You demanded it, and here it finally is: Crimson Desert running on a base PS5.

Footage comes from PlayStation Japan in its Play! Play! Play! format, so you will have to put up with a lot of talking and on-screen graphics of Japanese text. However, there is still close to 20 minutes of base PS5 gameplay footage to view.

What's fairly clear from the busy video clips is there's a noticeable drop in visual quality compared to what's been shown off so far, but then everything we've seen up until now has been taken from the PS5 Pro and high-end PCs. It seems like a perfectly acceptable version of the game, with no obvious technical faults or frame-rate drops in sight.

It'll still be worth waiting for expert technical analysis, though, to get a full picture of how Crimson Desert runs on base PS5. The game releases on 19th March 2026, so we'll know a lot more in just a couple of days. To learn all the Crimson Desert release times, click the link.
