We're in the thrust of a heatwave here in the UK, so there's never been a better opportunity to shield yourself from the scorching sun and enjoy some good ol' video games. Here's what we're playing this weekend.
Issy van der Velde
For my multiplayer kicks I'm diving back into GTA Online and its Money Fronts update. When my friends aren't available I'm going to be trying to get into Mass Effect for the third time. Wish me luck!

June 16th was the 10th anniversary of my favourite ever E3 PlayStation conference, so I'll rewatch Push Square's 'PlayStation: E3 2015 Full Conference' on YouTube, and decide which of the dramatic three announcements I want to replay out of Final Fantasy VII Remake, Shenmue III, and The Last Guardian. Clambering up a giant creature's feathers and fur should scratch that E3 2015 itch. Tr-Ree-Koh!
Ken Talbot
In preparation for my trip back to the beach, I’m revisiting the directors cut of Death Stranding. Finishing off any unfinished side tasks and actually contributing towards the building of a bridge for the first time in my entire playthrough.
Liam Croft
With my work duties for a certain upcoming video game complete, I'm going to take a break this weekend and start Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.
Sammy Barker
Is it finally time to start Clair Obscur: Expedition 33?
That's what's keeping us busy this weekend, then, but as always we want to hear from you. What are you playing? What's keeping you busy at the moment? Let us know in the comments section below.

This weekend I will play and finish Chronicles of the Wolf! I got both the Switch 1 and the PS5 copies just to support the indie Castlevania fan Migami (Mig Perez).
On the site I have the great Castlevania Chronicles which in Arranged mode on easier difficulty is playable otherwise it is one of the hardest Castlevania games out there!
And in Resident Evil 4 Remake I am about to exit the Village area.
Happy gaming everyone!!!
Switch 2 Lego Horizon. Ps5 Pro Assassin's Creed Shadows. Series X Clair Obscur and Doom The Dark Ages. DS2 next week cant wait to jump in
Doom TAD for me.
Loving it. Just pure fun
I'm about halfway through Horizon Zero Dawn remake so probably continue with that and still playing AC Shadows. I'm also tempted to buy Dragon's Dogma 2 in the sale how's the performance on base PS5 now?
Bought Street Fighter 6 Years 1-2 Edition on my Switch 2 yesterday. Also still enjoying my replay of Yakuza 0 through Yakuza 0 Directors Cut. Besides that I’m still playing Mario Kart World online with friends.
Been thinking about starting Odin Sphere on my Ps5 though.
Replaying Zelda: BotW on Switch 2 and it's keeping me in this incredible zen state right now. Probably going to be replaying a couple of Astrobot stages too.
Bought Pirates Yakuza last week, and still going through Stella Blade. So those two mainly, with quick darts in and out of Monster Train 2. Really really tempted to get Wanderer 2 as well, but feel like I need to finish some of my existing VR games before I buy more.
I've decided enough is enough and I'm finally gonna try get all the Riddler stuff done in Knight 🙂...Other than that I'm,. doing a GTA run, whilst chipping away at Shadows, Veilguard, Oblivion and KCD2 🙂
Greetings, good people.
I finally managed to secure a Switch 2 for myself, but it will arrive only in two weeks, so for now I'm finishing some other stuff.
Lies of P: Overture (Steam Deck) Brilliant add-on for already great game, and I'm very glad I finished it before nerf. Gunblade is so satisfying.
Sleeping Dogs (PS5) A man who never played Sleeping Dogs is never a man full. Loved that game on PS3, bought PS4 version ages ago, but only managed to get to it now. Base game is as good as I remember it, but DLC... Well... It sucks, no two ways about it. Can't recommend it to anyone.
Crypt Custodian (Gamepass) Very charming and engaging metroidvania with topdown gameplay. Ending was a real tearjerker, made me go and hug my cat.
This weekend I'll probably return to AC Shadows, I bought it a month ago but what it managed to do was make me return to Rise of the Ronin and platinum it. That's it for now, have a nice weekend everyone.
