We’re on the cusp of a gaming avalanche, so this may be your last proper weekend to clear through your backlog. And that’s only if you’re planning to skip some of the new releases this week, like Mafia: The Old Country.

It's all about Battlefield 6 for me this weekend. I've been loving my time with the beta so far and can't wait to get a proper session in!
Jamie O'Neill
While surfing the PS Store I discovered a little known pixel art game called 9 Years of Shadows, which released on PS5 on 31st July. I'm going in blind, so fingers crossed it's a fun little Metroidvania.

I'll be blasting my way through Mafia: The Old Country to try and bring you a review as soon as possible.
Stephen Tailby
I've finished Death Stranding 2: On the Beach (loved it) just in time, as I now embark on playing a fresh game for review purposes. That's scuppered my plan of finally checking out Lies of P now that it's on PS Plus, so that'll have to wait!
So, that's what we're playing this weekend, but what about you? As always you know the drill, so let us know in the comments section below.

After being absorbed by Diablo 2 I am going to keep it simple this weekend Btw I got Enigma and beat the Ubers!
First trying out Broken Sword Shadow of the Templars. I LOVE point and click adventures so I am sure I will like this one
I am going to get some nostalgia with TMNT and some 1v1 matches in StarCraft 64!
Happy gaming everyone!!!
Diablo IV still has its hooks in me! Completed the campaign last night and reached Paragon level 2 so cracking on with everything else.
May just have to be that today but will probably be playing with with my war obsessed son on a game called Enlisted, not the best but keeps him happy.
I’ve finally purchased God of War: Ragnorok so I really am looking forward to start that as well but Diablo has my attention right now.
Enjoy your gaming weekend Pushsquarians!
I'm kind of inbetween games, I recently finished Donkey Kong Bananza which I loved and have just bounced between a few retro games since. I do have Death Stranding 2 to finish and I will return to that, just not in the mood for it right now.
I'll probably just play some more 16/32 Bit games for now, like Road Rash, Die Hard Trilogy and some Streets of Rage
Made a start on Resident Evil: Revelations on Wednesday, so looking to get further into that. It feels a little sluggish and janky but… I quite like it tbh. Reminds me of Dead Space for some reason (although nowhere near as good). Looking forward to trying the co-op too!
I will continued playing the excellent immortal Fenix rising.i will also continued playing the amazing darksiders warmaster edition. And I will continued playing the incredible gravity rush remastered.i will be watching legendary sitcoms TV 📺 comedy shows in the Jeffersons. Good times.different strokes and Sanford and son. Word up son
I’ll be on the Switch 2 for the most part this weekend, but for my other consoles I will definitely get in on Street Fighter 6. Maybe… Fatal Fury COTW if I have time.
@Zuljaras It certainly inspired many point and click games! I got the PS5 physical! Just gotta wait however many years for them to remaster my favourite BS game, the second game in the series! 😅
I've been playing Lies of P on the easiest difficulty which still feels challenging for me and my nerves when playing souls games, and a bit of Grid Legends but on hard mode because otherwise even on medium difficulty I just find myself very quickly at the front of the pack and bored racing alone in 1st, which is odd, I'm usually rubbish at racing games too..
Split between Death Stranding 2 (great), and Mass Effect Andromeda (just about good enough to pass the time).
Managed to persuade my wife we needed a Switch 2 (didn't take much persuasion to be fair especially as our switch 1 doesn't work with most carts anymore) so I'm playing DK Bananza and it's as good as I hoped.
Also still on the brilliant Tails of Iron 2 on PS5 and tried a bit of Lies of P which I quite enjoyed but will come back to that
Cracking on with Star Wars Outlaws - very early on but enjoying it so far. A couple of minor gripes with the control scheme and mechanics but they have absolute nailed the sound, look and feel of a good Star War.
Started Mafia The Old Country last night and love what I've played so far so I'll be continuing with that and also be playing some more of Battlefield 6 beta can't wait for the full release now.
Almost done with Banishers.
Gonna give the bf6 beta a try. If I can get in a match.
Also going to see fantastisch four with my kids this evening.
Have a great weekend!
