Some low-key bangers in there that i want to champion. Death squared is a great little puzzle game you can do fairly quickly and for anybody into slay the spire, rogue lords is well worth a play. I personally thought it was brilliant with a nice unique mechanic of being encouraged to "cheat"
The staggered release has only worked once in my favour so far. When I got a game I wanted to play earlier and at a time where I had just finished what I was playing. Every other time it's been an unnecessary annoyance getting the games I want to play later and then it crosses over too closely with the following months essential games.
Im not visiting or engaging with the collection more, sony arent getting anything out of this, i'm just being inconvenienced and annoyed every month. What benefit is that providing for sony? I know other recent sony decisions have gained far more traction and are bigger issues but this decision is right up there with the most stupid of them all as there is zero benefit to doing it for anybody.
Ps+ is their last hope, they'd be stupid to put it on there in its current state though, they have to add to it and make it a genuinely good replaceable product first because once it's on ps plus, if the player base aren't compelled to keep playing, they aren't coming back further down the line and then it's truly dead.
Save the last shot at redemption until they have something worthy.
Doesn't have permission from the IP owners and was openly profiteering from their product. You'd have to be pretty thick to not expect this to happen. Sony probably held off making contact until just before it was done just to waste more of their time. Every right to do what they have done.
My immediate attention turned to trying to work out how 100 people are split into 3 teams.
Once I put that to the side, it does look good. Sign of the times that stating it is not an battle Royale or extraction shooter is one of the key parts of the trailer.
Doesn't appear to be doing anything massively original but if it's all done well, it doesnt need to. I can see it being a success. Whilst I've moved on from online games and wont be playing myself, still good to see a new classic shooter to take on the established few, hope it does well.
Its a 3rd party exclusive, it's a given now that all 1st and 3rd party exclusives effectively turn their platinum trophies into participation trophies.

WWE can get in the bin where it belongs. They have to give us that title earlier every year because the servers close incredibly quickly rendering them useless in no time. No issue with them adding the essential game to extra but only as an additional title not one of the 8 we now typically get which is what they've done here. Poor form that. Its much more annoying when they do it the other way around though when we get an essential title that was on extra 12 months ago.
Rather comical we get 2 premium titles (technically 3 given redux is 2 games in 1) and people still find a way to moan about that tier

If there is a killzone game in the works it will 100% be a remake. Nobody brings back a dormant IP with a sequel, it's always a remake first with the promise if a sequel if it sells well.
Got premium but don't use it. I have done in the past, for 1 or 2 ps3 games back when it was psnow and a much better selection of games to mixed results but i'd never choose to stream when I can just download the game. The ps3 streaming game options are so poor in the premium tier that I've never even been tempted. Wouldn't be against using the streaming if there was something I wanted to play that could onky be streamed, just isn't.
Ratchet and clank is one of my most favourite series from my childhood but i've played it so many times at this point. Got the ps3 HD collection, played it on vita, played the ps4 remake and it's been on ps+/now via streaming forever.
it's nice they're bringing it to the classics catalogue but i'd sooner have something that is stuck on the ps2
Very possibly the worst SoP ever from my perspective. Other than a welcome announcement of maneater 2, there was nothing else of interest to me.
Granted it was very much tailored to genres I have zero interest in and i'm sure for people In to those things, there was probably some big things there but from my point of view it was a colossal waste of time.
Most 1st party exclusives have turned their platinum into a participation platinum, you do a 100% playthrough and the odd misc trophy, you'll get the plat. Spiderman platinum were very simple, this will be exactly the same. The accessibility options will trivialise anything that may be even slightly challenging.
Best thing about these SOP's now is that we usually get ps+ reveals for various different tiers and they're usually of a much higher caliber. I think we're due astrobot on ps+
Feels really short for the type of game it is. Can work if it's done well but runs the risk of players feeling short changed if any of it doesn't feel upto standard or feels like filler.
I know this will be fantastic but I just have zero enthusiasm for it. Falls under the same blanket as spiderman as a marvel insomniac game in my eyes and despite enjoying and platinuming every single Spiderman to date, they just feel like oversaturation.
I want insomniac doing something other than a marvel game if only to give us a breather and allow that desire for a new one to build again.
I'll be waiting a few years for it to come to ps+, my appetite for that type of game should have returned by then.
That showing made me less likely to buy it. Fancy visuals but playing it doesnt seem all that engaging. Look to have gone down the rdr2 route of boring, tedious realism to certain actions that do nothing to aide the enjoyment.

You know why helldivers 2 worked? Because it was designed as a multiplayer live service game from its inception and not simply an IP that they're forcing into a genre it wasn't meant for.
Helldivers 2 coming to ps+ extra has been tempting me to play it, so naturally, I re-downloaded helldivers 1 instead and got back into that after the best part of a decade. on the platinum hunt for that before I get into 2.

firstly, it's incredibly poorly thought out and stinks of people half-assing it, they're making no sacrifice here, do it when Wolverine comes out, do it when the digital only gta 6 comes out not when there is nothing. it's the equivalent of claiming you're on a crash diet whilst having food poisoning. secondly, the way they've gone about just annoying everybody has saw sympathisers and would be supporters turn on them, making every Playstation bit of media completely incapable of holding any discussion on anything else was only ever going to piss off the people they want on their side. I liken them to the eco warriors that block motorways and make everybody suffer, theyre only ever going to get people disliking them, find a better way of making your point.