Had a great time on Zombie Army Trilogy this week and will hopefully finish off the Sniper Elite playthrough over this weekend. All the hordes are done and will then just have a few collectibles and some miscellaneous trophies left to mop up. Big shout out to @CaptD who already has the platinum (popped around 6 years ago I might add) but has been down to pop zombie skulls all week!
Another great game by Rebellion and another one of their back-catalogue that they’ve patched for PS5, here’s to hoping Zombie Army 5 happens one day 🍻!
Been using my 3DS a lot lately. I am 40 hours in Shin Megami Tensei 4, and will start Bravely Default after i finish it.
I ended up downloading The Witcher 3 again. Just playing that while waiting for the early release of DS2.
Good luck getting into Mass Effect, Issy. Some people just don't jive with the first game, and that's OK. If you want to jump straight into Mass Effect 2, there's a Darkhorse Comics intro called Mass Effect: Genesis that allows you to make some major decisions from the first game. Narratively, it's not as impactful, but it's better than not ever experiencing Mass Effect 2 at all.
I am not sure what I'm playing this weekend. I'm going to wing it. I decided to give Metaphor another chance this week. Also randomly popped in Ghostwire: Tokyo that I haven't touched in a couple years and had some fun. I may mess around with that some more, Soul Hackers 2, Clair Obscure: Expedition 33, Resident Evil of some flavor, or maybe Octopath Traveler which is currently on sale on the PS Store.
On another random note, there was a reprint of Trails of Cold Steel I & 2 ESRB versions back in January. I grabbed them both off of eBay last night for $45 each. Really glad to have physical copies of them. The PEGI versions are out there for cheaper, but the saves I have with the digital versions would only be compatible with the ESRB versions. Let's hope a reprint of Zero and Azure is also in the future.
Have a great weekend, everybody!!
Dead Space and getting to the end of Another Crab's Treasure
After being very unsure, I caved and picked up Nightreign (using my Nectar points… go groceries paying for my games!) and gotta say… very pleasantly surprised! Actually having way more fun than I thought I would. I’m not really an online gamer, so was naturally a bit worried, but playing with randoms, although a little hit and miss has been fun!
That being said, I don’t know anyone that plays it, so if anyone does want some casual rounds please do let me know, I’m sure it’s easier to actually talk to people 😄.
Other than that, will be continuing to explore Into the Radius on PSVR2, and maybe even start the second Uncharted game. All while hiding away from that infernal heat here in the UK.
Have fun all!
@dalamar
Does sleeping dogs run ok on PS5?
Checking out just a bit of the Gears of War MP beta on PS5 and trying to wrap up the platinum/campaign for Robocop: Rogue City 🤘

Outside gaming, tomorrow i'm gonna watch 28 Years Later. I like the first movie but the second movie kinda eh. This third movie directed by David Boyle again and i heard it's really good. So yeah, gonna watch and support good movies.
Have a good weekend everyone 🍻
Today me,my wife,my brother and his wife are meeting a couple of close friends to have a few drinks in memory of our mother who passed away a little over a year ago. Seeing as my mum was never one to let people dwell over such matters and insisted we all carry on it will be very much business as usual so the rallying will continue and I'm quite enjoying fbc firebreak although I'm resisting the urge to dip in until my mate has downloaded it and I've just reinstalled helldivers 2. Have a brilliant weekend folks 👍
@Steame yes and no. It often crashes at the start when loading a game. But once it manages to start it runs flawlessly without any issues.
So, since last week 🙂
TES Oblivion - I’m really enjoying my revisit to Cyrodiil. Nostalgia plays a big part for me, I’ve had many trips down memory lane while playing which is bittersweet, some great memories but also a reminder of how quickly time flies (I’m saying I’m old). Anyway, back to the game: it looks great, plays like ***** and still has a lot of the original features left untouched but still, I’m going to play this for so many hours 🙂
FH 5 - Looks and plays great, but imo best enjoyed in short sessions and just keeping it relaxed.
The Alters - Gave it a fair try, but its not for me. I can see the appeal though, so maybe its just that I’m not in the mood for this kind of game right now.
How are people feeling about Switch 2 game key cards?