On PS5 i will be continuing with the Tales of Arise DLC and starting Mado Monogatari Fia and the Wondrous Academy.
On Switch 2 it's more Donkey Kong Bananza and No Sleep for Kaname Date.
Continuing my Kingdom hearts Platinum Journey With Re Chain of Memories.
I tried a few matches on BF6 open beta and I once again saw that mp is really not doing for me in games most of the time.
I will continue to try Returnal 2nd biome boss, I have strange relationship with the game since I was so close the quit but one of my latest attempts ended up with finally reaching the boss.
I started CO-Expedition 33 but only played prologue and while it was a nice intro I don't think it was "gripping" like most of the people said.
I also finished the first world on DK-Country Returns HD, so I will continue with that too probably. My biggest gripe is lack of specific button for "roll". My death were mostly about that.
Good weekend everyone!
I bought ninja gaiden ragebound which is just so much fun but I'm also going to be very obvious in my choice of forza 5,EA wrc and GT7...have a great weekend folks👍
I’ll be playing asscreed syndicate on the 5pro along with some donkey Kong bananarama and mars war logs on the side. I will give battlefield 6 a few more matches but so far I do not care for it.
Still Nightreign and Death Stranding 2.
I'm thinking about starting Crosscode at some point too, and I'll have to go back to Khazan eventually. You'd think there'd be enough time between now and Christmas to be finished with them all...
Just bought the 16 game WB pack on humble for a tenner to play on steam deck. I'm pretty new to steam etc and the deals on there are amazing
Hopefully I'll finish Pyre this weekend. Really liked it. Im also going to try the BF6 beta.
Enjoy everyone
Finally got the platinum for Dragon Age: Veilguard. It was truly one of the best gaming experiences I’ve ever had. Great gameplay, an engaging story, and most importantly, characters I completely fell in love with. Now that it’s over and I know I won’t get to interact with them anymore, it feels like the end of a beloved TV show. You’re left with this strange yet beautiful sense of connection to the characters, and then suddenly, it’s just gone...
Has anyone else felt that way after beating a game?
Anyway, I’m currently having a blast with Hades. It’s such an addictive game, and I’ve just realised that roguelikes are absolutely my favourite type of game.
Mafia: The Old Country and BF6 beta for me!
Mafia: The Old Country.
It's kinda slow paced at times which I don't mind but I could see people being put off by it.
Trying to clear my (huge) backlog by focusing on some lesser known, lower profile games that I've been sat on for years
So, finished the Onimusha Warlords remaster - forgot how great this game was in its PS2 heyday. Brilliant
Should finish Rogue Trooper Redux - a VERY basic but enjoyable shooter but once played, best forgotten..
I'll also complete SOMA but haven't really been that into it, it's merely ok ....Still Wakes The Deep did it all a 1000 times better
Have a great weekend guys and gals ❤️
Titan Quest looking for the platinum.
And after that (maybe next week) Lies of P.
I just keep on keeping on and on and on and on…
This weekend I'm only playing Ninja Gaiden Ragebound Hard mode. I'm at the secret final level where i must fight all boss again but no shuriken, can't heal at all, and no checkpoint. This level is no joke 😅
I hope i can finish this secret level and then clean up the rest of trophies for Platinum.
Have a good weekend everyone 🍻
Edit:
Finished the secret final level and got that Endless Struggle trophy. I thought i'm gonna fight all bosses again, already prepared myself for a long run. But turns out only the four main boss. I'm a bit...dissapointed lol. Got Kasumi and Hayate costume as a reward though.
I'm a couple of chapters into Mafia and generally enjoying the vibe but already starting to feel like the game could/should be so much better (a general trend with this series)
Greetings fellow video game enthusiasts. I’m knee deep in the Fringe trenches so won’t have any time to vidja game this weekend. While it’s a lot of fun I’m looking forward to just sitting down with Ys X and not having to think about making people laugh. Just call me Ted. ExhausTed.
@naruball Mass Effect 2 was mine, 1st game to pop in my head. Great story and characters. Guardians of the galaxy as well as I know it’s marvel based but such an awesome story and soundtrack. Really miss playing those story games.
