Yakuza Kiwami 3 Gameplay Stream

Developer RGG Studio will host a 'Direct' livestream for Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties next week, showcasing gameplay systems and mechanics.

If you're already interested in the upcoming remake, then this should be a decent watch. We already know that Kiwami 3 is making changes to how Kiryu fights — he's got a whole new weapon-based stance for a start — but we haven't had any proper deep dives up until this point.

And then there's obviously Dark Ties — the smaller adventure that's been bolted onto the release. You play as Yakuza 3 antagonist Mine in that one, and we're yet to really see him in action outside of screenshots and small video clips.

But we're guessing this broadcast won't just be about combat. Kiwami 3's promising all sorts of additional activities, like looking after the Sunshine Orphanage — and its kids — as Kiryu. There's probably going to be a lot to get through.

Anyway, the stream's set for the 22nd February at 5pm PST / 8pm EST. As such, it'll be a late one for those of us in Europe, where it'll go live on the 23rd February at 1am GMT / 2am CET.

It should be noted that recent Yakuza / Like a Dragon broadcasts have been met with criticism from viewers. The sexual assault accusations surrounding actor Teruyuki Kagawa, who plays a pivotal villain in the remake, have led to past streams being swamped with #REMOVEKAGAWA in chat and comments sections.

SEGA and RGG Studio have yet to make any official statement on the matter, which, as you can imagine, hasn't gone down well with those opposed to Kagawa's involvement. There's a good chance that this stream renews the campaign.
