@CielloArc why are you taking those views so seriously? They're two different persons opinion on the games in question. It's not a definitive evaluation. If you don't agree with it, one way or the other, you take note of the reviewer, recognise your opinions differ and use that to better inform yourself next time they post something, or you stop reading entirely that's how it works, and how it's always worked.
If you're looking for an opinion that falls slap bang in the middle of general consensus all the time, you're not looking for somebody's genuine views, you're looking for a metacritic algorithm.
People that review bomb deserve nothing. All they're doing is making reviews entirely redundant. There are ways to voice displeasure without the equivalent of throwing your toys out of the pram.
The impairment is just a contingency move from Sony whilst they've got the figures to do it. It doesn't neccesarily tell the whole story it just makes financial sense to use huge profits to preemptively write down a potential financial dead weight now so they are not losing multiple billions further down the line.
Leaks are purely so some no mark can gain some notoriety and profit from it themselves, they should be roundly rejected and shunned as part of the gaming world, they serve no positive purpose. Devs should be able to announce and release information on their ganes as they see fit without having to worry about leaks and forcing them to get ahead of it.
Is it a 9/10 in the same way an artful escape was? Because that game in my eyes was as tedious as it comes. Only a couple of hours long and still struggled to get through it.
Never going to be a huge mega seller, don't need any analytical tools to tell you that. It was always going to be one for the catalogue to bolster the first party offerings rather than a headliner regardless of how good it is just through the type of game it is.
They've gone to the effort of making it more accessible but that's never going to translate into numbers quickly, that will take time if it works, also think there is a danger that might backfire on them as housemarque has a reputation built on tough challenging games.
Most of the world is skint, people are dumping £70 on a weekly basis anymore. For most they're far more selective on day 1 purchases. Waiting for sales are much more enticing and just using the value of ps+ if you're patient enough.
Keep hearing about them replicating the arkham combat but surely it's just a visual representation of it with extremely easy, button mashing controls rather than a genuine carbon copy complete with the arkham difficulty. A Lego game has to be easy, to suit it's predominantly child audience.
Don't get me wrong, the people who desire provocative sexual imagery from video games are complete oddballs that may very well find themselves on undesirable registers at some point in their lives, but those that complain about a decision to pander to that audience are somehow even worse.
What does it matter? The whole "the Armour doesn't protect anything" line is just ridiculous. It's a fantasy world. If it translates to more sales, it's a great decision.
Perverted weirdos vs the most insufferable people on the planet. Who'd want to be aligned to either side?
I don't see it. The parkour in the game can be good when in full flow but it's incredibly simple, you essentially just hold a button and point in a direction.
surely you'd need a much more complex system to get it to a point where it is even close to being something not incredibly simple, tedious and downright boring to fit into a fall guys style format.
It would be incredible to spend a decade making a live service game and not have at least a plan for multiple years worth of story. Not sure how this is even news, should just be a given.
Highguard had years worth of content planned too.
Marathons future will be shaped primarily by when it comes to ps+, it has to be whilst there is a lull in big releases to get people in and there needs to be some compelling content on the horizon to keep them invested in the following months. How successfully they navigate that will determine it's long term longevity.
Not arguing with it being goty or anything like that, but it being regarded as one of the most highly rated games ever and the most awarded is a bit over the top.
@Slayer25c why would they want to have anything else take up even a second of attention that could be on them? And from the other side of it, why would Sony or any 3rd parry partner want to put any other game in the same state of play as gta 6 where it'll get swamped? Makes no sense. Whenever Rockstar have something to say on gta 6 it'll be on their own terms independent of anything else.
Nine sols and wuchang are excellent additions. As good of a time as any to bring in the tedious inevitable annual fifa game when its backed up by good titles.
Would make no sense to cancel it, most of the framework for a venom game is already there from previous marvel games, it's easy money. They'd be mad not to. Having said that. Wouldn't be overly bothered if it didn't release. Feels like the marvel movie fatigue is about to hit the marvel video game side too.