Anthem
And Toaplan Arcade Collection 3 on Evercade.
Well i did play a few matches of battlefield beta this morning seems a good solid shooter, but it just confirmed im done with online shooters. Might still pick it up at somepoint for the campaign. My m8 who i havent seen in ages is coming down today so few beers and catch up. Hopefully tomorrow carry on with death stranding 2 if not too hungover. Tempted to get mafia but will wait till i finish death stranding first..... i think 😅. Have a good weekend everyone
Not sure if I'll be playing anything as I beat the excellent Death Stranding 2 and then played and also finished Crime Scene Cleaner which I had a lot of fun with but now I'm lost and unsure what game to buy next.
Enjoy your weekend all!
@Onearmbandit thanks for sharing. I need to give Guardians of the Galaxy another chance.
Bit of Balatro (obvs). Felt the urge for some racing so been dipping into NfS Hot Pursuit Remastered - it's fine. Trying to motivate myself to put some time into Paradise Killer before my PS+ extra sub runs out. And looking forward to starting Bomb Rush Cyberfunk today...
But I also need to do a bit of reading and watch my teams Championship opener as well as some NFL pre-season action... My day needs some more hours adding!
Hope you all have a fantastic weekend and some great gaming whatever you're up to.
@naruball Your welcome.
It really is a fantastic story and if you can forget about the films and enjoy the games characters I reckon you’ll like it. I still need to get back in Veilguard now you’ve mentioned it.
Heretic and Hexen on the pro, 4k 120fps and gyro controls, love Nightdive 👍
Going to keep on keeping on with Death Stranding 2 and UFO 50 with a bit of Is This Seat Taken?
Oh maybe Drag X Drive’s beta too!
Been playing shorter games this week, to clear up the backlog for a better future:
Minute of Islands

Gorgeous (just look at it) and moody platform puzzler about a girl tasked with maintaining ancient machinery in a dying world. Gameplay isn't much to write about, but it hit me right in the feels.
Observation

Great space horror/drama that feels like the game version of 2001: A Space Odyssey. You play as an AI with control of cameras and drones aboard a space station where lots of mysterious s**t is going down.
Still on the ever so immersive, side quest interesting, well written KCDII. The so stylish Clairrr Obscurrr - taking on the difficult optional bosses. Plus the outstanding HFW, trying to take on The Enduring.
@JamieO I've played 9 Years of Shadows and it's good, but I had to give up on the last couple of bosses as it just got too difficult. The game is reliant on a healing system where you get a chance to heal damage you receive by pressing a button at the right time (think Gears of War reloading) and I just could never get it quite right.
Maybe your reflexes are sharper than mine, though.
So summer leave is over, and we’re back home which should mean more gaming 😃
CoD WWII - I’ve finished the campaign and even if its not my favorite its still very enjoyable in that old school FPS blockbuster action kind of way. I hope we get all the older CoDs on gamepass, and I’ll happily play/replay them.
Banishers - I’m enjoying the story, and the grimness of the world, however the gameplay (the fighting mostly) and that many locations look very samey (especially caves/mines) is starting to have a negative effect on me. Should be getting closer to the end though, so thats good cause Indont want it to overstay its welcome. Probably not going to platinum this game.
FH5 - gotta say that after getting the Eliminator trophy this is a pretty fun platinum to get, and I enjoy playing shorter sessions each day 🙂
Completed PS1 Loaded on Evercade last night, just as fun as I found it on the Saturn at the time. Shame the sequel isn't as good. This weekend be picking up on the Mega Drive game Arcus Odyssey also on Evercade, I'm at about the fifth stage.
Also bought Elite Dangerous on PS4 for less than £4 pounds in the current sale. Realise its a very incomplete version compared to PC, but I'd not played it in years and am enjoying starting over with some courier missions, something very relaxed about the pace.
@JamieO That 9 Years of Shadows game totally passed me by, has a nice retro style.
Good afternoon.

This weekend I played Fantasy Life I PS5 ALL DAY LONG. 🤓
I have reached Chapter 7 which I had mission to gather Eternian materials to craft Interfere Cogs to stop the Cog Gears rotation.
