Re: Site News: Where's Our Days Gone Remastered PS5 Review?

DTfearTheBEARD

@dschons I appreciate the information. However, I've been using my Steam Deck OLED to force any and every game to use gyro on my PS5 Pro. Depending on the game, it can work pretty well 😏

Actually, I just went back and played the PS4 version of Days Gone a few weeks ago to finish up the last few trophies I was missing for the platinum. I'll probably just transfer my save over to the PS5 version for another platinum since I'm not in the mood to play the game again anytime soon.

Re: Looks Like Resident Evil 5 Is Getting a PS5 Port Too

DTfearTheBEARD

@NeonPizza I agree with gyro being poorly implemented with the PS5 versions of RE4 Remake and RE Village, but it's better than no gyro at all. I think Capcom did a decent job with gyro support for RE Revelations 1 & 2 for Switch.

I can't speak on VR since I've not tried it. I'd assume the motion controls are on another level compared to standard controllers.

I doubt it, but maybe Nintendo will bring back the sensor bar for Switch 2...

Re: Looks Like Resident Evil 5 Is Getting a PS5 Port Too

DTfearTheBEARD

Give me 4K with 120fps and gyro aiming, please. Also, physical copies of RE 5 & 6 for PS5. I'll gladly buy again if so.

At the moment, I prefer to play these games on my Steam Deck OLED, 90fps in handheld mode and 120fps while docked to my TV with gyro is so much more enjoyable!

Re: Following Space Marine 2 Success, Games Workshop Seeks Next Big Warhammer Hit

DTfearTheBEARD

I've played a bit of Space Marine 2 on my PS5 Pro, and it's very impressive so far. But I wanted to play Space Marine 1 first before I continued the second, so I went with the Steam version to play on my Steam Deck OLED and it's so much fun.

The series gives me Gears of War 1-3 vibes. I can't believe I never heard of it until recently. I'm now a fan and looking forward to any new releases in the future.

Re: Alan Wake 2's Latest Update Tackles PS5 Pro Problems, Includes Toggle for PSSR

DTfearTheBEARD

@Chibbie Yeah, I was mostly finished with AW2 as well. I still have the DLC to go through, though.

Unfortunately for me, most of the Pro enhanced games I've already finished and Platinumed (TLOU 1 & 2, God of War, Spider-Man, Horizon Forbidden West, etc.) But it's nice to go back and see the improvements, plus it will be an even more enjoyable experience playing through those games again in a few years time.

Re: Alan Wake 2's Latest Update Tackles PS5 Pro Problems, Includes Toggle for PSSR

DTfearTheBEARD

I went back and finished AW2 along with getting the Platinum yesterday and balanced mode with PSSR on all the way! Smooth 40fps with ray tracing on looked and played so well!

After that, I went back to Hogwarts Legacy and tried the quality mode with Ray tracing, but I couldn't deal with the 30fps, unfortunately. So it's uncapped HFR mode with that game for me. I wish more developers would give us a 40fps mode with Ray tracing on instead of 30fps.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 558

DTfearTheBEARD

I'm currently going through some of my backlog PS5 games on the base system, starting with Soul Hackers 2, mostly playing it on the Portal.

I'll probably go back to Hogwarts Legacy to check out the update and get the Platinum on PS5 Pro.

Nothing much on Switch, Series X, or Steam Deck OLED at the moment

Have a great weekend, everyone. And happy gaming!

Re: Video: 10 Games You Need to Play on PS5 Pro

DTfearTheBEARD

I've had my PS5 Pro for about a week now, with disc drive of course.

Unfortunately, I have already Platinumed most of the Pro enhanced games I own, but I did test some games out to see how they look on the Pro and i must say Spider-Man Remastered, Stellar Blade, & RE4 Remake have impressed me the most so far!

I'm glad I waited for Rebirth to go on sale and my first experience will be playing it on the Pro.

Other non Pro enhanced & PS4 games I'll continue playing on my base PS5 for now.

Re: The Callisto Protocol Haunts in 8K with Huge PS5 Pro Patch

DTfearTheBEARD

Decent game that I enjoyed enough to Platinum. It already looked amazing on Series X and base PS5. Unfortunately, Dead Space and RE 4 Remakes came out a few months later and completely overshadowed Callisto. But that's besides the point. I am looking forward to checking out the update when I pick up a PS5 Pro soon.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 550

DTfearTheBEARD

@DETfaninATL I've been putting off AW2 for almost a year now. I was going to wait and play in on PS5 Pro, but with the second DLC releasing this month, I figured I'd start playing it now.

