Re: Final Fantasy 16 Dev Praises PS5 for Game's 'Breakneck Pace' with No Loading Screens

DTfearTheBEARD

Near instant load times are easily one of the best features of the current gen. Another one would be how quiet the PS5 & Series X are, especially compared to the PS4 Pro (One X was also quiet)
I'm also impressed by how much power you get out of a $500 console with up to 120fps, Ray Tracing, ect. Backward-compatibility is also great.(especially on Series X) all of that combined with a nice TV, (in my case the LG C1 OLED) makes this gen amazing so far!

Re: Rumour: Sony Poised to Reveal 'Perfect for PS5' Gaming Monitors

DTfearTheBEARD

@Kidfunkadelic83 Thank you! I appreciate it. Are you playing RE2 in RT mode or high frame rate? Unfortunately my Platinum trophy transfered over from the PS4 version, so I didn't have a reason to play it again on PS5, but I played a little because I love the adaptive triggers on the Dualsense. However, I didn't have all the achievements on the Series X version, So I ended up playing it a few times on there lol. High frame rate mode is easily my favorite of the 3 options. VRR makes it run great!

Re: Rumour: Sony Poised to Reveal 'Perfect for PS5' Gaming Monitors

DTfearTheBEARD

@eagletrippin I don't worry about it, but I know it can be a concern. I've had Samsung Galaxy Note phones for years with no burn in, and they all have AMOLED screens. Same with my original PS Vita with the OLED screen & Nintendo Switch OLED(the Switch
i play daily since it's release) The LG C1 has a gallery app where you can download Screen savers that constantly change if you step away from the TV for a little while. I usually turn my C1 off if I get up to go get something to eat, or use the restroom, ect. Plus it helps if you don't constantly play the same games or watch the same TV shows with still images in the corners of the screen. I never have the OLED pixel brightness above 75, I usually have it at 50. Which is more than bright enough for me. But I know everyone has different preferences. Anyways, may you have no screen burn in and enjoy your TV! 😁

Re: Rumour: Sony Poised to Reveal 'Perfect for PS5' Gaming Monitors

DTfearTheBEARD

@Kidfunkadelic83 What games have you played on it? I was thinking about getting the 55" C1 because it's only $100 more than my 48", but it was a little too big for my desk. I know you said you don't like playing horror games. But you should definitely try RE2, RE3, RE7, & RE Village on the OLED, they all look amazing on the C1. Well everything looks amazing on that TV lol.

Re: Rumour: Sony Poised to Reveal 'Perfect for PS5' Gaming Monitors

DTfearTheBEARD

@Shinnok789 I agree! The perfect monitor for my PS5 & Series X has been my 48" LG C1 OLED hands down! A few months ago I bought the Samsung G7 27" gaming monitor because it has hdmi 2.1, VRR, ect. It didn't have built in speakers so I bought some Bose speakers for it. The total was about $900. Around the same time I upgraded my TV to the LG C1 77", so I knew the TV was amazing already. Best Buy had a sale on tv's and I noticed the 48" C1 was on sale for $1000. So I ended up taking the gaming monitor and speakers back and replaced it with the 48" C1. Best decision I've made! Once you go OLED, you can't go back!

Re: Mini Review: Resident Evil 7: Biohazard (PS5) - Basic Upgrade for a Great Game

DTfearTheBEARD

@WaveBoy I can't tell if the resolution is 1080p, 1440p, ect in high frame rate mode, but it still looks good. Same as with RE2 & RE3. And the 120fps makes the game more enjoyable. Mind you, I've been playing it on my 48" C1 and not my 77" C1, so mabey the smaller screen makes it look nicer? You haven't tried it yet? I'm waiting for the Digital Foundry video for the games, because I'm curious what the resolution is when high frame rate is on. That's my only complaint with the PS5 version, still no Gyro Support SMH. Twin stick aiming is hard to go back to after playing Switch shooters that support gyro...

Re: Mini Review: Resident Evil 7: Biohazard (PS5) - Basic Upgrade for a Great Game

DTfearTheBEARD

I've put the most time into RE7 so far on my PS5 with the new update and mabey it's because of my TV, (LG C1 OLED) but the game looks great in 120fps mode and ray tracing mode. I personally prefer 120fps mode because clearly the gameplay is much smoother and it makes aiming easier (for me at least).

The updates are minor, but welcome none the less.

Ray tracing, 120fps, VRR, 3D audio, & adaptive triggers. All great additions to some of my favorite games!

Thanks Capcom! Bring on RE4 Remake & RE Village Gold Edition!

Re: Rumour: Sony to Announce a Premium Pro Controller for PS5

DTfearTheBEARD

When the Elite Series 2 controller came out I couldn't see myself paying $180 for a controller. A few months ago when the Elite Series 2 was on sale for $140, I gave in and bought it. Now it's probably my favorite controller of all time right next to the Dualsense. I've been hoping Sony would release a back button attachment for the Dualsense like they did with the Dualshock 4. But I'll buy a Dualsense Pro controller also. I can do without stick swapping and trigger adjustments, but I love having back buttons on my controllers!

Re: Resident Evil 2 (PS5) - A Cheap and Fairly Cheerful Upgrade

DTfearTheBEARD

I haven't put much time into the PS5 version of RE2 (already have the Platinum trophy) as I have been with the Series X version, but to me the Series X version runs smoother with ray tracing & VRR enabled. I kinda prefer the 120fps mode though, which still looks great visually on my LG C1 OLED.
I'm a big fan of the adaptive triggers on the Dualsense, so that's always a welcome addition. But Idk why Capcom (or most developers for that matter) refuse to add gyro support for PS4/PS5 games. 60 or 120fps with gyro aiming would be amazing! I love using gyro for shooters on my Switch. (Doom, Sniper Elite, Zombie Army, ect)
Most Playstation games don't include it, which makes no sense.