Such a tough mission as every 5 stuffs involved 5 different jobs with at least above level 40 to beat the lv 50 Bosses.
Btw, I have found the easy money farming by crafting White Wooly Stickers then sell them with price 400 Dosh each.
Sweeping up the remaining trophies for the Gotham Knights platinum. Also started playing the Arkham trilogy with Arkham Asylum. Still a great game with imaginative boss fights.
Playing Yakuza 6. As always, a masterclass in story development, and great combat. My actual major game, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, exploring the Corel region. I will be doing the new content of Death Stranding DC too. Long time I played the PS4 version, It's coming back for my muscle memory. And on TV, the new Outlander show, Blood of My Blood. That's it my friends!!
Kingdom Come Deliverance is finally gelling after around 20 hours, and watching YouTube videos for tips, for things such as lock picking.
When it gets too frustrating, then I'll hop over to Balatro, I need to defeat the black deck.
On the last boss of First Beserker for the platinum and it’s been a battle. I’m tempted to lower the difficulty and forego the platinum and move on.
I also really want to get back to Death Stranding 2 and Ninja Gaiden RageBound and Wuchang all of which I’m cycling through.
There’s just so much to play!
Should be a packed weekend. I'll take care of mom's weekly grocery run, grab lunch with a buddy to celebrate his 40th, run out a few towns over to grab my son from his cousin's house, and settle in for some NFL preseason. Doing some back to school shopping for him on Sunday - we've turned that into an annual family outing. Fun stuff.
When i have some gaming time, I will be doing some exploration in Expedition 33 before heading to what I presume to be the last area. Eve online is a possibility too - we'll see. Sitting at my desk is not appealing at all after the week I had at work.
Have a great weekend, everybody.
I'm at work atm, so playing something a bit different while I'm on my break.
It's called Audio Adventures and it's a choose your own adventure audio console. I'm currently playing through a game called Bewilder.
Once I get home from work I'll be trying out Battlefield 6 and carrying on with Welcome to Paradize and Mafia: The Old Country.
Started Lies of P, sailed through to the first boss without dying but this guy is kicking my wooden backside
EDIT: Got him
Unreal Tournament 2004 and Deathloop (but not at the same time)
Unfortunately I’m not gonna have a lot of time to game again this weekend as I’m still dealing with some family drama but what time I will have will be spent finishing up the platinum for Dying Light 2. Just finished the DLC for it yesterday so I’m hoping to make good progress on the last 3 trophies I have left for collectibles and distance traveled. Otherwise I hope everyone has a great time with whatever they’re playing! Have a great weekend all!
Well I've pause Oblivion Remastered (45hrs in and loving it) to start up Lies of P (3.5hrs in) its really good! Looking forward to experimenting with weapon parts this weekend.
Game on fellow PushSquare Netizens!
@playstation1995 Gravity Rush Remastered is GOATED!
@roe I just finished it up this morning, and its exactly how I feel, its good really good..and then they just run out of steam instantly always promising more but it never arrives, shame really because they do a good job of a very rarely explored point in time, and they do a decent gangster story
@sorteddan Bomb Rush Cyberfunk is a gem. Amazing OST too
I'll be playing "Getting everything lined up" as I prepare to move 1200 miles next weekend!! Sure will be glad when it's done & I'm settled in.
This week I managed to obtain the platinum trophy for Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound. It was a sublime experience, and only gets better once you unlock hard mode. It’s here where the game truly begins as you endure the classic difficulty of the original NES trilogy.
The last trophy was the hardest, and I’m not sure how I managed to accomplish it. In order to get the platinum you need to complete the game in hard mode. This difficulty setting introduces more difficult enemies in the earlier stages as well as more traps sprinkled throughout the levels. It’s a brilliant way to make the second playthrough feel fresh. Subsequently, you are required to do a boss rush without dying. What makes this even more challenging is that there are no health items or power upgrades. I have no idea how I did this, but it’s one of my proudest platinum trophies.
