Hell yes. Lords reboot was a great soulsilke overly pandered by media as many continue to do to this day if they aren't out of Fromsoft.

Many of them have been superior to Fromsoft in visuals, design, mechanics etc. At the very least they try and build on the formula in meaningful ways and bring visual fidelity to modern day standards. Yes that can lead to some technical shortcomings from these underpowered consoles, however I'd argue that it's far better to have a game looking great with technical hiccups rather than play a title using a decade and a half old engine, reusing decade old animations across games and Still running with technical issues....

If they can iron some things out to better refine what they produced in the first, Lords 2 is likely a day 1 for me.

@ear_wig The game is good! I got my ass kicked easily by the first boss but I loved the general aesthetic and the design. I didn’t like being invaded randomly and killed by overpowered players who kept teabagging me as if they were playing Call of Duty. That’s annoying! I disabled multiplayer after that.

When the game launched I felt it had the potential to exceed Elden Ring’s popularity. Key word here is potential, and while I don’t see the sequel as doing that either I do see it as being a massive step in the right direction and potentially one of 2026’s biggest releases. If CI and Hexworks continue on their path, they’re bound to strike diamonds. Lots of goodwill, here’s to hoping they don’t CDPR it.

This is great to hear! I quite enjoyed the first one and thought the dual world mechanic was an excellent addition / improvement on the Souls formula. Will be eagerly looking to pick this up when it releases.

Started playing this with my son because it allows full on multiplayer (unlike Elden Ring). But stopped after a bit because it’s just not my cup of tea. Great for all those who want this though.

I hope they just call it "Lords of the Fallen." 😂

But seriously, I really enjoyed the reboot and can't wait to see what the sequel has in store. My only concern is they said that they were going to make the art style a little more palatable for a wider audience, but I really, really enjoyed the macabre art style of the reboot, so I hope it doesn't stray too far.

Loved it when it first released, loved the reboot, and then the 2.0 patch was even better. So looking forward to this for sure

Bought it a while back and started playing but just fell off it pretty early on around Pilgrims Perch. I will give it another go at some point but the two realm lamp mechanic really put me off. I also felt the stat progression just felt off. I went up a fair amount and it just seemed to have little to no impact compared to normal souls titles.

Somehow lords of the fallen returned.

Regarding the first game, I liked the way the combat felt and the overall atmosphere/art direction was really good, but I really don't like how they implemented the lamp's mechanics, and the fact that some of the bosses are really bad.

Hopefully the sequel can improve on some of the lower points of the first game.

I own the first game, but haven't played it yet, @aethermath. It's good to know you can disable the multiplayer bit as I never use that anyway. I always beat any Souls game I play entirely solo. The idea of being invaded though does not sound like fun to me. I played New World: Aternum, and they have one area that is entirely PvP, meaning I never went there...😂

I loved everything about the previous game except weapon moveset variety. Unlike FromSoft games, where every weapon has its own small quirks and combos, LotF featured tons of weapons but every weapon within a class had the exact same moveset.
There were one or two boss weapons with special moves but that was it.
So if CI Games could fix this for the sequel I’m all aboard!

Hell yeah I'll be having some of this. Lies of p and lords of the fallen are the two best souls type games outside of fromsoft. I can't wait to see how this looks.

@Coffeeglitch Same, I felt it would rival and exceed Dark Souls, but after playing for a few hours, I was so turned off by it. Just a lackluster game, boring, and repetitive; a glitch machine. The lamp mechanic is neat, but the character models and AI just suck. It's not fun to play it and will not return to it.

I recently beat the game in shared multiplayer and really enjoyed it. I must admit that changing between realms was cool at first but it got old quickly so I don’t think that’s needed again. Also the auto save stuttering was ridiculous in co-op making some of the boss fights more difficult then they should have been.

