Re: Poll: Did You Buy the Dead Space PS5 Remake?

DTfearTheBEARD

Put my pre-order in last week, and my copy is out for delivery today. I have the original Dead Space for Xbox 360, and I've only played and completed it once years ago.

After recently finishing Dead Space 3 co-op with a friend (Series X), and it wasn't bad, just not scary. I'm excited to get lost in a more survival horror Dead Space game again.

Re: Dead Space (PS5) - Faithful Remake Brings Back a Classic

DTfearTheBEARD

My copy shipped out today, so it should be here tomorrow on release. 60fps all the way.

The biggest disappointment to me is the lack of gyro support, but I'll have to do without it. I've had Dead Space for years on 360, but I only played it one time.

So this will be a pretty fresh experience for me. With lights off, headphones on, and an OLED display!

Between Dead Space & Goldeneye, this is going to be a great weekend!

Re: Hardware Review: DualSense Edge - An Outstanding Upgrade for Enthusiasts

DTfearTheBEARD

I was debating on pre-ordering one but decided not to. With 7 Dualsense controllers, I can wait a little while on this.

I will admit that when I play games on my Series X with the Elite Series 2 or PS4 games with a Dualshock 4 and back button attachment, I miss the back buttons after picking up a Dualsense.

I don't play games competitively, so I don't take advantage of everything a Pro style controller has to offer (trigger stops, thumb stick tension, ect), but the back buttons and premium feel is great for someone like me who games multiple hours a day.

I'll eventually pick one up, but for now, the standard Dualsense is fine.

Re: Dead Space PS5 Uses DualSense to Deliver a New Dimension of Dread

DTfearTheBEARD

@dschons I prefer to have loose stick resistance also. It's nice to be able to adjust the stick tension on my Elite Series 2 controller. I was hoping the Dualsense Edge controller would have the same option, but that doesn't seem to be the case, unfortunately. If only Xbox controllers had gyro sensors in them, then gyro would probably be a standard across the board for all consoles. I agree. It's nice to see Sony have gyro available for most of their 1st party games. It's definitely a step up from the PS4 gen that's for sure.

Re: PS Plus Extra, Premium PS5, PS4 Games for January 2023 Announced

DTfearTheBEARD

The Premium games are still disappointing as with this month's free PS Plus games (to me at least), but I see a few Extra games I'll play so this month isn't all bad for PS5.

Life is Strange Before The Storm, Erica, & Omno.
With Dead Space Remake at the end of the month.

Game Pass will also keep me busy on my Series X with Persona 3 & 4, & Monster Hunter Rise.

Re: Opinion: Why 2023 Will Be PS5's Biggest and Best Year Yet

DTfearTheBEARD

I've had my PS5 since launch, and it's been great so far with exclusives and backward-compatibility, plus it's my multiplat console of choice over my Series X.

2023 seems to be another great year with -

Dead Space Remake
Dragonball Z Kakarot
Forspoken
Hogwarts Legacy
Resident Evil 4 Remake
Stellar Blade
Final Fantasy 16
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth
Spider-Man 2
Silent Hill 2 Remake
Suicide Squad

Plus, whatever else hasn't been announced yet. An even better version of my favorite controller with the Dualsense Edge releasing soon also.
I'm excited to see what 2023 has to offer for PS5, Switch & Series X...

Re: PS5's Pricey DualSense Edge Pad Has Shorter Battery Life

DTfearTheBEARD

Hearing that the battery life is worse than a standard Dualsense controller is a shame. It's not a dealbreaker to me, though. I bought an Elite Series 2 controller to go with my Series X, and it's hard to go back to a standard Xbox controller. I need my back buttons! Now, just release a back button attachment for regular Dualsense controllers, Sony!

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give The Callisto Protocol?

DTfearTheBEARD

Played through the game 3 times (normal, hard, easy) and got the Platinum in a few days. I really enjoyed my time with The Callisto Protocol. I'd give it an 8/10. The 3d audio sounded amazing, and the framerate was a smooth 60fps with VRR for the most part. Most importantly (to me), I was pleasantly surprised the PS5 version has gyro support!
