Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 212

Getting ready for the new God of War by playing the original games for the first time. I had tried playing the first entry, but I did not feel it aged well. So I watched the cutscene movie on YouTube and jumped into the second game. So happy that I did because I’m loving it and will likely finish it this weekend. Then I will check out 3 remastered on PS4.

Re: Rumour: Red Dead Redemption 2 Will Feature a Battle Royale Mode

@Wazeddie22 I definitely agree. I would love to see single player DLC content after launch like Undead Nightmare. There is a market for it. Unfortunately, often the reality is that a focus on a persistent online mode is more profitable in the long run especially with the huge production and marketing budgets that these AAA games typically involve. Rockstar has been wise enough to keep the two modes largely separate (unlike Ubisoft) so I hope they continue the trend. I am right there rooting with you for the single player mode as a lengthy campaign with post-launch support.

@Wazeddie22 I am more about the single player side too. However, I think it is not fair to say GTA 5 sacrificed SP for MP. It had a 30+ hour SP campaign. Yes, the after launch focus became about MP, but they certainly built a quality and lengthy SP experience. I believe it will follow a similar pattern with RDR2.

Re: Spider-Man PS4 Playthroughs Taking Multiple Days

@PS_Nation The main campaign was 14 hours according to the HowLongToBeat website, which would be solid for Spider-Man. It could easily add 20 or more on top of that after packing on the open world side quests and collections. Regardless, I would rather have a shorter campaign with reasonable pacing than a bloated story that drags on for too long.

That's a fantastic lineup. Already have MGS V, but Amnesia should be fun for the Halloween season. And by "fun", I mean me cowering in the corners of the game trying not to get caught. I watched some let's plays and it looks terrifying.

Re: Hands On: Detroit: Become Human Hints at Huge Potential

This sits alongside Red Dead Redemption 2 as my most anticipated game of 2018. The potential laid out for the story is high. I never really bought into Beyond even after loving Heavy Rain. The more binary choices bothered me in Beyond. There were so many branching stories in Heavy Rain and this sounds like a return to form.

Need to finish up Lost Legacy. Then dipping back into Return to Arkham to do the Harley's Revenge DLC.

Lastly, I'm going to start Alien Isolation. I've had the game for a couple years but I don't do well with horror titles and have avoided it. Alien is one of my all-time favorite films and I want to play this game for Halloween season.

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2 Returns Next Thursday

It's the Red Dead Redemption series colors, but does not specifically state that it is the sequel. Could it be the remastered original on PS4? Please please please. After the LA Noire announcement, I am still hopeful that it could happen.,

@john_c how are you liking Sherlock Holmes? I liked Crimes and Punishments a bit better, but still enjoyed it a lot. I really hope they keep putting out the series on PS4. I love collecting the clues and using the deduction board. Some of the mini games are not the best but the ability to skip them relieves that frustration.

Finally finished Until Dawn. I haven't had such a fun and scary experience in a long time. The ending got a bit over the top, but it felt appropriate with the narrative build. I don't often, but I am going for the platinum on this one. It is so replayable because of the many outcomes from your choices. I'm very excited about Supermassive's Hidden Agenda now.

Re: Hands On: Uncharted: The Lost Legacy Proves You Don't Need Nate to Have a Good Time

@get2sammyb You sound like you're enjoying it from this article, but does it make you hungry to play more Uncharted games beyond Lost Legacy? Would you like the series to continue beyond this chapter? I guess you may not be able to answer that until you finish the campaign, but I was just curious. I feel more open to the series continuing, whereas my feeling last year was that UC4 wrapped things up nicely and no more chapters were necessary.

Honestly, not bothered that there are not a lot of big changes. We have gotten so much that we requested over the past couple updates (folders, appear offline, external hard drive, etc). There is absolutely room for improvement and tweaking, but I am pretty satisfied at the moment.