For those mentioning the legality of it and potential copyright infringement, I suspect it's simply not worth it to pursue it, probably cost more in legal fees, so long as its not damaging IP can't see anybody going after them, except maybe Nintendo.
My only concern was that in making it more accessible, they lose the challenge and difficulty that defines housemarque. If that isnt the case, it's a guaranteed banger.
If they were up for sale, weird that Sony doesnt buy them, surely you want that ps+ premium agreement secured long term.
Got to suspect they got a long term contract tied down with them before this, would be in everyone's interests to do so, Sony get what they want and Atari have a cast iron contract to safeguard their purchase.
They have to go all in one way or the other, if they want to bring back exclusivity, they've got to do it for absolutely everything and create the biggest reason possible for people to get an Xbox. doing that will mean them leaving some serious revenue on the table in missed potential sales though which is a serious gamble, they'll likely have to eat big losses for a while and therr is zero guarantee it'll work. Feels like a needless gamble for limited pay off at this point. If they half ass it and pick a couple of exclusives or they make them timed exclusives which i suspect they'll most likely decide on, that's not going to be anywhere near enough to get people back onto that system, people will just skip those games or wait, Xbox don't have system selling IP, their strength now is in quantity, make everything exclusive and that then becomes an enticing prospect for some.
Artistically it still looks awful, that alone will put off many from even considering giving it a go. That artistic style doesn't mean it will be bad though. If it's got the same horizon gameplay, i'm confident it'll be good but it's still handicapped itself with a horrible art choice.
We had a few years of people moaning about ps+ compared to gamepass. Sony stuck to their sustainable business model refusing to go down the same route as gamepass. Insisting it wasn't financially sustainable and ps+ now sits in a nice place whereas gamepass is just a mess of a service right now trying to be everything to everyone, not succeeding, not growing and costing them dearly.
Going back to comparing ps+ to gamepass now that there has been a bit of a price drop in an effort to rectify the mess theyve made of gamepass is beyond moronic.
Leave the comparisons alone, they're different things. ps+ is in a very nice spot, offers a fantastic service at a good price, it doesnt need any drastic changes.
Advice for anybody that regularly misses out on games they had intended on playing, a month or two in advance, do a little Google of the additions to extra from a year ago that month and get anything you want to play started. It's not fool proof but it'll stop you missing out on loads of games.
Lost crown was one of the best game ubisoft have made in years. May not have sold well but that can be due to many outside factors, they thoroughly deserved a second shot.
Really strong month in my eyes. Said after the initial leak we just need a couple of solid indies to back it up and looks like we got that, Monster train is right up my alley, i'll probably give squirrel with a gun a go too just for a few hours brainless fun inbetween meatier titles.
All you need is a social media account and the ability to knock up executive looking graphic and you can present pretty much anything as fact nowadays. It's essentially a complete guess based on a number of unproveable presumptions.
Happy with that even before finding out the others. I'm probably not going to bother playing horizon again, Just too many other games over replaying something i've played before with minor visual improvements but it's a staple that has to be in there and now the best version is.
Crew motorfest was inevitable, surprised it took this long, expecting that avatar and star wars game from ubisoft relatively soon too.
Fm26 I weined myself off the drug that is football manager years ago but happy to fall back in.
Couple of competent smaller indie titles to add to it and it'll be a very strong month.
I think they pretty much perfected the style of game with the original, there's nothing of note to improve on and so it's just more of the same, some will like that as it's a very good game but it's kind of boring now, should pass the reigns on to a subsidiary team who would have to go some way to mess it up and let them work on something more interesting.
Name me another line of work where overtime is treated like it's a crime. Sick of the dramatisation of "crunch" now, it's a common occurrence, don't go into that line of work if you aren't prepared for it.
Doctor's and nurses work marathon shifts all hours of the day and then sometimes still have to be on call during their time off. Retail staff are denied any time off around the Christmas period and are expected to be available to work any day except Christmas itself as it's their busiest time of the year. You can name dozens and dozens of other examples.
God forbid a business requires employees work longer hours for a relatovely brief period of time after typically 5 years of work leading to that point.
