We had previously bemoaned the fact that the Capcom’s comprehensive Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection was releasing without Ultra Street Fighter IV; fortunately publisher Capcom has corrected this grave error by allowing fans to get a free copy of the latter when they pre-order the upcoming compilation.
According to the PlayStation Blog, irrespective of whether you pre-order the physical or digital version of the brawling bundle, you’ll be treated to a voucher entitling you to the PlayStation 4 port of last-gen’s most popular fighting game. It means that all you’ll need to do is purchase a copy of Street Fighter V in order to have access to practically the entire franchise on one format.

Yeah sorry but Street Fighter series ended at 4. Street Fighter V was just a Capcom whoring out what use to be a great series.
@Tasuki It's a good game at its core, they've just made a lot of mistakes with everything surrounding it.
@get2sammyb @Tasuki Sf V can be fighting game of the decade if they just launch it with arcade mode (with proper opening and ending for each characters) and if capcom make all of future characters free, or at least can be bought with fight money with minimal effort.
That's a good deal.
@get2sammyb Come on Sammy those weren't mistakes they purposely did it for the money. Instead of waiting and releasing a finished game their greed got them plain and simple.
It’s funny because I was just thinking about buying Ultra Street Fighter 4 because there was a Capcom sale going on, good thing I waited cause I pre ordered this collection a few weeks back. As for Street Fighter V, yeah it had a bad launch, it did. But the gameplay is so good and it just got better over time. The Arcade Edition will keep you busy. It’s pretty cool to have the main Street Fighter games all on one console now.
SF2 has aged really badly, its looks pants and honsetly you cant believe you loved this game so much. You will rinse through a battle thinking what the hell. Why did I love this so much?
Then after you have the proper difficulty and you start remembering combos and reversals and you have a tight match and come out the other end your like.... Bloomin heck thats brilliant! Going back to it earlier this year was absolutely awesome going for a 7 star difficulty arcade run with Ryu and Ken is what gaming is all about.
I'm up for it, especially since I couldn't find a copy of USF4 to save my life. Since it's a reduced price, I'll try to preorder it soon.
@Tasuki
I don't necessarily disagree with you. But SF V is easily the best fighting game of this gen now that it's complete. It's a shame Capcom got stupid with it, and Sony allowed Capcom to get stupid with it, but can't change what happened. Just have to hope lessons were learned. Some of what has been done with RE VII and Monster Hunter show positive trends, so if there is an SF VI we just have to hope the more consumer-friendly decisions continue.
Anyway, I guess this is just a PS4 deal? Makes my decision tougher now. Portability as an option via the Switch or a free game? I'm going to have to mull that one over since I already have multiple versions of SF IV. It's a cool thing for Sony to offer though.
@Tasuki I honestly don’t think it was for the money. I think they put WAY too much focus on the esports, Capcom Pro Tour scene.
And I also think the game was frankly developed on a shoestring budget. And there’s probably some general incompetence, too!
@Bad-MuthaAdebisi No it’s a new game. Collection is a standalone package of 12 classic SF games. Pre-order and you also get Ultra SF 4
Wished it had Puzzle Fighter as well.
@Gamer83 the deal for IV is for Xbox One and Steam as well. The Switch gets an exclusive tournament mode for one of the Street Fighter II games or something like that. I have an Hori Pro Arcade Stick for PS4 and Switch, but I was going for the PS4 from the get go with this one.
Street Fighter Alpha 2 still needs online play. My only complaint for this.
@shonenjump86
Thanks for the info. Still leaning toward the Switch version but that may change as the release gets closer.
Oh. Well RIP Switch version then I guess.
Deal!!
It's very clever from Capcom. The Ps4 port of SFIV is brillant, despite a bad launch (how ironic) : it IS now the ultimate version of this great game. However, that's part of the problem : it is so great that I never felt the urge to buy SFV, especially with this chaotic launch. It just looks so similar to IV from where I stand, but with less characters and polish. I don't know.
This whole 30th anniversary thing is just the greatest thing even!!! Capcom are doing so well when it comes to this. Just fix super turbos speed!
Anyone who says these days that sfv is a bad game is just trolling and wrong, sorry.
Nice to see Capcom trying for a change..
I have USF4, it was enjoyable, but i still yearn for SF Zero/Alpha 2 so I cannot wait for this collection to come out...
ok that is an amazing deal for the £30 price tag it's going for on Amazon
still i was never a HUGE fan but it's been years since i played a Street Fighter so i think i'll pick this up, it's a good price and the series is worth another go
@Bobobiwan V is a massive departure from IV.
I wasn't taken with IV at all, but lots of my friends went in to it deep. The changes in gameplay for V are as significant as going from Third Strike to IV.
I like V - it's a top fighter.
@Gamer83 @get2sammyb While the DLC set up would no doubt have stayed mostly the same - the game wasn't in 'active development' until Sony came in. By then, tournament Season was approaching so Capcom had to put something out to cease the Xbox SFIV standard. I doubt very much that was a financial decision by Capcom or Sony (other than the aforementioned Xbox tourney thing) - that came later with the Arcade Edition.
I love retro game collections! Remember the days of Wii virtual console where we paid $5-$10.
SFV is sublime. Why bother playing the older, inferior ports?
Very happy with this. And they have fixed most of V's mistakes so I am not salty anymore.
I will surely take advantage of this! All the SF titles on one console!
And by the way folks, SFV > SFIV.
@KALofKRYPTON Yeah, I think I was misguided by the visuals. Maybe I was expecting a revolution like when we went from III to IV (which is impossible, cause we went from 2D to 3D).
But I've read here and there that the gameplay in V is really well thought. Now that the game seems to be complete (arcade mode and all of that), maybe I'll purchase it with the collection. I think it's time, now ! ;D
@Bobobiwan
Arcade Edition is worth the purchase now, without a doubt.
@Ryno because they are not inferior at all, thats why lol.
Am I right in saying the PS4 version of SFIV isn’t as good as the PS3?