Re: Resident Evil 2, 3, and 7 PS5 Versions Available to Download Now

DTfearTheBEARD

I hope Capcom releases physical copies of RE2, 3, & 7 for PS5 and Series X. I want these games on disc, like I have with the PS4 and Xbox One versions.
So far I only started RE 7 Gold edition (PS5) and noticed that not all of the the trophies transfered over with my save. I had the Platinum on the PS4 version, and now I'm a few trophies short of the Platinum for the PS5. Oh well, it gives me a reason to play the game again! The game runs so smooth with 120fps and VRR! Ray tracing looks great also!

Re: All PS5 Games Running at 120fps

DTfearTheBEARD

That's a very small list compared to 120fps games supported for Xbox Series X. Thankfully I have both consoles!

So far the only games i have for PS5 that support 120fps is:

Borderlands 3
Devil May Cry 5
Doom Eternal
Uncharted Legacy of thieves collection

Re: Poll: Will You Buy The Last of Us: Part I?

DTfearTheBEARD

I'm definitely buying it day 1. I love The Last of Us games! I bought TLOU for PS3 about 2 years after launch for $7 (360 gamer that generation). And I bought TLOU Remastered for PS4 for $20. So I didn't pay full price for either game. After hours of entertainment with both games, I don't mind paying Naughty Dog $70 for a Remake of one of my favorite games! I'm glad the multiplayer isn't being added this time around because it will make it easier to get the Platinum trophy πŸ˜„

Re: Resident Evil 2, 3, and 7 PS5 Versions Probably Out Next Week

DTfearTheBEARD

I'll get back into RE3 to grab the last 2 trophies for the Platinum when the update drops. I already have the Platinum for RE2 and RE7, but I'll probably play them again anyway to try the haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, and 3D audio. I really hope Capcom adds Gyro support to the PS5 version for all 3 games, but I doubt it...

Re: Resident Evil 3 PS5 Upgrade Could Be Close to Release

DTfearTheBEARD

@WaveBoy Thanks for the information. I kinda figured 120fps support would be included, seeing as these games run at 60fps on last gen hardware (PS4 Pro, Xbox One X)
I would LOVE to see gyro support, but I doubt Capcom will include it.
Always wanted to try RE7 in VR but I didn't buy a PSVR. Not enough games in VR that I was interested in to make the purchase seem worth it for me.
Anyways, I'm looking forward to replying these games on my LG C1 OLED either way. Mabey Capcom will re-release these games with gyro controls on the Switch 2 or whatever Nintendo calls there next console. I'd definitely buy them again for portable play.

Re: Resident Evil 3 PS5 Upgrade Could Be Close to Release

DTfearTheBEARD

I'll take another reason to revisit RE 2, 3, & 7 again.
A 120fps option would be great, but what I'd really love to see for the PS5 version is gyro aiming.
Some of the RE games Capcom has released for Switch support gyro controls (RE Revelations 1 & 2) but Capcom and most other companies completely ignore gyro support for PS4/PS5. I don't understand it πŸ˜•... Either way, I'm looking forward to playing these games on one of my new LG C1 OLED TV's. I know they will look amazing 😍

Re: Nintendo Switch Has Now Outsold PS4 in USA

DTfearTheBEARD

@LightningLeader Switch has so many amazing games! It's my favorite console of all time! I have over 240 physical Switch games, so if you need any suggestions, let me know. I have the other FF 13 games downloaded already. I'll definitely have to pick up physical copies of those games soon!

Re: Nintendo Switch Has Now Outsold PS4 in USA

DTfearTheBEARD

@LightningLeader Welcome to the family! I hope you enjoy your Switch OLED! I love mine, and my other Switch/Lite systems as well. Great profile pic by the way! I recently started playing Final Fantasy 13 on my Series X and I'm loving it so far! Im a big fan of Lightning 😁

Re: Poll: What's Your PS5, PS4 Game of the Year So Far?

DTfearTheBEARD

Horizon Forbidden West is definitely my game of the year for PS5 so far!

I haven't played Elden Ring yet, I'll probably wait for a sale and pick it up for Series X. I hear that VRR helps with the frame drops, so yeah.

Uncharted Collection was fun, but those games aren't new. Dying Light 2 has been kinda disappointing with all of the bugs the game has...

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 PS5 Version Out Now

DTfearTheBEARD

Already played and finished the game when it released. That was a year ago, so I'm curious to see what's changed since then. Downloading the PS5 upgrade now. I'll check it out eventually...
Dying Light 2 & Horizon Forbidden West will be taking up most of my gaming time for a while.

Re: Horizon Forbidden West Has Gyro Aiming, Many Accessibility Options

DTfearTheBEARD

You had me at gyro aiming. As others have said, I wish gyro was supported in more games for Playstation. It was added to The Last of Us 2 later on, but Naughty Dog didn't include gyro with the recently released Uncharted Collection smh. Switch has so many games that support gyro, including PokΓ©mon Legends Arceus for example. Mabey if Xbox controllers had gyro sensors built in that gyro support would be more commonly accessible?

Re: Guerrilla Shares PS4 Screenshots of Horizon Forbidden West

DTfearTheBEARD

The game looks great for PS4 owners! I've been lucky to have my PS5 since day 1 and I could NEVER go back to using my PS4 Pro anymore. The significantly improved load times, 60fps with most games, basically complete backward-compatibility with PS4 games, and the amazing Dualsense controller, make the PS5 a must own system for me, especially if you have a big back log of PS4 games like I do. Basically the PS5 is the best PS4 you can buy, along with being a current gen system...