Still Wakes The Deep will probably be next since it's a short game and looks like a 7 hour Platinum.

But I also just remembered i have Fatal Frame Mask of the Lunar Eclipse in the backlog as well. Decisions decisions.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 550

DTfearTheBEARD

After getting the Platinum for Silent Hill 2 yesterday, Absolutely amazing remake, great job Bloober Team! I'm debating on what to start playing next to keep spooky season going with horror games.

It's a choice between Alone in the Dark or Still wakes the Deep.

Other then that I'm slowly progressing through Dying Light (Steam Deck OLED) co-op with a friend when we both have the time to do so.

Have a great weekend, and happy gaming, everyone!

Re: 10 Major PS5, PS4 Games Are Getting Axed from PS Plus Extra, Including LittleBigPlanet 3

DTfearTheBEARD

It may sound strange, but I kinda like the time limit these subscriptions give us to finish games. I've been putting off Gotham Knights for so long, and now that I have a month to beat it, I have to lock in and get it done. Good timing, too, since I recently played through all 4 Arkham games on my Steam Deck OLED.

For those who haven't played them yet, i suggest Dragon Quest 11 & The Evil Within. I own those on disc, though, so no loss for me.

Re: PS5 Gets a Staggering, Officially Licensed 8TB SSD

DTfearTheBEARD

I need an 8TB SSD for my PS5, but not at that price.

My 4TB WD Black SSD has been full for a while, but I prepared for it and bought a 5TB HDD to store the PS5 games I've platinumed. I hate having to delete and reinstall games. It will have to do for the next few years until this has a significant price drop.

Re: PS5's Lack of Tentpole Exclusives Isn't Hurting Engagement, Says Sony

DTfearTheBEARD

After getting the Platinum in Stellar Blade, I haven't been playing my PS5 as much besides picking up Persona 3 Reload on sale a few weeks ago (65 hours in) but with my backlog and PS Plus Premium I always have games to play so it's not that big of a deal.

I do hope next year makes up for the lack of exclusives we've had so far this year.

Steam Deck OLED, on the other hand, I play daily.

Re: Astro Bot PS5 DualSense Controller Pre-Orders Are Now Live

DTfearTheBEARD

@HonestHick Thank you, but unfortunately the only special edition Dualsense controller I have is the God of War Ragnarok. All the other controllers are just standard White (2), black, purple, red, pink, & Dualsense Edge.

Lucky you. I really wanted that gray PS4 controller.

I did pick up the 20th anniversary Xbox, Gears 5, and Starfield controllers. Plus the Starfield headset.

Re: Astro Bot PS5 DualSense Controller Pre-Orders Are Now Live

DTfearTheBEARD

@Czar_Khastik To be honest, I never thought I'd spend $200 on a controller. I don't play competitive games online. The same as you, I mostly play single-player games. It all started when I saw an Xbox Series Elite 2 controller on sale for $130, so I decided to buy it and fell in love with the premium feel and back buttons. Same with the Dualsense Edge.

Now it sucks going back to standard Xbox, Playstation, Switch controllers without back buttons.

The battery life isn't great on the Dualsense Edge, But neither is the standard Dualsense, so it's not too big of a deal.

I'm sure the Dualsense Edge has many other features that I don't use haha, But it works great for the things I do use it for.

Plus my original white Dualsense controllers are starting to drift after almost 4 years. So it's nice that you can replace the thumbstick module on the Edge if that problem ever occurs...

Re: Astro Bot PS5 DualSense Controller Pre-Orders Are Now Live

DTfearTheBEARD

It's a nice looking controller but if I bought one it would just sit on the shelf next to my God of War and 6 other Dualsense controllers I don't use because the Dualsense Edge is my go to for PS5.

If it were a Dualsense Edge, I'd buy one no questions asked, but since it's a standard controller. I'll have to pass...

Re: Aim Your Blaster with the PS5 Controller's Gyro in Star Wars Outlaws

DTfearTheBEARD

Gyro aiming should be a standard at this point.

If devs don't want to include it as optional in their games. Then, Sony should allow us to activate it at a system level on a per game basis.

I use gyro all the time with a Dualsense & Dualshock 4 while using my Steam Deck OLED docked, and it's amazing! I also use the touch pad as a mouse.

Why is it that Valve allows users to take better advantage of controller features than Sony? With their own systems (PS4 & PS5)
