Re: Japan Sales Charts: PS5 Continues to Tank in Japan Following Price Increase

CielloArc

Honestly I fail to see how that is bad in any shape or form, Sony has never managed to outsell a good Nintendo console for long. Managing to move the same amount of units as a $200 hardware despite being almost double the price is quite the feat.

Wanna see a tanked console? Xbox series all time sales is still less than Switch on a good month. The nintendo behemoth is capable of outselling the green team on a 10:1 basis constantly.

Re: God of War Ragnarok PC Mod Removes PSN Login Requirement

CielloArc

I wonder if those people even KNOW GOG is a thing that exists just for cases like this where you don't want DRM or sign-ins, I own the entire Arkham series there and on Steam, the difference being WB account is not mandatory on GOG.

Also, gotta love how bipolar the PC crowd is, because when the Helldivers 2 fiasco happened they complained because nowhere it was stated that PSN account was mandatory, now it was stated time and time again and they still complain.

Re: Reaction: Why There Are So Many Unnecessary PS5 Remasters for Games That Don't Need Them

CielloArc

I do not mind remasters, but they need to be from games at least two generations behind. I mean, they got Infamous, Resistance and Killzone which are IPs that could use some love.

Anyways, we all know those remasters are not only for a new crowd to enjoy those """old""" games, they also serve to gauge public reactions.

Both Horizon Forbidden West and TLOU Part 2 sold pretty damn well and are awesome games on the technical level, but they also had a moderate resistance from the general public due to some plot and character developments, resistance that wasn't there on their predecessors, and so releasing a remaster is a way to see where they f'ed up and where they can correct the course.

I'd say Ragnarok and Spidey 2 also suffer from the same problems as FW and TLOU2, but they can be fixed by pacing the plot better, and on Spidey case, please no more switching between characters, it detracts from the game.

Re: In an Unprecedented Twist, Sony Is Licensing Freedom Wars to Bandai Namco

CielloArc

Good, people who were complaining about Sony not utilizing their IPs must understand that it costs money, a lot of money, to develop games.

The entire development cycle of something like MediEvil Remake costs the same as a year of God of War Ragnarok, yet it won't sell as much as that game.

Licensing some of your IPs for other studios is probably the future since it cuts the development costs by nearly 60%.

Re: Feature: PS5 Pro's Been Clowned on By the Entire Internet, and the Memes Will Make You Laugh

@PsBoxSwitchOwner
I'll be honest, couldn't see **** captain.
For me its the same as seeing an OLED tv review by youtube, I can grasp what they are saying but for me to see any real difference I have to be there and test it myself.

All in all, I'm probably the target of PS5 Pro since my library is 100% digital, however I'll wait to see how it performs and maybe I'll get one once the next batch of first party titles arrive.

Re: Talking Point: Is PS5 Pro Way Too Expensive?

CielloArc

@SuntannedDuck2
TBH we are in a flash ram shortage right now, prices of everything from SSDs/RAM/VRAM is going up to the point some GPU manufacturers are releasing cards with memory downgrades.

Case in point, 4070 Super with GDDR6 instead of the more expensive GDDR6X

Re: Talking Point: Is PS5 Pro Way Too Expensive?

CielloArc

Right now? Sure it is, we don't even have games that will take advantage of this new tech.

I'll do what I did with PS4 Pro and wait 2 years before buying one, by the time I get one there will be plenty of games to play anyways.

Re: Reaction: PlayStation Needs to Take a Long, Hard Look at Itself

CielloArc

@AdamNovice
Live service push wasn't wrong, its the way they did that was wrong.

It is almost like the ones responsible to deliver reports forgot to do basic market research, figure out what genres were strong within the platform, which one could trend, who is the target demographic and so on.

If this was done properly, I doubt Sony would buy the studio or better, if this was done properly Concord would be a very different game.

Re: Jennifer Hale Says AI Is Coming for All of Us

CielloArc

I always find funny that its people from the art department losing their marbles when it comes to AI, it won't hit them and if it hits it will be probably on things that affects the pipeline and not them directly.

Its more cost effective to apply AI when it comes to coding than it is when it comes to 3D modeling, sound, mocap and so on, since code is easier to automate and doesn't depend on things like "artistic style".