I’ve said it last week - The Game Kitchen deserves to make a 2D Castlevania game. The Blasphemous games were fantastic, and now NG has surpassed all expectations. This developer simply understands how to make 2D action platformers along with Metroidvania games, from precise platforming, challenging combat and levels that steadily progress in difficulty, rewarding abilities that are paced out expertly, and atmosphere that sucks you into their world.
I have also started Mafia: The Old Country. I am a couple of hours in but I consider it pretty good. in fact, it’s exactly what I expected from a Mafia game; a gripping narrative with solid gunplay.
I understand some people’s hesitation on the game due to its archaic design (PS2 energy) with its gunplay and stealth mechanics. From time to time it’s a cover based shooter, an on-rails set piece, and stealth sections that are mandatory but simplistic in nature. However, my question to some is: Why is this a bad thing? I’m not sure why there were expectations that The Old Country was going to reinvent the wheel in its gameplay. The Mafia games have always emphasized narrative over gameplay. That isn’t to say it couldn’t be better — it absolutely could — but I knew what I signed up for and it’s exactly what I wanted.
With all of that said, I do have one minor complaint and that is its limited open world that generally keeps you on the straight and narrow. While I absolutely adore a linear experience, The Old Country does an exceptional job of recreating 1900s Sicily that it’s a shame you can’t fully explore it because it’s a beautiful landscape that is rich with history and deserves your undivided attention. Nonetheless, it still immerses you deeply and I’m excited to see how things ultimately unfold.
Just grabbed the Platinum for Days Gone Remastered and now will be finishing up Challenges mode, then my permadeath mode if all goes well. Absolutely loving the game btw. Like, wow. Love it.
Skyrim. There, I said it. I feel ashamed because I purchased a PS5 three years ago and haven't put in more than maybe a handful of hours into any game of this generation. I played Skyrim when it originally came out on the 360 and played almost 400 hours, joined every guild, did almost every side quest (before the DLC's came out though), and got maybe 3/4 of the way through the main story. But never finished it or any of the DLC's. That was 14 years ago in another life it seems. I decided to download Skyrim on PS5 about a week ago and I've put in 60 hours so far. I messed around with mods before I actually started a fresh vanilla playthrough. It's amazing how much content and support this game has received! After I beat the story and DLC's, I'll install mods for my next playthrough for sure. As I play through the vanilla version, I find myself hooked with all of the same feelings of wonder and awe that captivated me so long ago. I CANNOT put this game down. I love it. Like really love it. It made me realize it's my fav game of all time. It's the only game I've ever put this much time into after 14 years. I can tell the itch won't go away until I complete it with every DLC and I experiment with mods for another go. That being said, what other games have Skyrim lovers found that scratch the same itch?
@JVCIOM70 The first one or the sequel?
@ErrantRob I also reached the final boss in THE First Berserker, intending to get the platinum, but he was too hard. I wasn’t expecting him to have three phases either. I didn’t lower the difficulty in order to beat him so my progress is haltered and will probably remain that way for the long foreseeable future.
Since my kids are on 2 hour shifts with screen time, they've been alternating dominating the PS5 so I bought a Lenovo Legion Go last week. Still learning the ins and outs but it's an incredible device. Been playing South of Midnight since I couldn't play it before and am quite enjoying it. It's nothing earth shattering but it's unique and fun to play. Dove into Mafia a bit last night it feels more like an interactive movie than a game so far but I'm just scratching the surface. Other than that I'm slow at making progress in Wuchang, but I'm making progress. Really enjoying it as well but has some weird difficulty spikes. Happy gaming everyone.
@Steeleye50 It sounds like a PS Portal with PS Plus Premium would be a good fit for you. If I'm not mistaken, you should be able to stream a ton of games without having to connect it straight to your PS5, so your kids can play while you stream away on your portal.
Plan on continuing Wuchang this weekend, maybe finish the game.
@naruball I absolutely felt this way about Veilguard. I loved those characters, and watching that team grow into a family. Great game. I also felt that way after finishing the Mass Effect Trilogy and Witcher 3.
