Microsoft and Ninja Theory have confirmed Senua's Saga: Hellblade II will be ported to PS5 in an Enhanced Edition this summer. You can wishlist the game now on the PS Store.
The news comes from a video uploaded to X (or Twitter) by the developer, where it's confirmed this upgraded version will have new features, haptic feedback implementation, and will support PS5 Pro as well as the base system.
"Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II arrives optimized for PlayStation 5, and PS5 Pro Enhanced, with added features and immersive haptic feedback for new ways to experience the award-winning and critically acclaimed next chapter of Senua’s story," the PS Store page explains. It's not known yet whether there'll be a physical version on PS5 or if it's a digital exclusive.

Of course, PlayStation fans began their journey with Senua back on PS4 with Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice. This sequel is a direct follow-up, first released for Xbox Series X|S and PC last year. The original version maintains a Metacritic rating of 81, with praise shared for its visual and audio design.
So far, Microsoft has already brought over Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Age of Mythology: Retold, and Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition to PS5 this year alone. It has this, Gears of War: Reloaded, and The Outer Worlds 2 confirmed for later on in 2025, and there are rumours more ports are still on the way, like Halo.

Well this was inevitable
This pales in comparison to the first game, the first 30 minuets is just pressing forward on the stick. I believe Ninja Theory have the talent to make amazing games, this one simply missed the mark it several areas...
Yay the most boring game in the world 😒 gave me stomach ache its that crap, how much is the garbage so I can whinge some more 😂
@Icey664 thanks Thanos
Heard nothing but bad things about this one. If therell be a physical release, i might buy it when the price drops. If not, then im good
I had every opportunity to play on my xbox, still not interested lol. My interest is mostly centered around the OG and 360 games stuck just on xbox going everywhere. #FreeMistwalker
This was one of my favourite games of last year
I understand that this game has its fans, but I can't for the life of me figure out why. It's an astoundingly bad game, in my opinion. You're paying an insulting $50 to spend five hours walking, solving patronizingly easy puzzles, and slogging through a combat system that is significantly dumbed down compared to the first game.
The first game was leagues ahead of this sequel in every facet except raw graphical detail, and even then, I'd call its hyper focus on raw detail a bad thing, considering how much it obviously compromises what Senua's Saga can do.
Not for me but it was really nice to hear Heavenly Sword get a mention
Yes, please! This and Fable are all I ever wanted from Xbox.
Well I'm happy is coming for the people that wanted it, as for me I'll stay away from boredom simulator 🫠 (I do want a Heavenly Sword remaster though!)
Probably the most boring game I managed to beat…
But it’s gonna look outstanding on a PS5 Pro.
Played the first 2 hours on PC and uninstalled it. Such a shame as the 1st game was brilliant.
I played it back at launch on PC and it was easily the worst game I played last year, probably even this full generation. Consisting of walking around some dull empty environments, solving boring stand in the right spot to line up some symbols puzzles and a bit of dull, seemingly scripted combat, looked pretty though.
Played Still Wakes The Deep a week later and enjoyed that so much more
Great! I will double dip on this one (this saga and Remedy games are the only ones I would gladly double dip).
it was an interesting stunning looking walking simulator
personally i dont mind a walking simulator. I wouldnt spend alot of money on it but I would pick it up cheap on ps5
Love walking simulators and really enjoyed the first game. Glad this is getting the DualSense and PS5 Pro treatment!
It's an utterly stunning game, audibly and visibly spectacular.
But I couldn't help but be a bit disappointed with it, everything else from the story to the gameplay and combat, but especially the voices in her head felt like a major step back from Hellblade 1.
I was more than happy to have played it via Game Pass but wouldn't have been happy to pay full price for it.
@trev666 I haven't got a problem with walking sims, Still wakes the deep is incredible and I highly recommend it!
Even on PS+ I wouldn't bother
I'm excited to play it! I know it didn't seem to impress as much as the first one but I still want to judge it for myself. I've been a Ninja Theory fan since Heavenly Sword so I'm glad I'll get to play this one after all on Playstation.
I really liked the original so I will definitely play it, but I've not really heard the best things about this one.
Meaning it's the best way to play it on the ps5 pro.word up son
@RBMango My personal takeaway was that this was a game that prioritised graphics over actual playability (like the first game did, but to an ever further degree). My best memory is this was the game championed by the Xbox-gamer Twitter hivemind to prove the value of Game Pass (as this was the only "new" FP title to be released between November 2023 and September 2024 that wasn't a remake). From the little I've played of it, I don't see where that praise is coming from.
@Oram77 yes still wakes the deep is a better game but if you dont mind a walking simulator i think both are worth a play through.
but for me walking simulators are cheaper games so dont spend alot of money on either of them
Perfect I only need Starfield and I can sell my Xbox =D
Glorified tech demo. I'm good, thanks.
By the end of the year Microsoft has released the first Halo demo from 1999 on PS...
Not interested in Senuas Walking Saga. Now if they bring over Avowed I may be tempted.
I played it on Xbox - not worth the bother (it was a bit crap)
Wonder if it will get 60fps as part of the "Enhanced Edition"?
I won’t buy it at full price, but I’ll definitely play it at some point. Funnily enough, I’ve had the game installed on my Series X since the day it came out and I’ve yet to find the desire to actually play it. That said, I have the platinum for the first game so I might as well get the platinum for the sequel, especially since you can realistically beat it in a single sitting or two.
As predictable as PS5 release was, I'd also predict this to be first Xbox studios PS release dud.
Sequel was a way worse "game" compared to the original, literally a tech demo that can be "played" with same level of interactivity through YouTube in 4K.
@Oram77 Enslaved - Odyssey to the West remains one of my favourite games.