The Elder Scrolls Oblivion. I some how have never played it despite being a huge RPG guy. I'm liking it outside of the performance. There is zero reason for it not to run flawless on the PS5 Pro.
Bethesda is going to Bethesda always. 🤷♂️
I will be playing shin megami tensei v when I get back from a wedding.
Hopefully some Helldivers with the boys as well.
Disney Dreamlight Valley new update just dropped so I'm doing all the Peter Pan stuff. Also looking forward to next month when we get Aroura and Maleficent
Shadows of Doubt

Really good detective/investigation sandbox game set in a customizable, procedurally generated city. Investigating crime scenes, looking for fingerprints, putting together case boards, looking through security cam feeds and e-mails... as a lover of immersive sims, this game is doing all the right things.
Good evening.

This weekend I played Wii U games in the morning. 🤓
1. Animal Crossing Amiibo Festival
2. Wii Party U
This weekend the junine festivities of St. John happens here in the Northeast Region of Brazil, so a little less gaming for me these days. But when I can, I'm playing Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, the 3rd DLC of Borderlands 3, the challenging Blue Prince, and already started Yakuza 6, another great game from this amazing franchise.
A happy weekend, fellow gamers!!.
Due to the never ending humid British heat, I’m replaying Powerwash Simulator. I wish I could feel the jets like the random environments that I’m making clean.
@DonkeyFantasy Yeah not great. Considering getting Raidou Remastered Switch Version as its on the cartridge
Only one game matters to me right now and that's the brilliant Fantasy Life i.
Finally finished the story last night, but I'm far from done yet. My next main focus now is to spruce up my base camp even more before adventuring out with 3 more allies I recently befriended and maxing out their affinity stats (I've maxed out affinity with the other 15(?) already). Raising all 14 Lives to Hero rank can wait a bit.
Have a great weekend y'all, and stay safe!
Downloaded Witcher 3 again and I'm playing through Fallout 4 DLCs finished the quest for Far Harbour and I've just got to Nuka World. Don't really wanna start anything new with Death Stranding 2 so close.
Do some grinding in Fantasy Life to get more Lifes to max ranking and probably try my luck at soloing another Deep Dungeon in FFXIV after completing HoH solo a year ago.
Next week its finally DS2 time.
Doom TDA, just a pure adrenaline rush, love it. Also picked up Xenocrisis cheap so having some Smash TV'esque thrills with that. No Sanford and sons or saved by the bell here so im gonna go out in the sunshine for a while 😃🌞
Edit - Forgot to mention been playing Breakout Beyond again since its had an update that adds some nice gyroscope controls now, makes it a lot better 👍
Thought those mimes were okay till I saw one hopping towards me with hair like Chucky doll, had to flee and just went playing parkour at a beach - Clairrr Obscurrr. After 290hrs still in Act 3, BG3 is still NEVER getting old or overstaying its welcome, what a game.
Wilde wrote that punctuality was the thief of time.
...
I think that Balatro is the thief of time.
Oblivion or BG3... or nothing because the weather isn't really gaming weather. But I do want to RPG at some point, maybe Sunday evening if the golf isn't too exciting 😛
@sorteddan I started that recently too. It’s the thief of time, sleep and general life.
I’m going to try and break free from its grasp and finish off Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart and then go back to the other massive time sink in my life, Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous
After a few weeks gaming lull (my yearly "i really dont fancy playing anythin") i decided to upgrade to the switch OLED as opposed to being an early adopter of switch 2. Its got me gaming again. Metroid dread and Pokemon Arceus mainly.
While I wait for Death Stranding 2 I've been playing Jeane d ark and Ratchet and Clank Size Matters. But not much cuz it's just to hot to do anything.
Enjoy your weekend all.
Greetings fellow video game enthusiasts. I’m on holiday with some chums and we’ve been playing Bread and Fred, Towerfall, TOTK, Pro Evo 6, GTA Vice City, and Crash Bandicoot Warped. When I get home it’s straight back onto Another Crab’s Treasure. Have a great weekend, fellow video game enthusiasts.
My PS5 has taken a back seat to Switch 2 atm. Currently playing through Yakuza 0 Director's Cut with Mario Kart World on the side. It's actually nice to play games without trophies.
