We must admit, our collective jaws were on the floor during the reveal of Project Windless during PlayStation's latest State of Play broadcast.

This is a frankly insane looking open world RPG currently in development for PS5. It's got a touch of Dynasty Warriors to it, sporting gigantic battlefields and crushing melee action — but you're playing as a giant bird-man.

Honestly, you've just got to watch the trailer for yourself. The game's apparently based on a Korean fantasy property called The Bird That Drinks Tears, in which animal-based tribes and clans war with one another.

As for the game itself, developer Krafton Montréal Studio explains:

"We made it an open world with as little hand-holding as possible. You are free to chart your own course, the world rarely forces you in a single direction. Whether you’re exploring on your own, delving into a hidden story, or preparing up for a massive battle, we want your journey to feel personal and authentic, full of unexpected moments."