vampire survivors i'll be using as my go to when I want a short session or a palette cleanser but i'll no doubt get sucked in and play it religiously until I platinum it.
KCD 2 I have every intention of playing at some point but I have to find the right time and be in the mood to start it. It's an easy one to put off starting because of how intense it is but I know i'll get right into it once I do.
The films surely contributed heavily towards this as that's a seriously impressive number.
Game was just alright, the idea behind it was good but it had a fair few flaws. All the random floating things made it look like a pre-alpha game where they were yet to put any time into the environment. A sequel has potential if they put the work in and don't just do more of the same. Probably needs to come out soon whilst the sonic hype is still alive which makes me believe a rushed sequel is more likely.
Good for Sega, their revival has been extraordinary.
It's Netflix, they axe their best shows if they aren't worldwide number 1 in the first week of release and even then they're aren't safe. Should be no surprise this was coming.
Any dev selling up to Netflix is signing the death of their company, it's simply a matter of when.
Netflix gaming arm is odd because they put on some absolute bangers for free, I just have no desire to play the games on there in that way and alwayd forget they eveb have a games section.
If they arranged some tie in with Playstation where you could link the accounts and you got a Playstation version of those titles that are on both services as long as you have active subs, similar to ps+ then you'd be talking about something potentially very interesting.
Its a niche genre, if they were hoping for anything more than these kind of figures they're completely clueless and shouldn't be in the role they are in.
Banging month. Covers all bases too. You've got your headliners in helldivers and KCD, both fairly recent too. Then your under the radar title in hell is us. the niche but highly rated with two point museum. killer, smaller indie in vampire survivors, weird but popular Japanese filler and your older but highly rated games in metro and dying light. You even get 2 premium titles for your £1.66 a month.
There can be no complaints with that. I'll be playing at least 5 of those. Best month in a while.
Inevitable, the surprise was they've held off this long before adding it. Did think they'd hold off for it to coincide with an extra large update, the update that is coming seems meaty.
The correct way to do it if you are going to do it at all. These type of games are intended to be hard and punishing so I don't get the appeal of an easy mode, it becomes something completely different at that point, i'd rather just abandon the game or not play it at all if I can't do it than play a watered down version but each to their own.
I find the moaning about trophy disabling incredibly odd, the argument seems to be that they're meaningless yet people are wanting access to these meaningless things? If they're meaningless, why the outrage about being denied them if choosing to play the game in a manner not intended? If you want them, there's a way to get them, the way the devs want you to get them. There is really no argument against the devs doing it this way.
Infact, I praise them for not going down the sony 1st party route of turning trophies into participation trinkets
@Kevw2006 they used to do it with every single game. Then they seemed to stop it, which was good because it was quite annoying. It's since had a sporadically return every now and then.

KCD 2 I have every intention of playing at some point but I have to find the right time and be in the mood to start it. It's an easy one to put off starting because of how intense it is but I know i'll get right into it once I do.

The films surely contributed heavily towards this as that's a seriously impressive number.
Game was just alright, the idea behind it was good but it had a fair few flaws. All the random floating things made it look like a pre-alpha game where they were yet to put any time into the environment. A sequel has potential if they put the work in and don't just do more of the same. Probably needs to come out soon whilst the sonic hype is still alive which makes me believe a rushed sequel is more likely.
Good for Sega, their revival has been extraordinary.

It's Netflix, they axe their best shows if they aren't worldwide number 1 in the first week of release and even then they're aren't safe. Should be no surprise this was coming.
Any dev selling up to Netflix is signing the death of their company, it's simply a matter of when.
Netflix gaming arm is odd because they put on some absolute bangers for free, I just have no desire to play the games on there in that way and alwayd forget they eveb have a games section.
If they arranged some tie in with Playstation where you could link the accounts and you got a Playstation version of those titles that are on both services as long as you have active subs, similar to ps+ then you'd be talking about something potentially very interesting.

Its a niche genre, if they were hoping for anything more than these kind of figures they're completely clueless and shouldn't be in the role they are in.

Banging month. Covers all bases too. You've got your headliners in helldivers and KCD, both fairly recent too. Then your under the radar title in hell is us. the niche but highly rated with two point museum. killer, smaller indie in vampire survivors, weird but popular Japanese filler and your older but highly rated games in metro and dying light. You even get 2 premium titles for your £1.66 a month.
There can be no complaints with that. I'll be playing at least 5 of those. Best month in a while.

Inevitable, the surprise was they've held off this long before adding it. Did think they'd hold off for it to coincide with an extra large update, the update that is coming seems meaty.

The correct way to do it if you are going to do it at all. These type of games are intended to be hard and punishing so I don't get the appeal of an easy mode, it becomes something completely different at that point, i'd rather just abandon the game or not play it at all if I can't do it than play a watered down version but each to their own.
I find the moaning about trophy disabling incredibly odd, the argument seems to be that they're meaningless yet people are wanting access to these meaningless things? If they're meaningless, why the outrage about being denied them if choosing to play the game in a manner not intended? If you want them, there's a way to get them, the way the devs want you to get them. There is really no argument against the devs doing it this way.
Infact, I praise them for not going down the sony 1st party route of turning trophies into participation trinkets

@Kevw2006 they used to do it with every single game. Then they seemed to stop it, which was good because it was quite annoying. It's since had a sporadically return every now and then.