I’m on a Disney vacation with the family but I’ve been squeezing in a bit of Undertale when we are back at the hotel letting everyone rest. I also started Shadow Warrior on which is the perfect amount of stupid and fun.
Helldiving for Liberty.
Continuing to catch up on the PS4 library.
PS4 - Nioh. Really enjoying it, very addictive level exploration with perfectly fair bosses. A bit more than halfway through. Reminds me how little I care for story/cutscenes in games (Nioh is completely incomprehensible and I don’t care at all).
Waiting for Death Stranding 2 this week so I am considering The Alters. Other than that trying to work on Khazan though I think I’m giving up in favor on Ender’s Magnolia.
I may go back to Sinking City this week until DS releases.
Happy gaming weekend friends!
Powerwash simulator and Jedi survivor of the 5pro. Maybe some power shovel on duckstation.
Fantasy Life i still, so much content It might take a while to finish!
I fancy some arcade stick schumup goodness, so Im goiing to play Cygni which I picked up in the sale recently.
Im still replaying Forza Horizon 5 too, I never tire of these titles.
Whatever you are playing this weekend, I hope you have fun!
After completing the awesomely awesome Forspoken, I've moved on to Veilguard and Prince of Persia: Lost Crown
All brilliantly fun games.
Roadcraft. Currently at the sandstorm map.
Have a great weekend
Probably nothing its to hot , so I'll be in the garden drinking beer 😁
@ErrantRob I was loving the alters until they all killed me , its always the same with these resource management games for me , i really enjoy them up to the point, where I get overwhelmed by things to do, and everything goes to crap 😂
Faffing around with various games, mostly on switch 2
Hades 2 on deck oled. Finally reached the olympus summit.
MH WILDS on ps5. So excited for Lagiacrus update soon
Nearing the end of Resident Evil 4 Remake. Great game! After this I might finally play Bloodborne for the first time.
Hoping to finish Spyro and the anniversary remaster version of Sonic.
Progress a bit more further with AC2, Tunic, Cult of the Lamb, DD2, SMTV and SH2 Remake.
Hoping to finish Castle Crashers as the grey knight and get a bit more further with Beyond good and evil as well.
Build some more of my Lego set, read some manga, do some reorganising and tidying and sort my clothes etc out ready for my holiday on Wednesday
Don’t really have a lot of time to game this weekend but what time I do have I’ll be playing Lies Of P as I picked up the game and DLC in a bundle sale last week. THOROUGHLY enjoying it so far! Can’t believe it’s taken me this long to get around to playing it as I really like Soulslikes and this is one of the better ones for sure. It’s also incredibly hard even on one of the lower difficulty settings. Anyways, hope everyone has a great time with whatever they’re playing!
I’m still questing, exploring caves, tackling dungeons, killing trolls, and making my way to the platinum trophy in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Hopefully, I’ll have it wrapped up in time for Death Stranding 2, but I doubt it, and that’s okay because I love this world of Cyrodiil.
Back at it with Stellar Blade. Will throw in Monster Hunter Wilds, Capcom Fighting Collection 2, and Fatal Fury COTW.
I'm actually playing Mass Effect Andromeda for the first time, having played the original trilogy many times over.
So far it's ok, not brilliant. I can't imagine it improves much tbh.
Flying around beating up dragon ball enemies with my friend in Xenoverse 2
And the nioh 3 beta left me wanting more so bad I got the complete edition of 2. Hoping to experience the dlc for it which I've never played
So funny to see The Last Guardian pop up, because I thought about going for the platinum this week, using a walkthrough for the collectibles. I spent about a half hour trying to get that animal to move near the fifth barrel I needed and deleted the game.
I really loved that game but wow, it’s frustrating.
The last guardian PS4 on PS5 is amazing. I've never finished this game but I will definitely give it another go.
I have so many games, I do not know where to begin. I started the most recent Doom and it feels like a PS4 game.
I've restarted Stellar Blade, and it's entertaining enough to have caught my attention again. I'm 65% completed according to PS.
