fiver from amazon, so many things wrong , the environments look great and the voice acting is good mainly , it could be fixed but they probably can't be bothered, as it sold about 3 copies 😂
Played golf with my brother this morning and I was going to play the first berzerker khazan but my adorable little pup bozzer took a liking to the disc and promptly chewed the arse end out of it..there's no saving it so I've got to buy another copy..the irony is I bought physical instead of digital because it was cheaper 😂..that worked out well. I guess I'll take my vengeance out on @Kidfunkadelic83 later on EA wrc because he thought the pics I sent him of the disc was quite funny..
@old_gamer74
Definitely worth the £20. Or I think it’s free on Gamepass.
If you played the original it’s pretty identical. Some new mechanics in terms of being able to add equipment to units and rooms, but I do miss not being able to merge units.
A much larger choice of clans, including all the original ones, some having some fun mechanics and synergies.
Overall though more of the same great game.
I will try to finish Fire Emblem (GBA), and try out Romancing SaGa 2 on Switch. On PS5, I may try to make progress on Tales of Arise, or go back to Ghost of Tsushima, which I started but dropped fairly early on. Xbox Series S... just turn on and admire the UI, but unlikely to play anything of substance.
@Northern_munkey it brought back memories of when my dog chewed our brand new table legs. I cant beat you on WRC anyway, thats something ive come to terms with 😂
I have finally gotten around to Forspoken in the year of our Lord 2025. And man: the Pushsquare review of this game directly hits the nail on the head. It is the most hit and miss game ever. The story telling and pacing and dialogue and characters are SO bad. Boring, uninspiring, with sudden and/or wildly shifting motivations. I have fallen asleep twice doing side quests in the main hub, because everyone you meet is boring, and cuff won’t stop yammering.
But outside the city walls-exploration and movement and combat are SO fun. Especially a little later in the game when more tools open up. Every time I get to go outside the city, I have a blast.
That fun is going to keep me playing until credits. It is just such a shame. Forspoken could have really been something with a little more work on the story. I just want to acknowledge that Push Square specifically told me all of this before I started playing. I went back and read out of curiosity, and it listed my highs and lows for the game point by point! 😃
TES Oblivion Remastered has taken over! Surprisingly, the latest patch has actually noticeably improved performance for me on base PS5. It's not perfect but it's better than before for me. Not sure if that's been anyone else's experience. And I'm supposed to play more MH Wilds Flamefete festival today with the boys but idk.
Happy gaming everyone!
Totally in love with Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and Donkey Kong Bananza! I wish I had more time to play this weekend.
This weekend for me will be Monster Hunter Wilds, Fatal Fury COTW, Lunar Remastered Collection, and Capcom Fighting Collection 2.
@RogueCooper
Thanks bud. It does seem like something a bit special. And same to you, whenever you get around to it. 👍
@Kidfunkadelic83 in all fairness I've virtually lived on that game for over 12 months...
@old_gamer74
Oh boy, it will blow both titles out of the water for you if I dare say so!
Balatro-creator readily admits that his game is heavily inspired by Slay The Spire. I think it is the GOAT.
Basically, you have different characters with their own card pool + a neutral card pool for all. You can win relics and unlock them for more powerful "runs" to continually pick at goals for this.
Clearing the 3rd DLC of Borderlands 3. This game is so packed of content. Only 2 trophies remaining in Star Wars Outlaws, so gonna grind those. Also, Yakuza 6, very good, gripping and beautiful game. Carry on.
Death Stranding 2 all weekend baby. Maybe I’ll finally wrap up First Beserker and then I can split my time between DS2 and Wuchang. And I’ve got a certain play test I’m in I cannot speak about so I’ll be doing that too! Happy gaming everyone!
I was finishing Jedi survivor trophy clean up only to realise multiple bugs stopped my plat run. Say what you want about Ubisoft I have plat trophies for their games at least. On to clair obscure expedition 33.
Wuchang Fallen Feathers. It's a lot better than the review given here. Also playing the beta for Where Winds Meet. There's a lot of choppiness in the cut scenes (it's a beta), but outside of that, this one is a masterpiece. Can't wait to dig into the full game. Happy gaming everyone.
Ghost of Tsushima
Didn't get to play it much over the course of the week, but still enjoying my replay of the game.
@Dalamar ...that's a fantastic film, 2 amazing set pieces in particular are superb. Enjoy !
@Feffster great weekend of gaming right there !
Twins (Windows Phone) - Fun little puzzle platformer so far.
Gears POP! (Android) - Still watching vids for it.
