Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 390

DeepSpace5D

What’s going on guys I finally wrapped up the platinum for Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. I thought it was a great Ratchet & Clank entry, but I have to be honest I hard a really hard time getting into it after coming directly from the exhilarating Returnal.

Now I’ve finally started the incredible Demon’s Souls remake on PS5 and I’m impressed how good of a job Bluepoint Games have done here. I haven’t played the PS3 version since 2012 but it’s just like how I remembered it in my head rather than how it actually looks on PS3 hardware if you know what I mean.

A very beautiful game and many small quality-of-life improvements done by Bluepoint make it less frustrating than before without turning down the difficulty. Even though Bloodborne has more fast-paced action in general, Demon’s Souls remake has vastly superior load times and plays at 60fps which honestly makes it feel just as fast as Bloodborne to me. Especially because I’m going for a light armor build with the Blueblood Sword!

Happy gaming everyone.

Re: Abandoned App Patch Drops, Trailer Is the Same as Twitter Tease

DeepSpace5D

@Korgon Bluebox’s specific wording on Twitter I believe was something like “PC players will rejoice”.

But then I’ve seen them advertise Abandoned as only on PS5.

But either way, even if it’s coming to PC it’s at least console exclusive and one would think Sony must be interested in it if they have locked up some form of exclusivity for it.

And I just can’t believe for a second that they would agree to a deal without seeing the product, especially if it was from a supposed no-name developer who never put out anything good in the past.

Re: PS5's Abandoned Trailer Isn't Delayed, Says Dev, It's Just Releasing Later

DeepSpace5D

@Bleachedsmiles I really can’t think of other games on the PS Store that had their own app. I’ve seen games that release a demo, but a downloadable app made for viewing trailers is a strange one to me.

It could be a marketing con, I’m just struggling to see the end goal from Hasan if that were the case. If it’s some rinky-dink indie game of poor quality, would Hasan really think his empty promises and fake hype would still get purchases after showing a crappy finished product?

I would also expect Sony to vet this guy pretty thoroughly before giving him such a platform. Surely they would have to see how the game is coming along themselves before featuring it on Youtube and putting this downloadable app on the PS Store right? One would hope anyway.

Re: Sony Completes Acquisition of Anime Giant Crunchyroll

DeepSpace5D

@AdamNovice Ya it makes too much sense in my opinion. Additional anime and manga content like you said, and then they would have Fromsoft, which would obviously be huge on its own for gaming.

Sony already showed an interest in investing in them with the small 2% stake, and at the same time they announced some type of partnership I believe.

I can see them increasing their shares but you never know. With Sony sometimes the obvious isn’t always what they personally have in mind for their plans.

Re: Human-Munching Horror Game Carrion Squirms onto PS4 This Year

DeepSpace5D

@__jamiie Nice try with the strawman there. Never did I claim they deserve to go bankrupt, that’s all you. I’m simply communicating with my wallet that if you want my purchase then launch day 1 on the platform that I use. There’s no animosity in me towards this company or any other, and I will never run out of other games to play.

There’s nothing wrong with voting with your wallet as a consumer.

Re: Unbelievably, the Abandoned App Pre-Load Really Is Live on PS5

DeepSpace5D

There sure are a ton of language options for such a small indie team. I’ve watched the video of someone start up the pre-load and clearly a ton of localization work has been put in with all the language choices.

@nessisonett Hasan denied it on Twitter that it was that asset of a man with an eyepatch. He said it’s their original artwork and anyone with an eyepatch will look similar to it with such a blurry photo. So more questions than answers once again which is the norm at this point.

Re: Soapbox: Why I'm Less Excited for Deathloop on PS5 Than I Should Be

DeepSpace5D

The 70’s vibe never appealed to me for Deathloop. The dialog I’ve heard has been cheesy to me personally. Those were my feelings from the beginning before any acquisition took place. The gunplay does look solid though.

I agree we have been shown more than enough of this game already and a further 9 minutes of it in the next SoP feels like too much already.

Also, while we can assume a sequel would be exclusive to Xbox/PC, I don’t think it’s a guarantee that Deathloop will even receive a sequel. It will likely depend on how Deathloop does commercially and also whether Arkane has envisioned a sequel for this game or not.

Re: Reaction: It's Time to Accept We Can't Predict PlayStation Anymore

DeepSpace5D

Not everything needs to be predicted first. And since when has Sony really been predictable about anything they haven’t announced beforehand? Predictable is boring and these “insiders” with their leaks are just like the people who try to spoil the ending of a movie for you before you’ve watched it.

Re: Sony Acquires Dutch Developer Nixxes to Beef Up First-Party Tech Support

DeepSpace5D

The people who are saying this is just about porting Playstation games to PC can’t see the forest for the trees. A team at Guerrilla Games had to spend months porting Horizon: Zero Dawn to PC.

You give Nixxes the task now for porting older PS4 games to PC, now that team can be free to work on PS5 exclusives and release them faster. Nixxes will free up other Playstation Studios which will in turn improve output for console players. Everybody wins.

Re: Sony Under Heavy Fire for Handling of Indies on PS Store

DeepSpace5D

“I have no idea how to succeed on this platform”

Here’s an idea, put out a compelling game and people will play it. It’s really that simple. I glanced at Neon Doctrine’s output and I’m not surprised their games don’t sell well on Playstation. Playstation sells more software than any of their rivals so your game needs to stand out. If the quality is there, people will buy it.
