@LobsterJohnson No reason to be ashamed. There is an excitement in discovery and it is such a rich cultural history. I hope you enjoy the movies. I should pick up The Book of Five Rings as the Musahi trilogy is phenomenal. The acting in the movies can be melodramatic, but the cinematic craft is a sight to behold. Kurosawa especially creates rich landscapes with constantly shifting weather effects and fluid camera movement. His partnership with actors like Toshiro Mifune and Tatsuya Nakadai (who pop up in the samurai movies of other directors too) make for gripping drama as well.
@LobsterJohnson Have you seen Seven Samurai before? It’s one of my favorite films of all time. I got to see it in the theater and it was glorious. I hope the game gets more people to check out his films and other in the samurai genre. There are so many greats ones: Ran, Yojimbo, Rashomon, Sword of Doom, Throne of Blood, Samurai I: Musashi Miamoto (plus parts 2 and 3), Harakiri, Kagemusha, etc
@LiamCroft You kind of left out the most important part of that interview for a lot of people who had concerns after it was announced:
Is this a game-as-service? Fleur Marty: "This is very much not designed as a game-as-service. There is an ability tree, which is different for each of the characters, and then there's gear that you craft - and so choices that you're going to be making - but that does not mean that this is a game-as-service.
Certainly not what I hoped. I’m fine not playing as Batman for the whole game. I like the idea of playing as the Bat family members. What I don’t like is the co-op live service that will be filled with micro transactions. The rpg damage counters look stupid and the fight music was horrible. I wanted an exclusively single player game. I know you can play this solo, but my bet is that the company’s main focus is on multiplayer.
@KidBoruto Thank you for the follow-up! I was curious and now I know more about Miles. I really need to pick up some trade paperbacks/graphic novels with him as the lead.
I don’t play many online multiplayer games like Fortnite, but I’ve really gotten into Fall Guys so I have a few questions. Does your level generally reset when a new season starts? If so, are there new perks to earn? Obviously nothing is confirmed with Fall Guys season 2, I am just wondering about these types of games in general.
Hope it is the original trilogy with updated controls and animations among other quality of life improvements as well as graphics of course. I have very fond memories of playing them back then, but I know they are showing their age and could use a spruce up.
So tomorrow we can look forward to another cryptic tease? Then on Saturday, we get slideshow presentation with text and a 30-second teaser trailer with symbols and a title, right? They need to fire their advertising team. So sick of the teases.
I am all for how they are approaching platinum trophies now. Not everyone has an internet connection that can support online play and difficulty trophies do not take into account players with physical disabilities. If the playing field is not equal for all players then the achievement is not really representative of each gamer's passion and drive to accomplish the top prize. It's not about people not wanting to test themselves, but rather an artificial barrier set up that excludes members of the community. Plus, as others have said, the difficulty trophy actually works against me wanting to replay a game. I continued to play Spider-Man for hours after completing the story because the platinum was attainable and the activities were fun.
Finally! The hype levels are going to be off the charts so hopefully, they come within reach of expectations. It'll be hard to exceed them, but they need to really make an impression.
do we really need a new universe that ties together all DC games? look at what DC Extended Universe did with the movies. not everything has to be connected.
This would break the internet if Kojima was back for Silent Hills. I would not doubt that he could pull del Toro back in after they did Death Stranding. Put PT back on PSN and people would go nuts. Here’s hoping!
I really hope he does the free camera on the end credits scene with the surprise character (not posting the spoiler here) so we can see more of his design.
As seen in the documentary Raising Kratos, she was really key to God of War (2018) coming together in the way it did through her persistence and her promotion of Barlog's vision. It's a very sad loss for Sony Santa Monica. I wish her the best in her new role.
It looks like a good game. The article could use a more clear title though as it reads like the game is “Those Who Remain Creeps” haha. Better headline: “Psychological Thriller, Those Who Remain, Creeps onto PS4 in May”. It’s just a suggestion and not a judgement.
Yes! So happy you followed through with creating this feature series. It is really helpful to have your spotlight on cool creations within Dreams. Followed the playlist and gave you a thumbs up.
