Forza Horizon 5 PS5

The PS5 version of Forza Horizon 5 has now sold more than five million units since its April 2025 launch and made over $300 million in revenue for publisher Microsoft, one Alinea Analytics reporter claims.

Rhys Elliott of the analytical firm posted to social media that, as of last week, Alinea Analytics estimates Forza Horizon 5 "crossed 5 million copies sold on PS5", giving Microsoft "over $300M in revenue from a port of a four-year-old game".

The last official sales update of any kind for Forza Horizon 5 — looking at the PS5 version specifically — came in July 2025, just after the game's PS5 port launched. It was said the PS5 version sold two million copies inside a month, and all (unofficial) reports since then have pointed to the port being a huge success for Microsoft.

The firm doesn't share official sales statistics, and it's unclear how Alinea Analytics comes to its estimates. If the new total for Forza Horizon 5 is accurate, then it marks a big success for Microsoft.

Forza Horizon 6 is next from Playground Games, and it's already announced for PS5. However, as of right now, the PS5 version will release after Xbox Series X|S and PC.

The open world racer will be one of the headliners in the next Xbox Developer Direct on 22nd January 2026, along with Fable and Beast of Reincarnation. Expect to learn much more about the game there, and potential news surrounding a PS5 version of Fable. According to VGC journalist Andy Robinson, a PS5 port is indeed in the works.