No gaming for me this weekend (family vacation at the beach!), but maybe I need to crack open the copy of Mass Effect Trilogy Remastered that has been sitting on my shelf for ages when I get home………
@Kraven Congrats for Ragebound Platinum trophy 👏🍻
I still have 7 more trophies to go
@armad11 I do have one, and sadly, you do have to connect. You can download games to play if you have the top tier PS Plus subscription, but you still have to sign in and use the PS5 to connect. My other issue is, it rarely plays well even though I have fast internet at my house (I work from home with only rare connectivity issues). It is constantly getting pixelated and disconnecting. I am not sure why I have those issues with the portal, because in my office I have an arcade machine with a PS4 connected to it. I can remotely play PS5 on that and rarely have issues. I have had no issues with the Lenovo so far, other than just having to tweak settings for certain games. Most everything on it plays perfectly though.
Despite that I do not really enjoy it, I play Diablo 4 lately (including this weekend).
Dear friend @Deadlyblack
I salute you from Mediterranean sea coasts....
@EK42 ooooh how is UT 2004 ? Still got a decent player base ? That game brings back memories !
@Steeleye50 I could have swore I read a couple months ago that you could now stream games with PS Plus Premium without connecting to your PS5. That's good to know. Regarding the streaming issues to your Portal, maybe it's your wifi encryption level. I doubt it's the same issue, but my stepson has an Xbox One, and I had WPA3 encryption enabled on my network. His download speeds were literal crap on my network. I had to encrypt with WPA2 only in order for his Xbox to download at max speeds. I couldn't even use the hybrid WPA2/WPA3, WPA2 only. I have a half gig fiber connection and his speeds matched that afterward. Really odd to me but whatever works I guess.
This week and weekend its all Wheel World and the Shinobi Art of Vengance demmo. I did finally get around to finishing Spider-Man. 2’s story. That was a really good game. But I’m very much enjoying tm these smaller experiences more. Have a great weekend!
Finally got around to finishing Dragon Age: The Veilguard which was brilliant. When they showed the original trailer that was made to look like a Hollywood heist movie I really had my doubts. However after playing it fully I would say it's probably my favourite game one the franchise. The gameplay is fun and story is high stakes with choices that matter, also the companions are all interesting with good storylines of their own. Would definitely recommend it to anyone on the fence about giving it a try.
Not sure what I will start next.
Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles (PSP) - I'm about 2/3 through the game but this multileveled sewer fight with this serpent is really throwing me for a loop right now.
Gears POP! (Android) - YT longplay.
Battleship (Windows Phone) - Now starting this. One of my all time favourite board games to play.
Been playing the Amazing Death Stranding 2, but then Ninja Gaiden Ragebound stole the lions share of my playing time. Truly an amazing and fun game, just have to beat hard mode to get the platinum and then it’s back to DS2 which improved on every aspect of the first game. Also sprinkle in a little DK Bananza on the side.
Finished Hogwarts platinum last night so now starting the utterly pointless new game plus trophies on Shadows. It’s a good job its a good game
@Zuljaras I have 4 PS1 copies of BS sott in my collection. My favourite game of all time mate. Every time I see a mint one on eBay I have to grab it lol
Ghost of Tsushima
@Anti-Matter Be mindful, what you typed there was a big spoiler!
Anyways, I'm back for more Fantasy Life i post-game tonight. Likely more Treasure Groves (on the hardest difficulty) via multiplayer, mainly for the purpose of levelling up my Mercenary/Paladin lives a bit more before eventually switching back to Hunter as my permanent combat life.
I’m tackling the AR augmented challenges in Arkham City. We shall see how the evening progresses 😅
@ilyn choices that matter!? Are you a gaslighting dev? Lol
@KingPev i just play solo, still love it after 20 years lol. There are several active communities for multiplayer. I just hope Epic make a new Unreal at some point.
Crypt Custodian, A really good indie game on game pass.
Still mopping up bananas in bonanza!
@Perturbator Thank you for sharing your experience of 9 Years of Shadows, I haven't started playing it yet, so it's nice to be forewarned about potentially troublesome boss battles.
Just recently, both Sammy and @playstation1995 have mentioned the Shinobi: Art of Vengeance demo to me, so if I hit a difficulty spike in 9 Years of Shadows, I'll check out the demo's playable level from the new Shinobi game.
