Here Is Crimson Desert Gameplay on Base PS5

Well, about freaking time.

Don't know how I feel about it to be honest.

And my pre-order can now officially go on! Gameplay wise I’m not concerned, a lot of trusted folks have heavily hinted the game is quite special (if a tad overwhelming), the only thing that was holding me back was performance. First proper open world game I’ve looked forward to since Elden Ring! Let’s hope it delivers 🙏

I don’t know why people were concerned in the first place. The Koreans know what they are doing

A 1080p30 video is not very telling, unfortunately. This game has still a big question mark on it for me.

@Clytorial_Impact I know this might come as a shock, but after Cyberpunk 2077 a lot of us gamers are FAR less trusting and FAR more suspicious when a dev refuses to show their game running on the current PS console. And when they act indignant that people would want such a thing, it makes said gamers very suspicious.

I'm cautiously optimistic. I'm not big on day one playing. If it's fun to play and it's in a good state, maybe I'll buy it few months down the road.

@dskatter Are we? All I see is hype for Crimson Dessert, there doesn't appear to be too much caution and skepticism as far as I can tell. The comparisons to Skyrim and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt are laughable to me, and people keep on going on about how big everything is. Size doesn't matter if the game sucks and runs like crud. Imagine if everything was as it is but it ran at 30fps-many gamers would be immediately turned off. Current expectations are soaring and when expectations are soaring they can only come crashing down if promises aren't delivered. We've seen this numerous times but the hype doesn't alter because we always believe what we're shown, even if it isn't genuine. Remember No Man's Sky and how amazing we thought it was, then it came out and it was a mess? I don't think we want that again or we'll be wanting our money back.

Why did they kick up such a fuss around not showing base PS5, it looks fine!
You'd expect a graphical drop-off, so if they'd just said plainly "it runs fine, please note it won't be as pretty" everyone would understand.

I am still going to wait for reviews, Cyberpunk, BG3 and others all had a noticeable drop in quality later into the game - something hopefully reviews will identify.

I didnt see anything that looks like it wouldn’t be able to run on a “base” ps5 in the video. The technicality of the game looks as advanced as any game from a decade ago

@dskatter @dskatter maybe you (those gamers) need to let it go. It has been 5,5 years. Dont you think it is already too long for Cyberpunk to be dragged as example?

I know its not to everyone's taste but the level of detail goes down to what day it is and the weather the weather for God's sake my honest opinion is this is going to knock all other games out of the park.

I'm canceling my preorder after taking a good look at the foliage and puddles.

This might be the most interesting bit of info I’ve seen on the game. Can’t tell how performance is from this vid (watching on phone), but it seems quite decent.

That part they showed in the sky was definitely Tears of the Kingdom inspired.

@JDINCINERATOR you must not have looked much then. There’s TONS of hate going around for Crimson Desert and constant moving of goalposts. It is going FAR beyond simple scepticism. It’s mainly exhausting behaviour by miserable gamers that want this to fail.