@Rambo-kind to call this game a Glitchfest is absurd I was playing day one for the first round of patches and glitches ?.... Nah.
Very few glitches the game may not have run perfectly but honestly the big commotion that continues to happen over some performance issues with Unreal Engine 5 is so overblown and ridiculous it's basically a bandwagon hate campaign at this point, just rage bait.

It's of course going to have problems running on these consoles these consoles are severely underpowered compared to where PC is at right now and because of that getting some of the things like Lumen and then like to work well is difficult.

The game ran fine at lunch and runs better now and so does and a myriad of other Unreal Engine 5 games that get review bombed for minor issues. The funny thing is the real issue is actually just underpowered and poor implementation of current Tech. The fact that multitudes of games are still releasing using a old version of FSR is literally the number one reason image quality is so bad with a lot of these titles.

Yet I digress. My point is that Lords of the Fallen was not a glitch fest. I can't even think of a single instance of what I would call a glitch occurring in about 100 hrs put into it. Yes there were some performance issues and maybe some crashes during release the window beginning but other than that nah. Feels like an exaggeration claim rooted in bias...

I also don't see how it is anymore repetitive than any Souls like where combat is essentially a repetitive tactical dance with each encounter.

I wonder if this will be as bad as the first one.

Perhaps the first (not the original first, which already has) will arrive on ps plus essential soon... 🤔

As someone who preordered, I’m still very salty over the abysmal state that the game launched in. I’ll go into this sequel with significantly more scepticism and caution. I learnt that lesson the hard way. Even after all the patches the game still cannot hope to compete with the quality and polish of Lies of P in my opinion, so I hope to see significant improvements in this sequel.

Let´s see if the studio learned with their mistakes in the first lords of the fallen and release the game without a zillion of bugs...
I will only buy the game after reviews, and then I will know about the game´s state.

This just moved up to my moat anticipated game absolutely cannot wait. I started LoTF 2023 right before the 2.0 update and it quickly became my favorite Soulslike. Really unfortunate that it had so many problems at launch.

I really don't like soulslikes as a rule, but the demo was amazing! Looking forward to full release..

@Rambo-kind I found the opposite. I’m one of the few who finds Elden ring, despite having nearly 1000 hours in it, to be lacklustre in terms of innovation. It’sa jack of all trades, master of none scenario. Lords of the fallen felt like a jack of some trades, master of few instead. I view that as a good thing, and I’ve gotten plenty of hours of enjoyment from it.

I feel like Elden ring hit me differently due to the fact that fromsoft has been rocking about that formula for decades, and Hexworks only just took a swing at it. Maybe that’s it for me, a feeling of passion and fresh blood in a dried sea.

@KundaliniRising333 it had a few glitches but they were mostly amusing. Falling through the map, the already cranky blacksmith repeating a line endlessly, etc.

I do disagree about FsR though, the issue seems to stem from some other issues with UE5. I’m not a developer, and don’t know a lot of the specifics but from what I’ve heard from devs the engine itself has trouble balancing workloads between GPU and CPU, and often ignores ram for some reason. Perhaps I’m incorrect in my understanding, but plenty of games run older upscaling tech to great success. DK bananza is a good example, as it’s running such an old version of fsr1 that it may as well be primordial. Yet it runs fine.

@Cakefish I was genuinely shocked at how clean Lies of P was at launch. What a massive achievement. Granted their studio gets constant bonuses for good performance , pay raises and gifts. Shows what happens when your employees feel secure in their jobs and know their hard work matters right?

Still need to crack this one open, but they keep changing it which has me constantly putting it off for that reason. Doesn’t help that just about all guides are also seemingly outdated bc of this, which kinda sucks for a completionist. 😅

I bought it first day, I felt satisfied bout it, so I will buy sequel too!

Best Soulslike for me loved it and i must get a replay in. Looking forward to the sequel, but i hope they do a bit more with the npcs and raise the voiceover game, the originals were a bit hit and miss

They should drop the 2 and just call it Lords of the Fallen again, just like the last two games. Keep it going as a recurring thing for every entry in the franchise to have the same title.