I also like the contrast in your screenshots between the bright purple landscape in Minute of Islands, compared to the claustrophobic, sci-fi dread in your Observation image, Perturbator (above).
Enjoy Darksiders: Warmastered Edition, plus Gravity Rush Remastered and Immortals Fenyx Rising this weekend too, playstation1995.
Finally got the Death Stranding 2 platinum after a mad 330 hours. Loved it, probably my game of the year. That made up for loosing my 200 hour Blue Prince save to file corruption (apparently it’s bad to rage quit mid run). And what did I do, of course I restarted it straight away (I may have a problem).
Also played a bit of Demons Souls NG+ and I’ve gotten back in to Batman Arkham City (after accidentally playing Arkham Knight first for a few hours). And of course Hexen, so many memories from August ‘96, watching Fraiser on a boiling hot summer night while playing it.
Have a great weekend Folks!
Been having a blast with Flintlock Siege of Dawn and the BF6 beta!
@armad11, if you like Skyrim, the Oblivion Remake is a good bet, it was basically the Elder Scrolls game before Skyrim. I still wished they’d remake Morrowind which I loved. The remakes of the Gothic series might scratch that itch too, they’re a bit more low-rent, but I remember liking them back in the day and I’ll be interested to see how they turn out.
@DarianStarfrog they do matter. For one thing, your choice determines who lives and who dies. Also, if you pick a companion who’s not fit for a role you assign them, some don’t make it. In one case you can save only one town and its people. The companions treat you differently based on your choice. They also refuse to accompany you after choosing the other companion. Who’s gaslighting exactly?
I am deep into Hades and loving it. But that final boss is owning me currently. Will keep on with it though, as it really is one of those "Just one more run" type of games. Then also restarted Final Fantasy XII via my PS Portal. As I put it on hold when 16 released, then never picked it back up again. Just now have the sudden urge to jump back in. Happy Gaming All.
@Shepherd_Tallon Looooved CrossCode, the music is fantastic. I’ve been meaning to replay it for the last 5 years (Death Stranding 2 came along this summer, but hopefully next year!)
@Ristar24 Cheers, mate, I'm looking forward to 9 Years of Shadows, because it's nice to try out a game without knowing anything about it sometimes, a bit like finding a new coin-op back in the day.
It's good to hear you're having fun with the Gremlin Collection 2 on your Evercade.
I was too slow off the mark to buy the first Neo Geo Arcade cart, but I've got my eye on Evercade's upcoming Rare Collection 1 release.
I'll be excited to play a handheld version of Rare's 1994 arcade version of Battletoads in particular.
Cat quest and cat quest 2 I will play 2 with my GF
@armad11 Actually I looked it up and you are correct. You can stream if you have premium. I'll look into the encryption, thanks. Just strange that the PS5 remote plays fine on a PS4 but not that. Appreciate it, have a good one!
@JamieO It's partly why I like the Evercade, recently discovered the SNES RPG Dragon View there and what a great game. Just picked up Bitmap Brothers 2 today so will be playing some Amiga Gods. The Rare collection looks great, a Turrican or Last Ninja cart would be my most wanted.
@ilyn @Naruball @Westernwolf4 Seeing you all and others here speak positively about Veilguard has peaked my interest. Knowing that it comes from actual people who have actually played the game and not just Twitter engagement farmers makes me more trusting of your opinions.
I added the game to my library when it was on PS Plus just in case so I think I will play it. Probably not this year give my current Backlog and what I plan to buy later this year but I definitely am going to try it.
Thanks for your recommendations! 😃
@3Above I rated Veilguard as my GOTY. Loved it!
Silent Hill 2! It's pretty damn good.
Hexen, Heretic, and Metal Arms.
I also started Skies of Arcadia: Legends. I only ever finished the DC release, and I'm impressed by the amount of added content. It's a real gem.
I’ve finally gotten around to Silent Hill 2 Remake, so I’m a couple of hours in on that. I’m also continuing my love of Ninja Gaiden Ragebound, the best modern day SNES game there is!
