Re: Sony's Left Bloodborne Fans More Frustrated Than Ever Following Bluepoint Shutdown

@themightyant
Layden and Shuhei once said that while studios are free to pitch their ideas, sometimes Sony nudges them in one direction that they feel it will benefit the company as a whole.
They would often negotiate to reach a compromise between what the studio wanted and what Sony needed at the time, find a way where everyone would benefit.

Personally I don't think Hulst is doing the negotiation part, maybe its why his tenure is the one that closed more studios than any other one before him.

Re: Sony Makes Shocking Decision to Shut Down Bluepoint Games

@AverageGamer
He closed more studios in five years than Sony did over twenty five years. He pushed for live service games no one asked for. He keeps pushing Horizon despite the fact it doesn't sell. He went on a buying spree that has yet to bear any kind of result.

Hulst landed his ass up in a position he clearly don't belong, he doesn't know how to manage nor he does understand the public.

Shuhei Yoshida did a better job and the guy assumed when the PS3 was at its lowest and still managed to make it work.

Re: Sony Will Offset Soaring RAM Prices by Further Monetising PS5 Players

Increasing PS Plus seems like the obvious move, but we are also at a point where any more increases will push the customer away.

However increasing revenue from software and network can come in multiple ways, one "cheap" way is relaxing or facilitate for more games to come to PS Store, they did that back with Vita/PS3/Sony Ericsson and it was what allowed my old team to ship a game on Playstation. On the network side they could bundle a crunchyroll subscription alongside a PS Plus Deluxe.

Re: Sorry Haters, But Marathon Is Looking Real Good Right Now

@The_ghostmen
tbh I don't remember, but pattern recognition says you can't change the mindset of a crowd once it leans towards a direction.

And the current mindset is: Marathon will flop.
The funny thing is, everyone is pointing a different reason for why it will flop, but no one is denying that it will flop.

Re: Sony Considering PS6 Delay to 2028 or Even 2029, New Report Says

CielloArc

If it makes sense for them, they would release the PS6 today or tomorrow, or next month, or in 2077.

I get that its his job to analyze this kind of data, but pondering whether or not they'll delay the deployment of a new SKU when we are facing supply problems is kinda pointless.

Also, analysts are still questioning if Sony and Nintendo will raise the price of their consoles despite the fact both companies stated that they still have supplies for most of 2026.

@PuppetMaster
I mean, dropping an announcement for a GoW remake during that anniversary would be like prime marketing material, but nowadays marking is all about promoting ugly chics, mtx, live services and other things people don't want instead of making the most of an opportunity to promote your brand by turning it into an memorable event.

I still remember the E3 reveal for God of War 2018, and that reveal will be 10 years old by June.

Re: The Internet Has Not Been Kind to Horizon Hunters Gathering

I mean, why would people want Concord 4 when the first two were already a flop? We've yet to see the third one but I don't think it will fare any better than other two.

Also, gotta laugh at the fact the only legacy Concord made was spawning a term for short lived live service games that no one asked for in the first place.

Re: GDC Survey Reveals Developers Are Twice as Interested in Making Games for PS5 Than Xbox

CielloArc

Mind you this is mostly about what platforms are easier to publish and to advertise your game.

Xbox has been a nightmare ever since this gen came about, you have two consoles that are very different spec-wise, you have gamepass console, you have gamepass PC, you have xbox cloud and so on.
Not only that but if you want to partake into the whole Xbox ecosystem you have to optmize your game for Series S, SeriesX, Gamepass console, Gamepass PC and Xbox Cloud.

So yeah, compared to Xbox releasing on PC, Switch and PS5 is pretty straightforward and advertising in them is easy as well.

Re: Larian CEO Swen Vincke Sticks His Foot in It Again, Thinks Game Reviewers Should Also Be Reviewed

CielloArc

That's why I look both critics and user reviews in order to see a game/movie is worth my time and money.

There's a certain pattern where if a game/movie is good both scores will be even. Then there's the outliers where critics rate a product good but users rate it bad, or critics rate it bad but users rate it good. Then I have to use this pretty little nice thing called common sense to rationalize why the score is like that, and it usually boils down to politics.

Re: SNK Confirms New Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves Season with One of the Worst Trailers You'll Ever See

I don't care about the AI stuff itself, I care about how it is used.
I mean, companies are going full in thinking they can use it for a final product when it has already been proved it doesn't work like that nor you should use it like that.

I really hope the outcome of this whole AI thing is entire sales, marketing, HR and upper management departments across the industry losing their stupid jobs for pushing this tool as a magic bullet to cut costs. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

Re: Xbox's Avowed Will Be $20 Cheaper When It Launches on PS5

CielloArc

"However, this may stick in the craw of those who shelled out full-price for the game less than a year ago"

I don't know why that should be the case, other than paying full-price on a game that most people wouldn't even play without being paid, and even if they get paid they still wouldn't play it.