Any upgrade from PS3-era technology would be great. I love my PSVR, but the motion controllers are not always as accurate as I’d prefer them to be. Hopefully, these type of controllers will be compatible with the first headset. I can’t see upgrading to PSVR 2 for a bit after throwing down a big chunk of money for PS5.
This would be absolutely fantastic. I love the remake. I feel bad though that I never finished it. I got stuck on the final boss and eventually gave up. Am I the only one who found it frustrating?
@KnightRider1982 Yes, it took a bit for the email address box to pop up for me too. The website froze temporarily when I submitted the info. Maybe the page is getting a lot of traffic?
Fantastic score and the humming is such a novel concept that it pulled me further into the game. It's a perfect melding of storytelling and music. The game looks absolutely gorgeous too. It is easy to get lost in the world.
So great to see! I’d love it if they announced GoW sequel this summer for a spring 2021 release. Everyone who gets a PS5 over the holiday 2020 can have something big to look forward to in the new year. That’s approximately three years of post-release development after GoW (2018).
They really missed the boat on this one. There could have been Mimir heads in boxes under Christmas trees this past season. I know I would have liked a talking head with unlimited knowledge as a present under my tree.
It's not great for me, but I am excited for people who just got a PS4 for Christmas. Getting to play three Uncharted games right off the bat is awesome.
I literally shouted in joy when this trailer hit the screen. It was a huge disappointment when it was cancelled. Here’s hoping the new Telltale can do it justice as IMO the first season is only rivaled by Walking Dead season 1.
After the Batman fake out last time, I’m not betting on any specific game showing up this time despite possible hints. I’ll just be pleasantly surprised by whatever they show us.
@Th3solution yes, this was an issue with Tony Hawk HD on PS3. For me, part of the appeal and certainly now part of the nostalgia factor is the original music. Without it, I'd be less interested in picking it up.
@JoeBlogs This was a problem in God of War among many other games. The issue for that game was blamed on employees sitting very close to monitors during play testing so the issue was never flagged. It should always be tested from an average home viewing distance away so it doesn’t happen. Always including a slider to increase text size in subtitles and in menus is a no brainer too.
So much time has passed, Wahlberg was announced as Nate in 2010, that he is old enough to play Sully now hahaha. Holland is 23 years old. When the movie comes out in 2055, after Wahlberg drops out again, he can play Sully.
I wish they had put these out sooner because I would have used the Kratos stencil.
Pro-tip that I learned last year from a friend:
Tape the stencil to the pumpkin and use a pointed instrument (pen tip, small screwdriver) to poke a series of small holes along the lines where you intend to cut. I always used to free hand with a marker, but the tiny holes allow you to stay in the lines better. You too can, "Be better!"
Remaking a PSOne era title should include more than a visual upgrade in my opinion. Game tech and craft have changed so much in 20 years. The fact that the camera and controls were not modified makes zero sense to me. It will likely appeal to a core audience of nostalgia seekers and very few other gamers.
"Stingy checkpoints mean dying will send you back to the very start of a level." This may be period accurate, but it makes the game a non-starter for me. I had the time as a kid in the PSOne era to replay levels endlessly, but it was frustrating even back then. I think many modern gamers will be turned off by this alone.
I'm very happy for fans of the original game, but I wish it had at least offered optional customizable controls/camera/checkpoints for those of us who want a more modern take on what seems like a wonderful world and character.
We've had a horror game for PS Plus during October since 2016:
2016 - Resident Evil
2017 - Amnesia Collection
2018 - Friday the 13th
I would wager that we will get one this year too:
RE7
Vampyr
Little Nightmares (sequel coming 2020)
Layers of Fear (sequel released this year)/Observer (by Bloober Team for people wanting an indie)
@RogerRoger I loved a lot of Origins, but my favorite part was his music. The inclusion of Christmas bells in Batman mood music was genius for the setting of the game.

Can we get a new version of the Soul Katana for Ghost if Tsushima? I see that it was originally for Onimusha 3 on PS2.