I have such a backlog. Plus I'm on vacation and my AirBnB has tmobile for internet and that ***** is horrid so I cannot play my Portal.
It's very important when you go on vacation to make sure you have great internet connection.
@KidRisky It takes a minute to get the concept. Every time I go back to play it, I'm like wow, I did not know I can do this.
It's a great game and I can understand your frustrations.
@Dalamar I've been meaning to get back to Sleeping Dog. It such a great game. Damn my backlog to hell!!
No idea. Probably Mario Kart, but honestly… it feels like i don’t have anything I want to play right now. I’d like to play some Switch 2, but I don’t have anything new to play, so… I dunno if I’ll play anything. I’m caught up on the backlog again.
I’ll have Death Stranding 2 on Monday.
Stellar blade at the minute I'm really enjoying it except the map though thats a pain and im playing on silent hill 2 as well that's great have a great weekend all
Valhalla. I think it might be a case of "locality bias," if you like. But I love the locations in the game. Wandering my hometown and stumbling over familiar places is always really surreal. Valhalla is also the best realisation of these places that I've yet seen in a game.
That being said, not including Lindisfarne in a viking game is a crime.
@Tsushima ye they are useless and no one wants them
Mainly carrying on with Fantasy Life i and The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy, though I did also finish off Wario Land 3 earlier.
Between the PS5 crashing every couple of hours (we think it's the stinking heat) and me picking up an amazing new car this morning, gaming will be limited this weekend - but I'll be back in Dragon Age: The Veilguard at some point and The Alters looks so tempting!
Galactic Attack
I am going to be honest with y’all: I needed something lighter after Expedition 33. It is a brilliant game, but it is relentlessly grim, and that ending really sticks with you. Plus some of the bosses were punishing, even on normal.
So I am playing Sand Land based on the anime. You drive around blasting things in the vehicles you build while clearing the fog of the map and collecting everything in sight. Combat is pretty laid back even on hard, the vehicles are cool, and the characters are a fun hang. And the art style is fantastic.
Not a GOTY contender, but I am having a really good time. Sometimes the right game just comes along at the right time!
Trying to finish up yakuza like a dragon. Im near the end maybe but need to earn 3 million yen to proceed. It might take awhile
Army of Two: The 40th Day (PSP) - Nearing the end of this wild ride.
Gun Bros (Windows Phone) - Haven't played in a week. Need to get back into it.
Gears POP! (Android) - Trying to get this jailbroken version to run. If all else fails, I'll just watch some YT vids on it.
Well, this weekend I am up against the magnates of gaming. The ayatollahs of gaming taste. I am defiantly playing PSVR2 and there's nothing Pushsquare can do about I.... geeeerh
Unknown 9: Awakening
I know this was a massive failure and got review bombed online, but after a few hours I've been enjoying it so far.
It doesn't take long to get used to the 30 FPS, and I'm not sure why some people had such an issue with the game kind of feeling like a PS3 game. That generation had some of the best times, so I'm fine with that.
I finished up a replay of Animal Well, even though ive got the platinum (its that good). I watched a YT from FuryForged about the secret ending and it was just insane. I have no idea how human beings deciphered what you have to do, just an unbeleivable level of obscurity and difficulty. Im just happy to watch it rather than do it.
I also went a bit retro and played The Chaos Engine and Populous, both of which still stand up. The remake of Gods is another great Bitmap Brothers game if you were into them back in the day. It looks like Rebellion (Atomfall) aquired their IP in 2019, so fingers crossed for some remakes (I’d love a remake of Cadaver, such a fantastic little 3D adventure from 1990).
As ever, im still playing The Blue Prince, which i think ill probably doing forever now!
Have a great weekend Folks!
@EfYI Good for you! Me too. Id be happy just playing GT7 forever!
Continue playing Stellar Blade on PC. Really cool to see all of the updates and DLC on PC cause I beat the game on launch on PS5 last year.
I'm just a few hours of gameplay away from the Platinum trophy for Unicorn Overlord! Will our hero actually GET those few hours to play this weekend?
Tune in next week for another exciting episode of As the Dualsense Rumbles.
