Xbox first-party RPG Avowed will cost $20 less than it did at launch when it releases on the PS5 next month, from 17th February.
Microsoft originally flogged the Obsidian adventure for $69.99 when it first arrived on Xbox Series X|S and PC – although it was also included in Game Pass, of course.
But pre-orders for the PlayStation port are available now for $49.99, representing a $20 discount compared to the title’s original price.
To be fair to the Redmond firm, it appears to have permanently discounted the Xbox and PC versions as of 9th January, so the price will be consistent across all platforms. However, this may stick in the craw of those who shelled out full-price for the game less than a year ago.

A Premium Edition is also available on the PS Store for $59.99, which includes a digital artbook and soundtrack, two player armours, and eight companion skins. There’s a $10 upgrade available if you want to purchase this at a later date.
Said Premium Edition cost a whopping $89.99 when the game first launched last year, so that represents an even bigger saving at this stage in the title’s lifecycle. As above, all prices have now been been adjusted across all systems to match the PS5 pricing.
Avowed was a minor hit upon its original release, attracting an 80 Metacritic rating and some fan acclaim. But Microsoft will be hoping this PS5 port – along with its adjusted price point – will help the game reach a much larger audience this time around.