@LikelySatan Metal Arms is one of my all time favorite games, it’s such an underrated gem. Where are you playing it? I still have my Xbox copy but it’s not backwards compatible and I don’t have an original Xbox any more.
@Odium I'm playing it on my Retroid, the GCN release. I've bought the game enough times to not feel bad emulating it. It holds up really well. A favorite game of mine as well.
@GemDog669 I love that game so much!
@DrVenture69 I'd had my eye on Crosscode for a while without really knowing much about it. Then the other day I read someone describing it as the spiritual successor to Alundra.
I bought it there and then.
I beat Lego Incredibles earlier this morning, so I'll be going back to Horizon Zero Dawn. Maybe. I got NFS Payback a few days ago and I've been having fun with it, so probably be playing that instead.
One day, Aloy. One day.
@3Above definitely it is it's a amazing game.japan studio is so good and make unique games. Word up son
@JamieO yeah shinobi art of vengeance is one of the best demo I ever play.its that good.and yes immortal Fenix rising.gravity rush remastered.and darksiders warmaster edition 😀 are all extremely fun.video games. Word up son
Still on DS2 tried the Outlaws demo but then got p*ssed with it as couldn't work out how to turn off the voice accessibility thing. Damn day drinking!
Platinum’d Flintlock and finally on to Ghost of Tsushima! Also, Elder Scrolls Online, naturally. I’ll quit this game one day. But not today… nor tomorrow!
@FinneasGH Doubly agree on Dragon Age: The Veilguard! Played it through twice! First, for the happy ending with my goodie 2 shoes character. Then the bad ending with my guy who’s as much of an a-hole as the game allows. Thinking about giving it another go ‘round. Were it not for certain elements that get people upset, it would’ve been received as well commercially as it was critically.
@naruball another Dragon Age: The Veilguard champion! Love it! If it weren’t for EA being EA it would’ve been more successful. They gave up far too quickly on the game!
And I understand how you feel about the characters. The story can move on a couple of ways and in none of the scenarios does everyone show up in the next game. I liked Neve, Harding, and Davrin the most. I also like Taash but I think they went a little too cliche with the character.
@DarianStarfrog @ilyn choices matter in Dragon Age: The Veilguard! My first playthrough, I made all the right choices and got the happiest ending where things worked out for the team. Second playthrough, I intentionally made the opposite choices of my first playthrough and everyone died in the end, including my character!
@AhmadSumadi yeah I made it to the end with one dead, saved my girl Harding because she was the love interest which meant one warrior at the end which certainly made it interesting when I had no taunt for the final battle as I needed Taash to guard our rear
I might pay again one day but it will be a while of as it's a big game
I'll continue playing Lies of P. It's really great game and can confirm it's the closest to Bloodborne as it gets. Also got platinum trophy in Astro's playroom - it's team work, I played it when I bought ps5, finished the game and i was done with it. but then my sons played it a lot and they got lot of trophies so it was tempting to grab few harder ones left. I'm no trophy hunter myself, but it feels great to get one. Now they play Astrobot so let's see how this turns out, but I'm sure this time it will be certainly much harder to platinum it.
Dissapointed LFC lost today, but that's sport, you can't always win everything.
Have a nice rest of a weekend and happy gaming, everyone!
Started Lies of P. So far, it's better than I expected.
@AhmadSumadi "Were it not for certain elements that get people upset"
It was the writing and characters for me. And the puzzles. And quests. Real looker though!
@Areus Ah, I am on the same journey, platted KH DDD earlier this year (i.e. I play a KH game each year, not back-to-back, to keep it fresh). I skipped the platinum on KH CoM and KH BBS because of some tedious trophies, as I am not a true trophy hunter (meaning that I will put in a little effort if its fun, but will not double or triple my playtime for grinding)
I played Romancelvania this weekend, fun combo of a metroidvania and dating sim. Discovered I am really into metroidvania's
been playing fornite with my wife and Dead Cells by myself i love all the Castlevania elements from the dlc...
@armad11 The original, bought for £5, to see if I want the sequel. I think I will when it's on sale, and I've finished the first game.
I played wife, kid and house keeping. 👍🏼
Lies of p on playstation plus also red dead redemption 2
