In case you forgot, Sony is publishing 4Loop, developed by Bad Robot Games and spearheaded by the creator of Left 4 Dead. The guy really likes the number four.

The game is an "emergent, challenging, co-op combat sandbox" for four players, and the team has just debuted some new gameplay footage going over what it's all about.

It's an odd game to describe, but what it seems to boil down to is roguelike-ish runs where you go through various mission types to fight back against an alien enemy.

It seems efforts have been made to ensure each run is unique, with lots of emergent elements popping in to surprise players and force them to improvise.

The game has some interesting ideas and there seems to be plenty of potential for chaotic fun with some friends, but by the same token, we can't help but feel it looks a little generic, at least visually. There's just something not quite clicking with us.

This is one we're going to have to play ourselves before we can really figure it out. There's no date on 4Loop yet, but it's due for release on PS5.
