Konami has confirmed Silent Hill F has already sold over one million copies, meaning it's doing considerably better than last year's PS5 remake of Silent Hill 2.
The excellent Bloober Team title managed to surpass one million units within a week, but Silent Hill F is now "growing in shipments at an even faster pace in each region, including Japan", according to the publisher. It's blown past one million units after just a single day of full availability.
The last sales update for Silent Hill 2 had it at two million copies purchased in January 2025, after three months on the market. On its current trajectory, it appears Silent Hill F will very comfortably surpass the remake.

Of course, the platform availability of the two releases is playing some part here: Silent Hill 2 is only out on PS5 and PC, while Silent Hill F is a full multi-platform title.
A press release quite proudly added: "This achievement reinforces the series’ status as an iconic horror franchise that continues to resonate with fans yearning for an unsettling psychological horror experience." As for what's next from the survival horror series, Silent Hill: Townfall is the last remaining title from the first slate of announced games from back in 2022.
In our Silent Hill F PS5 review, we awarded a 7/10 rating and said: "It’s quite different, and hardcore fans will have to accept that. Combat is a heavy focus, and the move to Japan means there’s a different kind of tone and atmosphere in the air. Technical problems aside, it marks a bold new chapter in the Silent Hill saga. Accept it for what it is, and you’ll find one of PS5’s most intense experiences."

Well deserved!!! just remember SH2R was just on PS5 and PC, it's so nice to see Silent Hill popping off the last couple of years. Roll on SH1R and Townfall.
Edit: I also have a screen shot from that scene, think that says alot about us 😅
Congrats to Konami & Neobard.
Some popular vtubers are playing this game so i guess they boost the game popularity in Japan.
Nice. Great game so hopefully it continues to sell well.
I'm glad it's boosting the SH franchise anew but for me personally it didn't really hit that well. Only 11 hours on my first playthrough, and I like to check every inch of the map! Not worth $70 IMO.
Good for them, although the higher than average price in Brazil (400 reais instead of 350 on PS5. On Xbox and PC the price is 350 reais) will force me to skip this game for a long time. Won't be buying this game until it's at least 200 reais. Didn't read the review here, i never do, since i pretty much always disagree with every review this website has, so I'm pretty sure this game will be quite fun and a strong 9/10 for me (whenever i buy it)
@illegalmonkey The game has very good replayability, keep that in mind.
@illegalmonkey 11 hours sounds like average playing time for a survival horror game. I've played that has shorter playing time. But you'll get more playing hours since this game has different endings.
It's a fascinating game. Maybe the strangest piece of psychological horror I've played since Returnal.
This shouldn't be a surprise considering the writer is Ryukishi07, but they put a ton of effort into making the new game plus playthroughs unique and essential to the full experience.
@illegalmonkey as someone that doesn't really like horror games has this game got jump scares in it? As I say, I don't really like horror games or the way they make me feel (I understand thats the point) but jump scares just seal the deal for me.
@Kidfunkadelic83 nah the horror and fear you see coming, its almost worse actually🤣
@Kidfunkadelic83 Jump scares only as in, an enemy or two that can drop down or pop out at you unexpectedly. SH2 had it worse with those leggy ones that could ball up real tight in small spots, but if that's the kind of jump scare you're worried about that's really all there is in SHf.
@PuppetMaster I'm not really interested in rehashing the same thing 4 more times though. I am very against that kind of development where they just force you to reply the same game, with minor changes. It is some of the laziest crap ever. Maybe I'd have more incentive if I unlocked an awesome unbreakable weapon or something but I feel like we are starting to see these kind of games get away from that(Cronos had almost nothing for unlockables).
@Uromastryx I don't even know why i bother to show interest in horror games 🤣 I bought SH2 remake and only made through the town until I bottled it 🤣
@illegalmonkey replying and getting different endings does give you what your asking,.2 in fact im just not gonna say what type, Google it if you want, but you do get some fun rewards to play with
@illegalmonkey Well this is just me. But if i bought a new game either full price or not then i feel i have the obligation to replay it just to check every nook and cranny what the game offers, even if i end up didn't like them. I don't mind to replay multiple times to get different endings, unlockables, easter egg, secret route etc. I want to know all of them before i put the game on the shelf. That way i can give my full verdict without leaving any misunderstanding about the game.
As for unlockables, the devs said there's NG+ so i'm sure there's some unlockables.
I am currently playing it and I'm not sure what I think yet. I don't think I like the combat. I loved SH2 and plant replay it using only the chainsaw.
@illegalmonkey ending is not the only thing that changes on subsequent playthough. First run is actually only a part of the story, and second is more different than exactly the same game, but use the stone in five places.
No doubt launch sales have a lot to do with the quality of the SH2 remake but the success is well deserved based on the nine hours I’ve spent playing F.
Loving it so far and only 30% in. Had to cheat on the puzzle box though, they should allow you to change difficulties during the game.
Love to see it! Great game!
I know playing through the same game multiple times to understand the full story might not be for some. But I'm enjoying it. And I'm currently on my second playthrough.
I want to see all the endings and unlockables this game has to offer. Plus, I need that Platinum trophy.
Cool.we need more horror games.it seems Konami is back.now we need a castlevania game.word up son
Trying to avoid spoilers as much as possible, but I am loving the game so far. I actually like the combat, I think getting the counter right is annoying some. I'm just glad to see the franchise back on consoles as well, and looking forward to the next Remake and Townfall.
@DTfearTheBEARD I have just got ending 3 and honestly they are just getting better and better, that platinum will soon be ours!
@Oram77 Nice!
Have you played Cronos? I'm looking forward to playing that after I'm finished with SH f.
Honestly, I forgot about Townfall. Do you know whose working on that one?
I'm hyped for SH1 Remake!
@DTfearTheBEARD I have played Cronos and LOVED it, the combat is great, the story is really intriguing, I'm so proud of Bloober finally making non walking sim games (and pulling it off), I have no fear for SH1R at all after playing Cronos!
All this Silent Hill talk got me to finally start up the Remake for spooky season.
Can´t wait to see what Konami is cooking with the remake of the original.
I bought SH2R at launch and will do the same for SH1R, but SHf is a sale purchase for me, whenever that happens. It doesn't look or feel Silent Hill to me, and that's a grievous mistake.
Just finished my first playthrough of SH F. Trippy, brutal stuff. I hope some of the other possible endings are somewhat happier.