P.S.: Have great weekend everyone!
@Perturbator I bought that and just couldn’t get into it because of the terrible performance (even on pro). Shame really, because there’s a good game under the poor optimisation.
Shouting at dragons in Skyrim.
@Kiefer-Sutherland Yeah its a very demanding game, even on my RTX4080 Pc the fps will go as low as 50-60 fps at times.
Still chipping away at PoP! Maybe I'll figure out how to beat the Franks in Bomb Rush as well. I'm not great at controlling those sorts of games.
Finished crysis 3 remastered platinum this morning (man that game is bad). About to start Dragons Dogma 2, any tips for me are welcome as it’s my first time playing the games
A little frustrated I was working through Lies of P again and finally got to the end of chapter 9 ready to start the DLC. Then, nothing. No pop up, deleted and installed the game 3 times, still nothing. Went online and emailed Geowiz last week. No response. Found a forum where someone stated that any outside region would not work. I bought it off Amazon in the US, but looked at the box and sure enough, it's from the UK. I thought about asking for a refund, but love the game so much I had some PS reward money and bought it again digitally on sale. Since I only paid half the first time around, it's like I bought it new. Started it up hoping to get into the DLC, nope, I have to beat the game again to access it. Sigh. So this weekend will be mostly doing that and getting destroyed solo in Nightreign. I'll get better eventually. Happy gaming everyone.
I just can't get enough of Assassin's Creed: Shadows.
Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess on Switch 2 and Forza on PS5 for me this weekend. Good times!
@lazarus11 I love already the idea of a mutiny of your own self against you lol. That would irritate me, but I imagine you can go back to a save state?
@rusty82 I have been drinking it in at a really slow clip. I love Doom soooooooo much and it's going to be a while. Thank God for Nightdive, they'll keep me busy enough.
@LikelySatan yeah I'm not rushing it either.
Love exploring looking for secrets.
The game rewards you constantly and you keep getting new weapon's and runes etc at a good pace.
I wasn't a big fan of eternal but this has been superb
@IntrepidWombat Ive always been surprised at this sentiment. The streamlining of the ME series was paaaaainful to me. ME 2 and 3 (but mostly 2) are incredible games. The first just had this incredibly alien mood that I got way into. I keep forgetting that Legendary is available and runs at 60...
@rusty82 I adore Eternal, but I don't return to it often. It is one of the most fun games for me, in terms of feel, but it just won't stop being sweaty. I will play 2016, 64, and OG Doom 1+2 (those almost daily) until I'm dead. Eternal is if I feel like challenging myself. So that one just every year or so.
I think TDA is the best realization of Hugo Martin's "He-Man Doom." But I don't know. I'll need to finish it and play it about a million more hours.
Still on Lost & Bloom, Jedi Survivor but with the heat and vino in full flow can barely master the puzzles in the former or the fighting in the latter. Actually made it through the intro of Veilguard too.
I decided to play farcry 5
Gonna start AI Limit. I loved Code Vein, and this reminds me of it.
Bouncing between Horizon Zero Dawn and Like A Dragon Ishin!. Both are first playthrough, and I'm enjoying them so far. Slept on HZD for so long due to not being a big fan of bow and arrow, but it's been my primary weapon choice. Keep forgetting Aloy even had a spear.
great weather, maybe a bit hot, and I did not play much, but a bit of tetris effect on psvr2 (the platform claimed dead before it even was released, but alive enough that it is worthwhile to publish an article every now and then that it is dead). I was actually really surprised by tetris effect. I played the demo some time ago and did not really enjoy it and also did not think that VR added much. But, I took the plunge when it was on sale and now I am really loving it. Some levels are better than rez I would dare to say.
Elden Ring
Nioh 2
Nier: Automata
Diablo 2 Resurrected
Did a bit more on DA: The Veilguard and a bit of farming on Diablo 4.
Not as much gaming as I planned as I started watching Justified the other week so that took up a few more hours than planned.
Completed the story campaign of Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance HD and did a few optional revisits of bosses and played some Flick Rush, and started Warhammer 40K: Boltgun, which is really, really simple fun