I was really looking forward to this when it released on xbox, i was so dissapointed with it. If anyone is thiking of getting it i would say wait until its cheap, even then i would say you might feel dissapointed and robbed.
@Rob_230 Exactly, that's why I'm so surprised Ninja Theory fumbled with this game...
@Korgon play it , judge it , never speak of it again.
@get2sammyb Just go in and judge it for yourself. It's definitely more of an experience than a gamey game, but it's not objectively bad like some people suggest. Merely not for everyone.
They had to do this like Xbox's God of War. It was the expectations of most of the internet since the first reveal. Hope they don't waste their next 7 years or something with another mediocrity.
Really enjoyed the first Hellblade, played this one on pc game pass got about 2 hours in, then uninstalled as i found it very boring.
I'll definitely give it a shot. Glad its getting ported over.
not sure if sony owns the rights to Heavenly Sword, and Enslaved but since ms is also publishing these games on ps5 now , sony should give the rights to those games to ninja theory to make new games , both were pretty over looked series.
@Cikajovazmaj I think Pentiment already took that title.
This was the one game I was disappointed to lose to Xbox. (Well, Elder Scrolls VI, but that was/is a long time away.
I’ve read the reviews and believe them, but I’ll still play it. Not at full price, but I’ll play it.
Full game on disc or GTFO
Hard pass the first game was terrible so boring with hardly any gameplay and what little there was felt so basic.
Part one is one of my favorite games but Part 2 was such let down. Worse combat, gameplay, story and environments. The graphics improved and are great but every thing else is a step back. If you even think of the story it doesn't make sense and they turned a deep character like Senua in part 1 to a cardboard cutout in part 2
@AndersRend I finished it on PC gamepass but you didnt miss out. You were around 1/3rd in at 2 hours as it 6-7 hours to finish lol.
Edge's review summed it up
I'm the person that wants all of these Xbox games to do great so Microsoft eventually brings Killer Instinct (1,2 & remake) over but this game is not going to do much on PlayStation either.
Very niche I doubt it will even register, Ninja Theory just needs to go back to their gameplay rules days and stop making these interactive walking movies.
Is it enhanced with some game play? Or will it remain a tech demo?
Good to hear that it’s coming
I'll wait for a very deep sale on this one based on the reviews. But nice to see another previously exclusive game come over.
Only surprised that its taken this long - I expected this to be next after the first 4 (sea of thieves, Grounded etc) as the first was on PS and this is quite a niche 'experience' (more than a Game) as it endeavours to give you the experience of living with Psychosis.
Its more about the voices and how they react to you and your 'in-game' situation. In combat, if you are doing well, the voices maybe confident but take more hits and they become more negative. Combat and Puzzles are 'challenging' situations to add contexxt to the state of Psychosis - not to 'challenge' you as a Gamer to overcome. As such, its more 'niche' and more an 'experience' than a game - which also means you don't limit it to a 'Platform' (its not going to sell Hardware) when you need it to reach as many people as possible who enjoy 'niche' experiences.
Cool, I'll definitely check this out later on. I thought Hellblade was pretty well executed overall. Definitely a world I'd return to.
I would say PlayStation only gamers wouldn't play any more than £15 for this.
There's barely a game to play, you could mostly get the same experience via YouTube walkthrough
Physical release with the full game on the disc? I'll buy day 1.
Digital only? They can keep it.
It's very simple, Microsoft.
@get2sammyb the 3d audio headphones are gonna be amazing with this games sound direction 😉
I found it dull as hell... The trial by error in the beginning just annoyed me so I stopped playing, I got the impression that was the whole game, could be wrong but the sour taste was too much
Will it be in the stores 'Demo' section lol
Ah almost missed this story! Rally enjoyed the first Hellblade though I heard a mixed response to the sequel. Look forward to diving into this sometime in the future
@Anthony_Daniels not even close. You’re missing the entire point of these games.
I never played the 1st and 2nd game. But i heard both games especially the 2nd one are a far cry compare to NT old games like Heavenly Sword, Enslaved, and even DmC. If it's true then that's unfortunate.
@naruball
To be bored, nah I got it.
Thanks tho
Money, money, money...
I think that many of those who say it's a demo will have played and enjoyed games like Journey. (almost all time pressing forward on the stick).
@DTfearTheBEARD, do you prefer a disc with 20 GB and 100 GB of download space like Indiana Jones? I wouldn't wait for that.
I wouldn't bother. It sucks.
I'm glad the era of Xbox exclusives is truly dead so we can get great games **like** this one (even if everyone saying this was a boring, bloated sequel to the excellent first game is 100% correct)
I've never seen such polarised comments for this game. It's literally like half the population saying it's an absolute turd, and the rest saying it's fantastic.
The first game really left an impression on me, so I'll definitely be picking this up and making up my own mind!
@Anthony_Daniels indeed, you'd be bored, because you're entirely miss their point.
@Supern0va considering how few copies it sold, I seriously doubt most people even played it.
Odd one, i was looking forward to this game after playing the first one (during a sale) resulting in a game which i thought was quite unique and interesting in its own way.
I was quite miffed when the studio was bought by XBOX and became an exclusive and therefore i would be unable to play it. However, having read the comments here and on previous articles regarding the game it appears that i haven't and won't be missing much if i skip this, shame as i mentioned in my opening sentence this game was quite interesting, shame that doesn't seem to have been expanded upon by the developers, in fact the reverse seems to have occurred.
@get2sammyb it's a step down from the original for the most part but boy is it ever gorgeous. It's a moderately interactive walking sim that doesn't overstay it's welcome. If it's your cup of tea then £15-20 is reasonable. For anyone else interested, also wait for a sale unless you're desperate to support the developer.
Physical version or bust.
@Cry_Zero same after reading what the general sentiment is
