Silent Hill 2 developer Bloober Team has confirmed in a statement that it's still working with Konami on delivering a true PS5 Pro enhancement update for its excellent survival horror remake. Via Eurogamer, it simply said: "We're working with the publisher on a solution and will share more details as soon as we have them."
Around the time of the PS5 Pro's release late last year, Silent Hill 2 was tagged as a PS5 Pro Enhanced game. However, no such update actually arrived, and then it turned out the PS5 version actually ran worse when played on a PS5 Pro. A noticeable "shimmering" effect was discovered by players, and was ever-present on PS5 Pro, becoming a distraction as you played.

Bloober Team has been aware of the technical issues since November 2024, and patches since then have not delivered the advertised PS5 Pro upgrades. Breaking its silence six months later, Bloober Team confirms the problems continue to be looked at.