Does this mean Starfield is now out on ps5? Seen absolutely no marketing for it. Bethesda game having problems running cannot be news to anybody at this point. Give it a few years for them to make it playable by which time it'll be on ps+ and we can try it for free.
It's over for them if they do. Entire selling point of gamepass has been day 1 for all microsoft games, if they start adding exceptions it's no longer a viable selling point. Gamepass can still work anf work well without it but it will need a serious reworking of the entire service and ever increasing cost if they go ahead and remove their biggest USP.
I've been a subscriber to ps+ since psnow days, always maintained it was an excellent service despite the unending cries of how it doesnt stack up to gamepass. Always argued it's in a great spot and doesnt need to do anything that would make it more expensive. Glad Sony stuck to their guns in the midst of a lot of noise, we continue to get an excellent and affordable service that does something specific rather than trying to be everything.
Had this game downloaded sitting on my system via ps+ extra for ages but never got around to trying it despite hearing positive things. Nabbed it for free and so it can once again sit downloaded on my system where i'll likely continue to not get around to trying it.
To be honest, i'd rather they just left them alone through fear of them messing them up. Nothing wrong with the current system bar incredibly minor personal annoyances, just leave be.
If you want to do anything trophy related, make it mandatory for devs to fix broken trophies and release patches to unlock unattainable trophies when they decide to shutdown online servers.
All points to what i've been saying since the beginning, it'll be on ps+ very quickly. Needs the player boost to have any chance of sustaining it long term. They've just got to leave it long enough so as to not piss off all those day 1 adopters that paid full price for it. Wouldn't be surprised to see it around christmas time. Possibly even on ps+ extra first, then essential 6 months later for a double dipping.
Lords of the fallen is a good enough offering, can't complain about that. Tomb raider also fine, sword art is too niche for my liking but minor gripe. Won't go down as a great month but a perfectly acceptable one.
Wasn't it well documented that a primary reason for cancelation was they didnt want a prestigious team like naughty dog tied down to maintaining, updating and improving a GaaS title for the forseeable? Doesnt really matter how finished it was when that was their thinking.
Reasonable question would be why they couldnt have offloaded responsibility for ongoing support to one of Sonys many now shuttered studios once the game was finished.
Pachter has been making wildly inaccurate predictions for decades, this is just another. If wver there was a man to ignore on the future of gaming, it's him. As big of a con man as Trump.
First one wasn't very good. It had some good ideas but the core gameplay was quite poor, this looks like a substantial improvement in every way. Definitely worth keeping an eye on it.
Content with that, lords of the fallen i'll likely play, i hear its much better now than it was on release.
Might dip in to tomb raider at some point although its one of those where the idea of playing it again is probably more enjoyable than actually playing it, no interest in the other one.
Definitely feels like 3 ps+ extra titles rather than essential offerings this month.
You may aswell quite literally burn the money. In this current economical climate, it's a serious piss take to even be offering this nevermind the stupidity of somebody who would actually buy it.
Deleting something from my Playstation and freeing up space is a deeply pleasing feeling for some reason, especially for larger titles, so having to do that slightly more often isn't a problem in my eyes.
I said earlier that lord's of the fallen feels more like a ps+ extra game than essential. Well this second one is the very definition of a ps+ extra filler slot.
I like them being diverse with the genre's of games they add to the service even when it's games like this that i have less than no interest in but it is such an odd choice for essential.
There is no chance ps6 comes out in 2027. There is no need for it and no desire for it for numerous reasons.
If people are shelling out 500-1k on a console that will possibly be subsidized or have small margins at best, then they're not spending that money on games, 1st or 3rd party which net Sony bigger margins. It's more profitable for Sony not to bring out a new console and with competition basically eliminated where's the need coming from?

There is no chance ps6 comes out in 2027. There is no need for it and no desire for it for numerous reasons.
If people are shelling out 500-1k on a console that will possibly be subsidized or have small margins at best, then they're not spending that money on games, 1st or 3rd party which net Sony bigger margins. It's more profitable for Sony not to bring out a new console and with competition basically eliminated where's the need coming from?