Gun Bros (Windows Phone) - Been stuck the past couple of days. I might cheat a little and look up a solution to this last one.
KCD2 DLC. A little PSVR2 on the side. Hopefully, I'll finish Behemoth and start The Midnight Walk.
@old_gamer74 To many, Slay the Spire still remains the original and best roguelite deckbuilder out there. No two characters or runs are the same, and is both easy to pick up, yet hard to master.
Monster Train (1 & 2) plays similarly, whilst adding a tower defence mechanic to the mix. Personally, I prefer MT over StS, mainly because MT runs feel easier in my opinion, but you really cannot go wrong with either. Speaking of:
I finally achieved platinum trophy in Fantasy Life i back on Thursday (my 4th platinum); wonderful RPG from start to finish. I'll likely keep playing (albeit a bit less until the eventual DLC update), but in the meantime I double dipped on Monster Train 2 (having already rolled credits on Steam Deck) and cleared my first run this morning. I cannot say this enough, the soundtrack is fantastic.
Have a great weekend y'all!
@ErrantRob "Maybe I’ll finally wrap up First Beserker"
Maybe you could help @Northern_munkey out with the story as his dog ate his disc 🫢
Here's what I will be playing.
Suikoden (Xbox Series X) Continuing with my playthrough of this great RPG.
CoD: WWII (Xbox Series X) Still enjoying multiplayer.
Madden 25 (Series X) Just about to wrap up my fourth year on the Broncos
@4fold thanks! On it 👌
@Shadeon_Koopa thanks mate. Based on this and @4fold response I will pick up MT this weekend and put in the queue
Days Gone Remastered. I feel like over the years i consistently heard rumblings of how “mid” the game was, but Ive been pleasantly surprised. Lovin it.
@EfYI oh man i better get STS as well as MT then!!
Just came back from another festival. Rockelingen. Pro pain was the headliner. Had a great time with my wife and my friends.
Sunday is all about hangovers and Banishers!
Have a great weekend!
I finally got the plat for Skyrim so I'll be chilling out with some Everybody's Golf and grinding the Gotham streets at night in Gotham Knights.
@Kidfunkadelic83 that's low brother..
Still working my way through Dragons Dogma 2, most enjoyable.
I have an urge to play Banishers soon as Ive been highly recommended it.
Whatever you are playing this weekend, I hope you have fun.
@Northern_munkey in just bitter i cant touch you on WRC
@Titntin banishers is really good. I'm having a lot of fun with it.
@Kidfunkadelic83 you've beaten me a few times recently.
Damn-it! Started playing Cyberpunk to find out it’s been censored (I watched my mate play some near release so know exactly what’s been done with NPCs and own character). Now I’ve just got pissed off and lost all motivation to play it. They really chickened out. The worst possible game to add censorship to.
To advertise heavily as not being censored, then stealth hit us with massive censorship evident after only hours of play, possibly after the dlc has been purchased, is extremely insulting to me.
One piece of good news, I did find out about this patched in censorship before I purchased the phantom liberty city expansion. Was about to pull the trigger. Managed not to waste £25.
Btw, they didn’t patch out all the bugs. Got soft locked out of progress from the very first mission. Luckily had a save I could revert to. Good to see their priorities.
@Titntin Cheers man, Im looking forward to trying it!
@lazarus11 I liked the look of this but got put off by reviews saying it's very janky
@Kidfunkadelic83 @northern_munkey I saw his comment about the disc. My 3 little ones are why I had to switch to digital only.
I imagine you would both wipe the floor with me on WRC. A series I’d love to get into but just never have.
@Titntin talking to yourself? Better get that checked out old man 😂
@ErrantRob I'm not as fast as @Kidfunkadelic83 makes out but I have been playing it for a long time. I don't know how it plays with a controller but if you have a steering wheel you'll love it. EA wrc is the one we play as the WRC games are good but hard to get the controls just right. If you are thinking of diving in then I personally recommend dirt 2.0 and EA wrc.
@Northern_munkey lol. It might just be the only way to get a sensable answer here 😂
@Titntin 😂
@ErrantRob doubt it, im crap 😂. Its still bloody hard with a wheel but its super fun and so much more precise. Even with a cheaper wheel like the T300rs or logitech g29 its going to add alot more to your game but these T598s are just a step ahead. @Northern_munkey isnt keen on the feel of GT7 but i absolutely love it. 5 series race tonight and after i thought my arms were going to fall off 😂 messed up aswell on the last track and came 2nd so ive got to do it all again tomorrow 🤬
